[SIZE=9pt]Mono-molecular edge: Using common techniques the edge of the Keravnos s honed down to a molecular edge and then hardened using a laser to provide the weapon with an increased cutting power.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]Microrepulsors: The blade of the sword is studded with microrepulsors for two reasons. Firstly, in a similar vein to the Repulsehand, the gravitational field emitted by the microrepulsors allows each strike of the blade to deal more damage than one would expect from such a sharp blade. The second function is to alter the weight of the blade. Due to the gravitational field generated by the repulsors the blade can be made lighter or heavier as the situation requires, allowing it to the wielded as if it were a lighter blade when movement and agility is needed and when a cut is being made to swing with all the power of a heavier blade. [SIZE=9pt]Thunderbolt system: Taking advantage of the superconductive quality of Ultrachrome the Keravnos’ signature system is an lightning charge that travels the length of the blade. Due to the super conductive nature of the Ultrachrome blade the charge is retained with no power loss the blade can hold the charge delivered for an extended period of time, in fact until it is discharged. This discharge normally occurs when the blade strikes a target, the contact creates a circuit which allows the discharge of the stored current for that moment. The ampage of the charge can be varied by the capacitance device in the hilt of the Keravnos, but by default the ampage is set to [/SIZE][SIZE=9pt]lethal [/SIZE][SIZE=9pt]levels. It is important to note that the Keravnos needs to be actively charged in order to use the Thunderbolt system, and the system only has 20 charges before it needs to be recharged (A long process that can not be done on the battlefield.)[/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]Ultrachrome: The blade of the Keravnos is built out of Ultrachrome in order to take advantage of it’s super conductive characteristic to reflect attacks and to to allow the storage of electricity without any losses due to resistance in the blade.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]Only one edge: The nature of the Keravnos is a cutting blade, and while it has a point thrusts wit the weapon will not have the same penetrative power as a duelist’s weapon. Furthermore, the Keravnos only has a single cutting edge making back hand strikes impossible and allowing a skilled opponent an opportunity to drawn Asaraa off balance as she attempts to strike her opponent.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]Not indestructible: Unlike other materials used to create personalised weapons, such as Phrik or Songsteel, Ultrachrome isn’t nearly indestructible. Ultrachrome uses it’s super conductivity to dissipate the energy of attacks by spreading it across the blade’s surface. Unfortunately this means that if too much energy, for example from a prolonged contact with a lightsaber, the entire sword would melt. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]EMP: Much of the power of the sword comes from the technological systems built into it, and while these make the Keravnos a dangerous weapon, but leave it vulnerable to an emp which can take the swords more advanced systems offline leaving it as a simple ultrachrome blade. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=9pt]The lightsaber is without a doubt a powerful weapon, and one of the signature tools of the Jedi and Sith alike. And while there is no doubt that it is a powerful tool in the right hands, it is not necessarily the best tool for all situations. There are times when the elegance and portability of a lightsaber need to be replaced by an increased destructive power. In a galaxy at war, these moments seemed to come up more and more often, and it was for that reason Locke and Key Mechanics accepted a commissioned blade request for Jedi Asaraa Vaashe. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]Although a duelist by training and preference she wanted a sword that would match with her agility based combat style. The engineer’s at Locke and Key thought long and hard about how to best achieve this. Knowing that the majority of fights would be against other force users, or in the galaxy’s energy-rich combat environment they chose to construct the blade of the sword out of ultrachrome, taking advantage of the metal’s superconductor status to provide protection against blaster weapons and lightsabers. The superconductor status also made the thunderbolt system which gave the Keravnos it’s name, allowing for the efficient transmission of electricity across the blade. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=9pt]While a straight ultrachrome blade was an effective weapon for use against energy weapons the Keravnos was more than that due to two systems seeded into the weapon. The first was the set of microrepulsor’s seeded through the blade which can increase or decrease the weight of the blade, as well as providing a strike with additional hitting power. The second was the thunderbolt system which charges the blade with an electric charge which would then be discharged through the target of its next strike.[/SIZE]
