OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To give Nicair an adopted child that allows him to feel human emotions.
  • Role: Adoptive Son
  • Links: "You're mine now"
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Age: 6 Standard years
  • Force Sensitivity: Force Dead
  • Species: Yuuzhan Vong
  • Appearance: Kheir is fairly tall for his age, as most Vong are. He stands at around 1.3m (4.3ft) and weighs 28.1kg (62lb). Having been adopted before going through much of the physical alterations and surgeries that Vong are exposed to throughout their lifespans, his body and face are relatively unmarked and lack the scarring. Save for the cuts and bruises that he had prior to Claden adopting him, he often chooses to decorate his face with different styles of face-paint from both Sociph and Mandalorian histories of which Nicair often helps him with. The young Vong is muscular for his age as well, having been trained (as much as a seven year old can be) alongside Nicair's own personal Sociph retinue. Like many Vong Kheir is completely bald and his ears are pointed. He is often seen wearing his own lighter version of a combination of Sociph and Mandalorian armor styles, if he isn't he is wearing clothing of Sociph design
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Kheir Claden, Kheir, Lizard, Should-Have-Left-You-There (Shlyt for short)
  • Loyalties: Nicair Claden
  • Wealth: Not wanting for anything. Money comes by way of Nicair.
  • Notable Possessions: None
  • Skills: About as combat trained as a seven year old can be.
  • Personality: Doesn't show much in the way of happiness. Can be easy to anger, learning to regulate his emotions. Does this adorable thing where he tried to kill Nicair for the first month of having been adopted. Quite the little rascal.
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Weapon of Choice: His creepy yet kind of cute demeanor. Like a baby lizard. If push comes to shove he will use knives or scaled down versions of weapons.
  • Combat Function: Would follow Nicair's orders in combat, but seeing as he is seven, the liability factor is in place.
Strengths:
  • They'll never see it coming- Kheir, while young, is still about as well trained as a seven year old can be having gone through the gauntlet of Nicair's training of his personal Sociph retinue during his war for the mantle of Qer'ak.
  • Force dead- Most, but not all direct force actions taken against Kheir will not work. Kheir cannot be sensed through the force and his intentions cannot be predicted or read. Things like mind trick, force drain, and telekinesis directly targeting him will not work. The only direct force techniques that will be effective are force lighting and force net. Alternatively, manipulating the air around Kheir will have an effect, such as gusts of wind, the air in his lungs, or manipulating an object to target him.
  • Mix of cultures- Through his upbringing, Kheir is being exposed to a multitude of different cultures and perspectives
Weaknesses:
  • Social butterfly he is not- Being both a Vong, and raised by Nicair, Kheir is not one for social situations and refuses to play with other kids his age. If he does speak he often says something inappropriate for the encounter or fumbles over words.
  • Mixed identity- A Vong adopted by a Mandalorian being raised on a planet with a culture that is fundamentally not Mandalorian causes confusion for the little guy.
  • Thing for pain- Like all Vong, Kheir's nervous system is hardwired to feel pain.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Kheir doesn't remember much of his life before Nicair adopted him. What he does remember is pain, worlds of it and with Nicair's adoption he remembers the relative absence of it. Unfortunately for Nicair, and his nights spent in peace, Kheir continued the behavior he displayed that prompted the Mandalorian to bring him into the fold in the first place. That is, Kheir tried to kill him numerous times in the first couple months of their living together, at times once or twice a night. Most children cry their parent's awake or let them know they either vomited or urinated, Kheir woke Nicair up by putting his hands around his adoptive father's throat or striking his face. Nicair, unlike most parents, didn't outright berate Kheir for this behavior, instead he gave the youngling Vong tips for perfecting his murderous little craft. The little creature learned quickly and the moment he would have succeeded had the Mandalorian not been prepared, Nicair gave him a sign of affection and went to sleep leaving Kheir to lay down next to him.

The youngest, and the strangest, addition to the Claden line has had difficulty adapting to life among both the Sociph and the Mandalorians. The Sociph themselves, with Nicair implementing certain elements of Mandalorian culture into their society, are sharing in the Vong's confusion and disgruntling. His continued practice and training at the hands of Nicair allow him something with which to focus on and give him effort to expend on a task which abate some of the growing annoyance. A growing fondness for his father has begun to grow as Kheir begins to see Nicair more and more as a genuine parental figure, reflecting in much the same way as Nicair's own upbringing.

Force dead- Any force use against or in manipulation of Kheir will be ineffective

Being Force Dead does not make you immune to every form of Force use. Vong (or any other Force Dead beings) cannot be sensed in the Force and their actions cannot be predicted through it. They are immune to most, but not all, direct applications of the Force. E.g. Mind Tricks won't work, you cannot Force drain them and a Force Push cannot ragdoll them.

However, for obscure reasons Force Lightning and Force Net work. These are the only direct Force techniques that do. Moreover, they can be indirectly affected by the Force. For instance, telekinetically pushing a Vong does not work, but using telekinesis to lift a boulder and throw it at one does.

In the NJO books Jedi also discover that they can also mess with Vong by manipulating the air around them (for instance, Luke yanks the air out of a Vong's lungs, Jacen and Anakin shove them with air pressure waves akin to TK). So please rephrase this Strength to something that takes this into account.
