Keeping Blueberries Fresh

In Umbris Potestas Est
Malachor V

Vanessa was working as hard as she could to solve the problems of her biological decay. The rituals she had used while in the Unknown Regions to preserve herself, preventing aging and cellular deterioration at the behest of the Dark Side were starting to fail, and she required help in finding a method by which to keep her body from catastrophically falling into decay. But for now, those concerns were to be put to the side. There was a new Sith, one who was interested in learning in her forte of sorcery and who perhaps would prove to be a useful student.

Perhaps she could actually help the Sith Lord out.

Keva was not dumb, even if much of the Sith was foreign to her. She needed allies, at least those half worthy ones that might be able to stand with her when the time came to bring peace to the Galaxy. She did not know if [member="Vanessa Vantai"] would be such an ally, but time would tell: and if nothing else the elder sith could be a tool to further her abilities.

Her vessel, a simple ship she and acquired, approached into the tumultuous atmosphere of Malachor V: she had read of the world briefly, many moons ago and had taken only the briefest of the interests in the ruined form. Truthfully though, she found some beauty in it’s destroyed mass. She could make many such things, one day, when the Galaxy would need it’s purging. Enjoyable to consider, one always did need to think ahead.

She remained rather calm, at the end of it all. She never did give away much in the realm of emotions, or feelings, or anything that really would’ve set her apart from the stereotypical Chiss: she still wore the military uniform she had during the days in the CEDF, and where the symbol of the Confederacy once stood, and the CEDF before it, now only stood the jagged symbol of the Empire: a bit of empty patriotism for the defector. She waited at the entrance of the temple, palace, whatever it was. Truthfully she couldn’t quite figure it out, Sith were bizarre like that, she merely would wait for her elder and follow suite. Just a follower, for now.

The doors to the former academy would open, guiding the Chiss down the otherwise seemingly abandoned yet well maintained and cleaned hallways. Ah. So you're the Chiss I sensed outside. I knew I sensed someone with a great deal of internal conflict arriving here. An ethereal voice would seem to shimmer as she walked down the halls - it would seem as though the building itself was guiding her through it. She would soon wind up at another set of double doors, which opened for her to reveal a fully fledged laboratory.

There were of course a myriad of different objects. What appeared to be cyborgs frozen in carbonite, along with samples of gray ooze and other cellular cocktails long preserved through various means. Vanessa herself was currently examining a small sample of an old friend - someone she hadn't seen in a long time.

"Ah, welcome. What is your name?" She asked. If there was going to be conflict, however, she would be ready.

She knew this place wasn’t abandoned, it was too clean, and it was easy to acknowledge that proper maintenance to the highest degree would simply be impractical. She could appreciate the notions her mind bred up, generally disregarding if they were truthful or not.

Generally speaking, she was unphased by most of what was presented to her. But truthfully if it was nigh impossible to tell what phases Keva from facial expressions alone, she was highly seasoned in the art of maintaining a thorough poker face.

“Keva’Sol’Loro.”

Her response was as dull as her expression, yes. She was maybe a bit too seasoned in the art.

“I see...” Vanessa thought for a moment. “Well... Would it be alright if I just called you Sol?” She asked? “Would make things a bit easier and make this more effective.” She said, considering how best to approach the situation. “Well, you went through the trouble of hunting down my alchemical laboratory. I suppose you want to learn about things. What particularly would you like me to teach you?” She asked, curious.

After all, this could be the student she had been looking for.

"Keva. That is what I go by."

She had been juggling deference to her superiors rather roughly since coming to the wider Galaxy, it was far easier to just say short and brisk things in Cheunh back in the CDF then do the same in basic. That, and maybe just was a lack of proper social skills. That did always seem to come back around and bite her every now and then. But then came the big question: what did she actually want to learn? Frankly, she had no thorough idea. The Force was still a rather alien thing to her.

"I possess this gift but lack the skills to use it as an effective tool. In the simplest terms."

Or in "I have no way how to actually describe what I want". Not like she'd ever say such a thing out loud though.

"Ah." She said. "A pleasure to meet you, Keva. I'm Vanessa Vantai. There are a great many titles, pseudonyms, and other nom de guerres I have used in the past, but just Vanessa will work for as long as you're here." She smiled. "I see no reason to have extreme levels of formality in a abode like this." It was the latter statement, though, that made Vanessa wonder - what exactly did this woman already know? She had never interacted with this Chiss before, which raised questions as to whether or not she knew even the slightest bit of information relating to the Force.

"So tell me a bit about yourself. Before I can help you discover what you want to learn, I want to know what your history is. What sort of training do you have, both within the Force and outside the Force? I assume from your attire you have a military background of some sort."

This was hopefully the best assumption she could make.

"I was set up to be the leader of the CEDF, given overly extensive military history and tactical learnings in my youth so as to prepare myself for the position. A lapdog for politics did not suit me, I left the Unknown Regions and attached myself to the Confederacy for a time before deeming them insufficient, I progressed onto the Sith presuming my skills would be useful and my force sensitivity could be properly used.

It was grossly blunt, as all things the Chiss did. She ignored the notions of entering an informal state, such things had her lower her well kept walls: and that was far from in her perogatives. Just as was mentioning the various reasoning for why she did what she did outside the most basic concepts: no one needed to know her quest. Not yet. Later on allies could be gained. She continued, now touching on the force exclusively.

"I have had access to rudimentary Sense powers since my youth in Chiss Space, during the Confederate conquest of Yag'dhul I was able to tap into them in a more raw and unrefined state so as to be used in combat. Otherwise, my knowledge is little beyond basics."

"So you're a pragmatist." This was at least somewhat frustrating. If the words of Keva were true, Vanessa had come across someone who would be more than willing to abandon the Sith cause the moment aligning with another organization would be more beneficial. Vanessa would need to approach this carefully. "The Confederacy is indeed insufficient for such goals. Their schemes ultimately revolve around a select coterie of individuals rather than a greater purpose, such as that of the Sith." She explained. "And now that you are a Sith, you will always be one, no matter how fragmented our order becomes."

The latter words explained where Keva was skill-wise. "So you're unrefined. You don't even know how to focus on pushing and pulling things. Mind reading, electrocution... there are a myriad of things to learn. But I suppose we should start with the basics." Vanessa would summon a carbonite-encased block of a fleshy substance to her hand, holding it loosely before palming it. "Close your eyes. Reach out your hand if you have to. Take this memento from my hand without laying a finger on it."

An explanation would be given after she had done such.

"Pragmatist, idealist, whichever you so prefer."

She made no moves to actually try and deny it, Keva had her mission and that is her only true goal in life: her life's work to cleanse the Galaxy of scum. Whichever path that would take had yet to be showed, but the Sith would be invaluable to it no matter what happened.

"The Confederacy is bound by a crushing and hypocritical morality, it simply does not suffice."

She stood in silence as she spoke, merely listening to the task. She knew this one, at least, she had toyed with telekinesis a small amount in her youth and during her times traveling the Galaxy before ending up in the Confederacy and consuming herself back into her military studies. Letting her mind mellow out, she let her mind reach out: slowly creeping tendrils that wrapped around the memento, and slowly Keva pulled it back to herself: like a proper soldier her Telekinetic training was basic, purely for pulling her weapon to herself.

"It's not an ideology I necessarily oppose, but the Sith cause is one that demands loyalty - loyalty to the idea of the Sith, if nothing else." Vanessa would watch as Keva slowly but surely drew the block towards her. She would find it would stop, Vanesa more aggressively tugging on it herself. "Focus on one's self to the detriment of the group has the potential to cause significantly harm to one's self in the long run." She replied. "The Confederacy's pragmatism has cost it on a few occasions." She would think for a bit, pondering over the best way to respond.

"I'm not merely one to do this training without some philosophical discussion, after all."

“The concept that the ideas can’t work together is incorrect. Ideas are not inherently nor entirely self-serving. Pragmatism is what is needed to bring the Galaxy into a new golden age, free of degenerates and scum.”

Clenched her teeth, pulling harder. Using the same sloppy method she always had, she allowed her hatred to bubble forth and fuel her power in the force. Tugging harder on the small little cube

”The Confederacy lacked the necessary pragmatism needed for Galactic peace. They were weak.”

"Good, continue to focus." She said. "Though this does raise a question, one that I suppose is rather critically important if the Sith Empire is to continue to function smoothly." Her tug on the cube would be noticeably stronger than it had been before. "Would you betray the Empire if you felt it was the pragmatic thing to do to benefit what you believed was the right path the galaxy needed to travel down?"

She was curious as to the Blueskin's response.
