Kira wields a standard lightsaber with an extended saber hilt, for greater leverage in swings, although it isn't as long as a great saber hilt. The hilt is made of a metal frame with a leather wrap to provide grip texture. Features a rotating switch as opposed to a standard lightsaber button for activation. The lightsaber blade is an unstable green. -

Kira is of fairly standard in terms of height for a Cathar but has a fairly muscular and athletic frame. While having more formal Jedi dress [reference], Kira prefers a more urban and casual appearance on most days [reference], much to the chagrin of more traditional Jedi in the order. In combat she wears lightweight body armor suit [reference] (OOC Note: Armor is just for show for now, until I can write up a page for it).

For all her life, Kira has struggled with emotional instability. As a Cathar, she has naturally faced strong emotions in her life, but unlike a lot of other Cathar Jedi, Kira still struggles to control her emotions, even after becoming a Knight. Often, she can be blunt, rowdy, impatient and quick to anger, but she has shown incredible compassion, kindness, humility, and a willingness to forgive those who have done wrong. Her emotional instability is only overcome by her sheer willpower, while often making her stubborn, it has proven that she is dedicated to the light side of the force. With proper guidance, it's believed that she can overcome her issues, but with the shortage of masters among the New Jedi Order, Kira has been largely tasked helping herself in these problems.
Outside of work, Kira is a known partier and drinker. While she has never done anything particularly egregious, always being careful to separate her free time from her work, she has drawn concern from the order on several occasions and likely has received denouncements for this behavior. Often, she is known on a first name basis at some of the clubs and bars around the Jedi Temples she works at.
Kira is a model of physical health and can handle most sentient life-forms in a fight, even without enhancement from the force. She is also considered to be very talented in lightsaber combat. In a duel she can use the force and her talents to quickly overwhelm and overpower even the most capable of opponents. However, she tends to lean on an aggressive style in general, on top of the typical weaknesses of Ataru and is likely to tire herself out against someone capable in Soresu. She is also not the most capable outside of direct combat or enhancing her own physical abilities with the force. That said, given her battle meditation, there are signs that she has potential to grow from this niche but not without some degree of training, or a great deal of self-teaching.
Kira has expressed very mild claustrophobia in the past. She can still wear tight-collared clothing, something she does frequently in an attempt to overcome her phobia, and can be in closed rooms without panicking, although she'll insist on opening a window or door for her own comfort. However, she will actively show discomfort in small or crowded rooms, elevators, etc. and will actively avoid small crawl spaces.

Kira was born and raised on Coruscant, typically in low income areas. Her parents were very caring, but her father was a known criminal, involved in local gangs and weapons smuggling. In order to get to her father, a rival gang kidnapped her in order to hold her to ransom. To keep her under control, she was shoved into a locker, barely her size. They had planned on selling her off into slavery until she was rescued by a Jedi that her mother had contacted to rescue her. Despite her hesitation, Kira's mother decided it was best for Kira to go with the Jedi to the order, when they had discovered her force inclination.
Early into her training, Kira would often lash out at those around her. A significant topic that continues to anger her to this day when brought up is her father. To her, it was his activity that had put her in danger and that put her into the locker. It was a point of her early training, to attempt to get her to forgive her father and move on. Her primary mentor in this regard was a Jedi Knight by the name of Tregar Colsay. Tregar attempted to get Kira to confront her problems by bringing her father to the Temple. Kira lashed out at her father, cutting him in the face with her claws. The set back drove a wedge between her and Master Tregar, and she was re-assigned a new master to continue her training.
Despite her outburst, she openly admitted that her behavior was inappropriate, even if Tregar's tactic was out of question. She committed an oath to light side, which she took very seriously. Toward the latter part of her training, she was confronted by visions of her mother, suffering. She would violate her training and attempt to find her mother. During her training, Kira's father's criminal activities increased and he grew distant from her mother, until he left her for another, despite the cultural implications. Seeing her mother's near-suicidal state in response to this, caused Kira to go into a rage.
She would confront her father and was very close to striking him. Apparently, he had decided to distance himself from Kira's mother after a rival gang attempted to kidnap her, hoping to not bring the consequences of his actions down on her, like he had with Kira. So he found another and faked a relationship with them, so as not to make Kira's mother a target again. Despite her fury at him, despite every fiber of her being wanting to strike him down for what he had done, Kira would choose to spare her father, choosing instead to bring him into custody for his criminal activities. She would also turn herself to the Jedi and would admit to seeking out her father for revenge. Although she was disciplined for her behavior, she was spared exile from the order on the promise that she would better her behavior. She agreed.
Not too long afterward, despite still struggling with her emotions, Kira was granted status as Jedi Knight, in order to assist the efforts of the New Jedi Order in defending the Galaxy and Galactic Alliance. Kira would first see battle on Dubrillion, assisting the New Imperial Order against the Sith Empire. Encountering the Sith and the atrocities she would see them commit would be a strong influence for her stubbornness against the Dark Side. However, she would continue to keep a strong distrust of NIO, and would be open about her opinions against imperial governments in general. On at least one occasion there was a near incident between her and NIO troops at a local bar after taking part in the battle of Bastion and operation Kyber Dark. Ultimately, her decision to back away is what defused the situation.
Kira would take part in the invasions of Felucia and Korriban, attempting to greatly weaken the Sith powerbase. Although successful, she would encounter great hardship in attempting to hold it against the Sith Eternal. After the battle she would become openly critical of the strategic decision of the attack, pointing out that the victory was ultimately temporary and that only a permanent invasion would destroy the Sith. She would further lament the Sith reprisal at Jedha, and not being there to assist her fellow Jedi.
