APPEARANCE:
Tall and always clad in Vonduun crab armor, Kraal presents a menacing figure. He appears inexorably honorable and full of pride in the Yuuzhan Vong way, yet inwardly he is terrified that his great secret will be revealed.
BIOGRAPHY:
Born to warrior caste of Domain Kraal, Khu'Kullaan was one of two children. Twins. Yuuzhan Vong did not accept twins, therefore, Khu'Kullaan and his brother were forced to fight. Only one could survive. Khu'Kullaan lost the fight after being stabbed through his left eye. The Yuuzhan Vong thought him dead and sent his body off for disposal, but the Ho'Din Shaarla, tasked with removing the body, discovered he was still alive. Shaarla had no children of her own, but she managed to escape the Vong colony with some Human assistance. However, when Khu'Kullaan fully recovered and learned of the treachery, despite his youth, he killed her.
Afterward, the young Kraal escaped to the far off colony on Rodia, where he continued training in the warrior caste. He lied about his past by saying he was part of a small colony that was massacred by Bando Gora reavers, which was a common event since many beings in the galaxy still sought vengeance on the Yuuzhan Vong. Grudges ran deep. This lie would haunt him for the rest of his life.
Eventually, Khu'Kullaan rose up through the ranks to become Warmaster, for all intents and purposes the leader of the Yuuzhan Vong on Rodia. However, there had not been a Supreme Overlord since the days of the War. Each colony was led by its own Warmaster. Prophecies from the priests spoke of a being who would one day unite all the colonies once more and become the Supreme Overlord. But that day had not yet come.
Khu'Kullaan was not one to be manipulated, yet when the CIS came and annexed Rodia he managed to arrange a deal, becoming Viceroy of the sector. However, the CIS requested use of Yuuzhan Vong Yorik ships in exchange. Khu'Kullaan did not see this as a diplomatic defeat, since he was one of those who still held to the old beliefs and despised machinery, despite the fact that the 800 years had brought about changes and it was not all that uncommon to see a Yuuzhan Vong armed with a blaster or flying in a typical starship. However, tradition does not die easily and Khu'Kullaan reinstated the old beliefs.
This was all the surface story that was told to the public. Only Genesis Rostu and Khu'Kullaan knew the truth. The terrible truth. Genesis had dug into Kraal's past and discovered his sudden appearance in Rodia. After using his extensive spy network to research heavily into the Kraal warrior, he discovered, or rather guessed at, Khu'Kullaan's secret. He knew the truth, or part of it at least, enough to know that Kraal had fled due to some sort of disgrace. But that knowledge was enough to allow the leader of the CIS to manipulate the Yuuzhan Vong warrior, only adding to Kraal's sense of self-disgrace.
