The Amalgam had been given yet another test by The Unholy Spirit. One that again involved the Surge Epidermis.
The last time she had worn it had nearly proven ruinous but this test was worse.
As a show of faith The Brain Demon commanded The Amalgam to actively surrender to the remant of her old master's persona should it prove strong enough to sieze control. The goal was to take back control even easier.
While trying to kill the apprentice of no less than
Varloc
. On Illum no less.
The Amalgam had slipped on the pearlescent white armor with dread. There was a logic to it, of course, as one does not casually attack a Darth's apprentice.
But with this armor, which bore remnants of her master in it, was still extremely high risk. Indeed, she could already feel it and her master's lightsaber working in tandem to try and subvert her. Extreme discipline kept the two halves to the Congregation's ressurection seperated as she piloted her craft, flesh bubbling and wriggling as the beast struggled with the ghost of another beast for control. The stealth drive was kept up as she descended into the atmosphere.
It was a sudden turbulence that did it. Taking her focus off to right the craft caused more lapse in the internal struggle. She felt herself slowly slipping away as she landed, staggering to the exit, flesh constantly writhing.
She had sacrificed so much for power. Now it was to the point she was having to risk her very soul for it regularly and prove her devotion to the Dark Side.
As per the Unholy Spirit's command, the Amalgam permitted herself to lose the fight as it had gotten strong enough to manifest, her flesh resetting to that of a pale woman with platinum blonde hair.
It was definitely not the Amalgam who was in control by the time she stepped off the craft, but her Master, The Congregation, and she was already rotting internally due to her intense corruption as she headed out into the snow, whispering unholy things to keep her presence cloaked from Varloc as she began the trek through the snow drift, flesh churning over her skeleton before she forced control back on herself.
But the Amalgam waa already struggling. It was her sheer will that prevented The Congregation from even thinking about attempting a magical ritual to leave her permanently in control.
The Congregation however, hoped that if she could kill the apprentice before The Amalgam got control back, then the Unholy Spirit would at last speak and show her favor.
"This time..." The Congregation hissed, wincing as the Amalgam struggled very hard for control on the inside.
"This time, my power shall not fail me."
The Amalgam, possessed by her Master's remnant, trudged through the snow more aggressively, two kilometers out from the target She lacked the subtlety of whoever else was here to kill the target...she was just going to get as close as she could and then
drain him in front of Varloc.
So yeah, she was even more evil then usual. Hard to top considering how evil she normally was but the Congregation had been that vile in life, and moreso in undeath.
