The Saber

Open For Interaction
A blue haze illuminated the room as the holomap sprung to life.

It had been a while since Okkeus had travelled to the Core, let alone Corellia. The Outer Rim was slowly becoming his home. Most of the systems out there were free from galactic politics, something which the man spent most of his life involved in. Bouncing from one war to the next. Specks of grey hair that slowly popped up on his head were attributed to this. He was not getting any younger, that was for sure. That is why most of his days were spent travelling the galaxy, charting out new stars that no one has seen before.

That is what led him to The Saber. While his time spent exploring gave Okkeus a pretty extensive star map of his own, there were still pieces missing. Pieces that could prove valuable to a larger project he was studying. This temple was home to a copy of the Merrill-Blake Star Map - quite possibly the greatest star map in the entire galaxy. Information that Jorus collected across his years of travel were found in here. Some locations stored within did not even exist anymore. History could be tracked with the map. All of it was very fascinating. With the permissions of The Green Jedi, Okkeus was granted access to the Vault where it was stored.

A large table was set up where the man begun his examination. His droid, Apollo, was upon the table as well, ready to record any new information that was found. The map shone brightly as Okkeus' eyes widened. There it was, in all of its glory. This was the reason he was here. Perhaps someone else was visiting the archives today with the goal of seeking information. He would love to share this discovery process with another. After all, the galaxy could use more unity for a change.

THE SABER - ARCHIVES
CORONET CITY
CORELLIA

The Saber was his home as a Jedi, the first place he'd begun to learn when, perhaps fate had shattered his childhood dreams and set him on the path, but Rik Perris had rarely haunted the halls of the centrally-located enclave for the better part of a decade and a half. Not since the death of his master, and his training being taken over by the overarching Order of the Alliance for the few years that remained until he'd been knighted at eighteen.

The temple in the mountains was a sacred place, a place of the soul, but it was here that was embedded with his earliest memories of learning to wield the Force, of being introduced to the philosophies of the Light. He'd been giving his pupil the tour, briefly visiting whatever other Jedi still haunted these halls even now and knew him as scarce as he'd been.

But what brought him to the archives here, rather than anywhere else was that it was here, and aside from a few subjects of learning - his own, and that of his first Padawan - was the atypical curiosity he harboured about the fashions of Green Jedi that had come before him. He'd need to put in for some new, primarily ceremonial robes, sooner or later.

"I spent a good bit of time in these archives," Rik said in a hushed voice, "as a padawan." They were meandering a little before getting started on selecting data slates. "A little self-directed learning, sometimes assignments to look up one thing or another for many reasons, advance research for missions," He glanced down at Ceri, "leverage every tool you have access to, Ceri, but exercise your judgment."

Becoming too reliant on the Force wasn't ideal. As they wandered, the glow emanating from one of the vaults slowed him down a moment or two. He stared at the light, considering, knowing where it was coming from - he knew the layout of this archive inside and out.

"You seen many star maps?" The one housed here was a treat, moreso than any other. "Wonder who's accessed it--" He mused, before continuing on and beckoning her to follow, "--come on, you might like this."

The Archives had always been a place of quiet solace for Valery, but today, she wasn't here for peace. She moved through the towering shelves of datachips and holobooks with purposeful strides, her fiery gaze scanning the labeled entries with a sharp focus. Planetary records. Cartographic surveys. Ancient star maps.

It was all part of her latest pursuit — hunting down artifacts that had been lost to time, many of them far too dangerous to be left forgotten. Sith relics, old weapons of war, objects imbued with Force energy that could twist minds or corrupt souls. Better in her hands than anyone else's. She exhaled softly, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear as she reached for a small datapad, inputting her search criteria. But just as she was about to dive in, a glow caught her attention.

Not the usual golden hue of archive terminals. No, this was different. A deep blue light spilled across the room from one of the large tables, illuminating the face of someone clearly absorbed in their research.

Valery arched a brow, shifting slightly to get a better look. Intrigued, she stepped closer, her arms loosely crossing over her chest. "That," she murmured, tilting her head toward the glowing projection, "Is quite the map you've got there." Her gaze flickered across the Merrill-Blake Star Map, its shifting constellations and long-forgotten hyperlanes mesmerizing even to someone who had spent decades flying across the stars.

She smirked slightly, amber eyes meeting his. "Looking for something specific?"

It was always a wild trip for her to come into the Core, but every so often the CEO of Starchaser Enterprises had to show up at her main factory. That was Coronet. And it meant she had some time to do some sight seeing as well. One of them was that she figured she could stop in on the Jedi Temple, her people, her father, was of the Green Jedi, and he was seeming to return to them more and more as he grew back into the person he wanted to be.

And the Green Jedi weren’t like the rest of the Core World Jedi, they apparently had no qualms with other groups that were Jedi adjacent. And as a Warden of the Sky, she was definitely Jedi adjacent, but maybe more than she cared to admit. Her ship the Wandering Star found itself in one of the specialized planetary docks at the Starchaser Enterprises yard. And from there? One of her family’s speeders got her to the Saber.

Archives, that was what she needed. And seeing others here? That was a surprise. As a Starchaser she had a copy of The Map (™) and used it quite extensively. But there was something about this man she recognized… One of dad’s friends? And then the Grandmaster. That was another face that Kaia knew, but from news reels and dad’s old stories.

Her probot was hoving behind her as she idly looked through some old Jedi flimsi maps. And eavesdropped.

TAG: Okkeus Dainlei Okkeus Dainlei | Rik Perris Rik Perris | Valery Noble Valery Noble

I have not been to Corellia in years, but nothing ever truly changes about it. The civilization of Coruscant, the natural beauty of Naboo, and the hubris of Nar Shadaa. The Saber though is a site all on its own. Never truly having a legitimate reason to come here, the knowledge sealed in this place is important, but moreso, safe, so I appreciate every step in here. The Saber holds secrets that could reshape our understanding of the Force. Its preservation is vital, not just for the knowledge it contains, but for the safety of the galaxy. Each visit reinforces the importance of safeguarding this repository of ancient wisdom.

So why am I here? I see… wait is that Valery Noble Valery Noble ? Never met her, but know her by reputation, just as one of the infamous “Perris” family, I think that is Rik Perris Rik Perris . This isn’t surprising to have Jedi of these reputations here. Makes it seem why I am here that much more… underhanded. It isn’t though. It can’t be. I need to find a place for all of those poor Wookiees, until we can get Kashyykk back for them. Sure, Master Coren Starchaser Coren Starchaser is being extremely gracious in housing many of them with the Kattada Temple, and the Temple network and Master Matsu Ike Matsu Ike have been incredible but they are going to want their own place, at least for the time being.

Aric is busy on Vanagor’s Island or “ Shadow Sanctuary” as he likes to call it. He's been focused on training anyone wanting and preparing for any potential threats. His dedication is admirable, but I worry about the toll it's taking on him. We all need to stay vigilant and support each other during these uncertain times.

Okkeus slowly returned to reality when a voice spoke up from beside him.

He was lost in thought examining some systems around the Tingel Arm. This was an area of space that he had only recently ventured to. Last time he was out that far was when he was fighting against the Sith on Ziost. For the 3rd time, actually. Lifting his eyes from the holomap, the man was greeted with the sight of Grandmaster Valery, someone who he did not expect to see here. While he was disconnected from the recent conflicts involving the Alliance, he knew they were actively at war with the Dark Empire. Perhaps she was here to seek some sort of edge for their wars.

"Yes, it is...quite possibly the greatest in all of the galaxy."

Apollo chirped softly as a handful of orange points began to pop up on the map, indicating some new finds that needed to be examined.

"Hyperspace anomalies mainly. Anything that looks like it shouldn't be there."

A deep calling was felt to try and seek these out. Okkeus could not quite understand what it was yet, but it was something deeper within the Force. An ancient feeling. His visions were still too blurry at the moment to try and determine what it all meant. But hopefully this map would help clear that confusion.

Outside of the vault doors, the spacer could hear some others mingling around, perhaps looking at the other items this archive had to offer. With a slight push of the Force, he opened the door wider, inviting the others to come and join him. Anyone who would sit and listen to him ramble on about the stars was more than welcome to join. For now, he turned his attention back to Valery.

"What brings you to the vault?"

Valery listened as Okkeus spoke, her fiery gaze flickering between him and the swirling projection of the Merrill-Blake Star Map. The way it shifted, the way new markers blinked into existence as his droid analyzed the data — it was mesmerizing. A map of the galaxy's forgotten paths, its lost corridors of travel, places that perhaps should remain hidden.

She knew that feeling. The call of something ancient. The whisper of something buried in time, waiting to be uncovered.

At his question, she exhaled softly, rolling her shoulders before shifting her stance to lean slightly against the edge of the table. "I've been busy with a little artifact hunt of my own," she admitted, watching the flickering hyperspace anomalies on the projection. "Mapping out ruins, cross-referencing locations, trying to piece together where certain things might have ended up."

Her gaze sharpened slightly. "Some of them are dangerous — Sith relics, old war technology, remnants of power that shouldn't be left to the wrong hands. So I've been visiting different archives, gathering as much information as I can before I start following up on leads."

A smirk tugged at the corner of her lips as she lifted a brow. "Though it looks like you might be onto something interesting yourself." She nodded toward the shifting points on his map. "You look like you're trying to figure something out. Could I help?"

Valery wasn't just making an offer out of curiosity — though, she was curious. There was a certain intensity in Okkeus' posture, a quiet but unmistakable pull in the Force around him. Whatever he was searching for, it wasn't just idle stargazing.

It meant something.

It was always wild to be back on Corellia, to be back in any one world. But it was her home.

Yes, her brother was heir apparent to the Starchaser family, and its estate. Was there treasure? Sure, they were explorers. Their forefathers had many a chest that was recovered. Old Republic gear, High Republic credits found when At Attin was revealed, the location of Tanalorr, Rebellion and Galactic Empire era toys and droid brains. There was a lot. She knew that the estate was basically set up like a museum, with many of the items moved to the family's holdings on Laekia, and Kattada.

But here? Here there were some of the items, and ones that she knew better than to allow most to take away from the Temple. Not that she was going to really enforce that. Just keep an eye on things. She was hardly ever at Kattada. One of her other, unnamed cousins was still working as a Green Jedi, separate from the NJO but keeping an eye on the world.

Along with the Graystars and Sedaires.

Her father should really be here.

But he was working on Kattada, and handling refugees from Kashyyyk, the job a Jedi should be doing. And here she was, wandering the galaxy and stopping by The Saber. Drifter was beeping over her shoulder as Kaia was parsing through some of the maps. What she was looking for was more information on the Wardens and Jal Shey, hoping to help Iona Starchaser Iona Starchaser out on her own path.

People were talking about the Merril Map, and she really only hoped it wasn't going to be placed in the wrong hands. And sure, Kaia had a very broad definition of the wrong hands, and it pretty much included any groups that would share it with war vessels. Not something the galaxy needed.
