Key Communication [Dragon School]

The Force could do many things. One of such was allowing for a Jedi to communicate into the minds of others, regardless of whether they could use the Force or not. This was a skill that would be incredibly beneficial as a utility to any Jedi, considering one never knew when anonymous, or long range communication, could be useful on the field. Today, he would be teaching it in a group session, to three of his Padawans.

[member="Reggie Faayare"] was one of his more up and coming Padawans, who was still learning the ins and outs of the Force. He was about ready to go on more serious missions and obtain his lightsaber. Which meant that giving him whatever tools and utilities possible in order to survive on the field was a must.

[member="Ura Iolar"] was brand new as a Padawan, but there was a very specific reason that Josh had called her in today. Her sandman race were incapable of expressing emotions and feelings through their voice, but were still capable of doing so with their minds. But without the ability to showcase what was on their minds, they generally found themselves in a position where others found them cold and unfeeling. They had expressed concern at this issue, and Josh had offered a little while ago to try and assist in fixing this issue.

[member="Anora Vahn"] was his eldest Padawan out of the lot, though she had only just returned recently after an absence from the Silver Jedi Order. This ability was not something that he had been able to take the opportunity to teach her before she had left. Something that he would now rectify. The quest to get her back to where she should be had begun.

Each had a reason for being called to the training room. It was there that he waited, cross-legged on the floor in meditation.

One of the most interesting things about the force was the variety ways it could be used in not just battle, but for simple things like communicating. From what Reggie has learned about and what he's experienced from others using the force ability to contact him, telepathy had a variety of uses both inside and outside the battlefield. There was no denying the usefulness of the ability, and the time has come for Reggie, and a few other Padawan's, to learn how to use it himself.

Reggie was excited for this opportunity, not just because he'd be learning new abilities from his Master, but because he'd finally be meeting some of the other Padawan's who are also learning under [member="Josh Dragonsflame"]. These other Padawan's would be Jedi that he'd eventually reach Knighthood with and most likely work with out in the field. He was looking forward to learning more about them.

When the Padawan finally reached the training room, the first person he saw was Master Dragonsflame, who seemed ti be meditating. Not wanting to interrupt and understanding that the Jedi Master probably felt his presence already, Reggie just waited in silence for the time being.

Getting back into the swing of things wasn't the easiest of things, but not because the things asked of Anora were complicated. It was more of an emotional issue than anything else. Eenia was around somewhere, but the pair of them still hadn't come face to face - which wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but it did take away the one person Nora had, had to lean on the last time she endured all of this training and such. There was also the fact that she didn't recognize any of the class anymore. Everyone she had known? Gone. Whether they moved on, graduated, or whatever the case. So it was like starting over all over again, and that took it's toll.

But, that clearly wasn't going to stand in Anora's way. When she had been informed that she was expected in another class, she went. And walking through the doors to find the Master Jedi in the floor, in his usual meditative state? Nora rolled her eyes, but looked amused regardless as she approached her spot.

She did take note that she wasn't the first one to arrive, and she offered the other padawan a friendly enough wave, but then her attention shifted back towards Josh, and she waited.

Ura slowly walked down the hall, excited for the coming lesson. She really wanted to learn Force Telepathy, and now she had a chance. The Lervon finally turned into the room and stopped for a moment. There were already two other Padawans there, and that worried her slightly. She had some friends, but she still had trouble opening up to people. The sand-like being walked forward slowly, nodding to her fellow Padawans, and her master.

Everyone had arrived, then. When he sensed the presence of all three of them, he let out a calm exhale as he opened his eyes. Getting to his feet, he looked each one over, seeming to be in some way gauging their progress before speaking up.

"Alright, looks like everyone's here" He concluded. "With that in mind, a Jedi has a variety of capabilities at their disposal. At this point, the lot of you have had a chance to get a good feel for the Force and learn a few things. Most of which have most likely been combat related. But there are abilities that while not used as battling tools, can be useful in and out of combat. In this case, I will be teaching you how to utilize the Force for telepathy. Communication between teammates on the field is essential, so it is pivotal you learn to use this well."

The kicker was, if one were watching closely... The Jedi Master had not opened his mouth once. His words had instead resounded in their heads. He gave it a few moments for them to realize. Smirking lightly, he then spoke for real.

"Who would like to try first? Similarly to how you would focus on something for telekinesis, you should instead focus on projecting onto the subject."

Reggie listened intently to his Master, so much so that he didn't realize exactly what was going on until Master Dragonsflame spoke his last few words. The Padawan couldn't help but smile. He would make sure to pay closer attention to that for the future. It would do well to realize someone was communicating through telepathy, especially in a situation where talking could reveal the fact that someone was communicating with him.

When the three Padawan's were asked who'd try first, Reggie stepped forward. "I will if I may." Taking in Josh's guidance, Reggie focused on his Master and tried calling on the force to achieve his goal. It took a few seconds, but the Padawan seemed to get a connection. Or at least that's what he thought. Reggie tried to speak with his mind but it seemed as if he couldn't keep the connection stable.

Not wanting to get frustrated, Reggie stopped for a bit and breathed in slowly. When he released the air, he tried again, focusing on his Master. This time he was able to maintain the connection long enough to speak. "Can you hear me?" It didn't take long for the Padawan to lose the connection again, in which Reggie stopped again to allow the others to try. There must be something he wasn't doing quite right.

Observation was something Anora was good at, so when the Master in the room started speaking, it hadn't taken her long to realize that he wasn't moving his mouth. The brunette made a noise in her throat, and touched one of her temples very briefly with the pads of her fingers. It had been some time since she had heard anyone's voice in her head. It was something her sister could do with ease and the pair of them had been working on for Nora before...well, before all hell broke loose between them. So really, it was just something else to chalk up to Anora being rusty at.

Thankfully, someone else offered to go first, and that had Anora shifting her attention to the padawan at her side. Honestly she didn't know what she was watching for, all things considered, but she watched regardless up until he seemed to stop and either be done, or just done for the moment. That made her head turn so that she could look back at their Master and her brow pulled down in the middle.

"More mental exercises..." she was by no means complaining, not really at least. This was where she needed the most work after all. She had spent two years doing the very least amount of Force training that she could get away with while she was with her now missing Mandalorian friend. Still, at least this was something she had worked on before. Not extensively, and she wasn't good at it, but she kind of understood how to do it, even if she didn't quite understand how it worked.

Her focus stayed on Josh, "Nia used to say listening to me was like a bad comm signal..." and she wasn't wrong. The words cut in and out while Nora struggled to keep focus. Just meant it was something else to keep working on.

It took a while for the Lervon to even notice that her master wasn't moving his mouth. She was more or less just use to others not having mouths. Once she finally realized it, a happiness came off of her through the Force. She'd finally be able to more easily show that she wasn't some cold, heartless being to those who couldn't feel her emotions. It was a big part of why she had trouble around others. She felt like most just didn't see her as having emotions, however untrue that was. However, this shyness kept her from jumping up s quick as the one of the others there.

She watched carefully, seeing how the Force moved as Reggie and Anora reached out to use telepathy to try and speak to Master Dragonsflame. It was a bit interesting. Somewhat like what she had seen with Force Melding. Just not as... intense. At least in the Force. When she noticed that her fellow Padawans had finished, the Lervon did her best to focus. She hoped her natural Force Melding ability with others of her species would help her. As she reached out, when she thought she had a connection, she finally attempted to speak. If it worked, Josh would hear a Ura, but she wouldn't sound monotone. It was more, worried.

"D-did it work?"

Each Padawan tried their fare at it. The first two were shaky, but he was able to hear them and he nodded his head in turn. Though the third voice startled him a bit as he looked around a moment, before his brown eyes fixed on Ura. It hadn't taken too long to realize that Ura's tone had changed her voice in a sense from what he had grown used to. Then he smiled. Smiled, knowing that Ura could finally express herself. Ura's had also come out more clearly than the other two, and he suspected that the abilities she mentioned her race having before had allowed for her to segment into this, allowing for her to adjust into it easier. Practice still made perfect for all three though.

"Good, good. Remember how that feels. Remember locking onto someone's signature, or for a non-force being, their energy signature. Every living being has one, even without the Force, and thus you can project into them all the same. But your "connection" is still a little shaky. Next time, I want you to relax. Be confident, push your stresses aside and focus wholly on that projection without letting things cloud it."

He began to walk toward the door. "I hope you've remembered that well, because our next test will be in projecting that onto someone on the move. Call this an added lesson in tracking Force signatures as well. I'm gonna walk out. I'm going to move. And I'm going to move in ways you might not be expecting. But I want to hear from you. I want to hear where you think I am, or what you think I might be doing. Keep in constant contact. Practice that way. Once I return, there will be one more practice lesson before we call it for the day."

With that, he casually waved goodbye and walked out of the room. Giving them a few seconds to try and find him once the doors had shut, a small smirk crossed the Jedi Master's face as he began to stroll down the halls of the Silver Rest. But after about a minute, his pace began to quicken. He pulled out his comm.

"This is Master DragonsFlame to Silver Security, I'm going to be running a test in the outer areas, so don't fret if you see me. It's a training exercise for my Padawans, please bear with me. Thank you."

His gaze darted about to look for onlookers before he suddenly activated Force Speed. His brisk walk took the properties of a very swift run, and once he met a door to the outside, he took off at a run. Force Speed at the level he had learned it had made him almost like a blur in how fast he moved, dashing through the gardens and using his senses and instincts to tell him what was around him, as well as his knowledge of the Rest over the years allowing him to tell him where he was going.

The Master would use a Force Leap to launch himself at a high wall, backflipping off it before activating Force Flight while still in a state of Force Speed. Rocketing through the air, the Jedi Master would divebomb before coming up, before releasing the levitation long enough for him to do a few flips through the air, enjoying the exhilaration and the thrill of the flight and the feeling of Kashyyyk's air in his face. Activating Force Levitation, he allowed himself to land on one of the Rest's roofs as he released the ability, promptly sitting down to perch on the roof.

Josh took a deep breath as he sought to regain his bearings, reaching out in the Force to find his Padawans. Gauging for their feelings, their emotions.

Relax and be confident, right. Thinking that he could manage that, Reggie reached out with the force to keep track of his Master. 'I'll make sure I don't lose your signature during this exercise' Reggie thought. He was going to keep a lock on the Master from the time he left the room to the time he returns. In reality, the Padawan didn't grasp how difficult that could really be.

At first, everything was going well. Reggie had a lock on Josh's force signature and was able to hold it for awhile. Then all of a sudden, the Jedi Master sped up and made things a bit more difficult. The Padawan still had a lock though. "You won't get away that easily M-" The Padawan was speaking to Josh through the force, but lost Josh's force signature all of a sudden. He knew the Jedi didn't conceal it, but he couldn't get a assured lock on it. Using the force to sense, Reggie searched for the signature. It was much more difficult than he thought, finding himself unable to find the exact location. After awhile, Reggie calmed himself down and started to take his time in finding the signature again. He took the advice of his master and relaxed, while giving himself an healthy amount of confidence.

Looking, looking, looking. With some time, he finally found the signature again. Where was it exactly? Ah. "Are...are you flying Master? You have to teach me how to-" He lost the connection again. The Padawan was getting the hang of it though and would show that once he found the signature again. Soon enough, he found the signature again and moved in on it with the force. "I think I have the hang of this now. Now, if I had to guess....are you still using the force to stay in the air? Or are you in some flying craft?" Reggie could tell that Josh was in the air near the rest, but didn't know the Jedi master was sitting on a roof.
