Akio Kahoshi
Peace through Order
Name: Klaxxi
Designation: Sentient
Homeworld: Ozzlekk (Adopted) /Hixx (Original)
Language: Navixx (written language only)
Average height of adults: Three meters
Skin color: Black
Hair color: Fine hair on their spines are virtually invisible
Breathes: Type 1
Strengths:
- Natural Force Ability – the Kaxxi have a naturally high concentration of midiclorians that developed as a survival mechanism on their home, and they developed two ways of using the Fore naturally.
Force Cloak – Like the original Jedi skill discovered in the early days of the Klaxxi have the ability to warp light and sound around them to make them virtually undetectable. - Telepathy – Unable to communicate complex thoughts through normal means, the Klaxxi learned to communicate through the Force. When they speak with their slave species, their “voices” are adapted by the individual, so they ear the Klaxxi in the language and manner they feel best fits.
[*]Natural Hunters – The Klaxxi were the apex hunter on their original homeworld. They specialized in tracking movement through vibrations in the air, as well as through scent. Hunting at night, the Klaxxi prefer to strike their foes from the darkness and without a sound.
[*]Big and powerful – This species is very large for a sentient, and along with that size comes power. A Klaxxi is capable of crashing human bones with a blow from one of their legs
[*]Natural armor – Klaxxi exoskeletons are hard, and can deflect many conventional weapons with easy. They are also naturally resistant to energy attacks, with much of the energy being deflected along their entire body much the way songsteel does.
Weaknesses:
• Limited Force – Outside their two natural Force abilities, Klaxxi find using the Force very difficult. Only a very few, most likely those that would otherwise be Force adept, can use more than cloak and telepathy. These rare Klaxxi typically becomes the species’ secret weapons.
• Carnivorous – Klaxxi eat meat, and they eat a lot of it. Without a steady supply they grow weak and sluggish. Plant material cannot be digested by their system, and passes right through.
• Susceptible to piercing – Their exoskeleton’s one weakness appears to be piercing. Armor piercing bullets, and even sharp blades, can pierce their skin and get to the soft flesh behind.
Distinctions: The Klaxxi appear like giant spiders, with their front pair of legs adapted for manipulation of objects. They blend easily in shadows, and are covered in thick spines. Less visible are the fine hairs on the spines that are used to read air vibration.
Average Lifespan: 150 years
Races: Queens, Hunters, Builders, and Breeders
Diet: Primarily the Ozzlites, or any other sentient species they capture.
Communication: Force Telepathy, Navixx (written language)
Culture: Klaxxi culture is separated into three distinct races: the hunters, builders, and breeders. Hunters act as their warriors, these are the ones that travel the Galaxy. They lead their slaves species to war, and conquer new worlds. They average a half meter larger the averge, and are the most powerful of their species. The builders run their society. They manage their cities, make decisions on where hunters will attack next, and otherwise control the species. The breeders are the smallest of the species and in many ways the most important. They run the large breeding camps of their slaves species, make sure the species grow properly and produce offspring as often as they can. Thhey also decide a slave’s future, how they shall serve their Klaxxi masters. Those found unworthy of serving one of the three races are designated as food.
Within the three races the hierarchy is determined by strength and skill. When a Klaxxi comes of age (about ten years of age), it joins its races local forces. There it must challenge its superiors to combat to determine who is stronger, and therefore who should be in charge. To preserve the strength of the species as a whole, winning by killing an opponent results in reduction of rank rather than the opposite. A true ruler should be able to force their subjects to submit without the need to kill them. Leading the species is the Queen, who produces all Klaxxi offspring. While typically the Queen allows the builders to run the Klaxxi, she retains the power to force her own will upon them.
Technology level: Klaxxi technology is highly advanced, adapting the captured technology of all their slave species.
General behavior: Klaxxi are motivated by one need: to eat. To do this they conquer planets, enslave entire species, and breed those species for food.
History: It is impossible to know exactly what happened, but thousands of years ago the Klaxxi homeworld was destroyed. The Queen at the time sealed hundreds of thousands of eggs, including two queen eggs, in a hibernation vault on Hixx Minor, their homeworld’s moon. She also sealed enough technology that when the eggs hatched they could rebuild their society. Then the moon was implanted with a electromagnetic device of incredible power that actually launched the moon away from its home planet.
The electromagnetic device, linked to powerful sensors and computer, guided it protecting the moon from colliding with anything dangerous. Hixx Minor drifted through space for untold millennium until it grew close to a planet they would later name Ozzlek. Reaching out, the electromagnetic device brough the moon into close orbit and deactivated the hibernation vault.
The Klaxxi hatched, and immediately started eating each other having naturally split into two separate groups: one under each queen. Eventually one queen devoured the other, and by this time the Klaxxi hatchlings had grown large and smart enough to start using the technology left for them. Moving to the planet below, they discovered a primitive species they named the Ozzlites. This species was quickly enslaved, and became the Klaxxi’s primary source of food.
Eventually the Klaxxi developed hyperdrive, after a visitor arrived from out system. Using this and their Ozzlite slaves they began to conquer other worlds, needing more slaves to supply their ever growing population. Now they control planets throughout the Unknown Region, having used the collapse of the Chiss as an excuse to invade as many worlds as possible.
