History
Kelly Johnathan Perris was born to Osira and Tadel Perris of Alderaan, followed by one sister, Yasmin Perris, whom was four years his junior. His father, Tadel, was a pilot, turning to a position as a designer and engineer for a reputable ship manufacturing firm upon retiring from the life of a fighter pilot. His mother, Osira, had followed in her father's footsteps, being one in a long line of family members involved in the political field, though her position was not one of being a politician herself. She was an irreplaceable resource as a highly intelligent personal lawyer who knew the internal laws of many worlds, as well as galactic law on the whole.
Kelly took in the first few years of his early schooling on Alderaan, a bright boy with a heavy mischievous streak and a passion for spacecraft and the want to fly any one he could get his hands on (thanks to his father), until his parents' business lives became such that they made the move to Coruscant. There he continued his studies, excelling academically, and doing several shades better than that with mechanical fields and he continued to pursue his dream, learning everything from the operational aspects of systems, to how to fix it all, and more. The remainder of his schooling was carried out on Coruscant, and despite his noted potential that he would be capable of doing well in any field he might choose, a career in military service was what he chose. It was at this point that he went off to the Academy at Carida, and finally began to really fulfill his dream of becoming a fighter pilot.
Upon completion of his training at Carida, where he surfaced in the end at the top of his class, he opted for an additional two years as a student instructor prior to being assigned to the defense of Coruscant itself - a highly desirable planet, and the seat of many a government over the course of galactic history. While on leave at Alderaan at the age of twenty-five, he met a girl by the name of Elsebetta, from Osirian, who was in school on Alderaan for political training, to be a diplomat. They hit it off, and it was a swift romance. They were married within a year, and soon thereafter, she bore him a son, Tadel. Life was good, and soon enough he snagged a posting to be closer to home.
Four years into their marriage, Elsebetta went to visit her parents, leaving Tadel with Kelly's parents on Alderaan. It was the last time he ever saw her in person. She died as a civilian casualty from a spike in conflict between the neigbouring worlds of Rhommamool and Osarian, the latter of which was her family's home. Assumed to have been committed to an institution after the mental breakdown the loss of his wife caused, Perris in fact had vanished. What he did or where he was during the span of time that followed is known only to him. The next thing that is known, after grieving for a while (and working as a test pilot for Incom Corporation), is his decision to sign up with Republic military. Again, his high skill as a pilot was noticed. With this, much like his time within the defense force of Coruscant, he rose in rank and responsibility.
Of course, there comes a time in every pilot's life when, for one reason or another, they must leave the active duty cockpit. This day came to pass for Perris, and he 'retired', going back to those that had been there for him when grief was his constant companion, and was once again working as a test pilot for Incom. This time, though, there was an added element - the younger CEO of Incom pulled on his ear regularly for his counsel, his opinions, and their meetings became regular, developing a good working relationship between himself and Alyesa Organa, the CEO. Still, it was a surprise when, one day, he received a missive that Incom and the position of CEO was being passed into his hands and was his responsibility.
Incom did well under his watch, but he was never truly comfortable in the position that had been foisted upon him, and eventually passed the torch to Pella Vun. Thereafter, Kelly has been enjoying a sort-of retirement, returning to his roots as a pilot, as an occasional flight instructor and guest lecturer. Now, with his son and daughter-in-law returning to active duty in the cockpit after the birth of their youngest and time grieving the passing of Kelly's brother-in-law, Erix, he finds himself spending a lot more time with his five grandchildren when neither of their parents are available, and when pilots nor grandchildren are in his charge, the Perris patriarch spends much of his time alone.
