Strengths:
- [Heads Down] Due to the KM-813's innate high rate of fire, the impressive fields of fire it lays down are second to none as far as infantry weapons go. It is perfect for laying down a suppressive field of fire and keeping the enemy's heads down or risk being cut in half.
- [Flexible] The multi-purpose nature of the KM-813 is one of its benefits as it is suited to deal with armored vehicles/droids or lay down oppressive amounts of fire over a medium to close range.
- [Iron Man] The addition of a personal deflector shield gives added protection to the user who will typically find themselves as a primary threat on the field. The shield provides partial coverage of the upper body, allowing them to move or remain stationary and not be immediately put out of action from a hit to the chest. This shield coverage also makes it excellent for firing from a crouched or entrenched position, minimizing the exposed areas.
- [Move It] The KM-813 is an exceptionally heavy weapon to wield and use. Without the wielder being an exceptionally strong individual or with the assistance of an exoskeletal suit, moving at a non-hindering pace can prove to be extremely difficult and as a result, forces the handler to move at a slow pace or remain stationary when using.
- [Hot, Hot, Hot] Because of its heat output when firing and alternating between firing modes, the KM-813 is not capable of firing for extended periods of time as compared to its cousins that are exclusively rotary cannons. If the weapon becomes too hot, it will not be able to function properly.
- [One at a Time] Though it is a multi-purpose heavy weapon, the KM-813 is not capable of having its ammunition and firing type in the heat of the moment. It requires anywhere between 15-20 seconds to swap the firing mode and cells from rotary cannon to blaster cannon. The KM-813 is not capable of firing two different ammunition types at the same time.
- [Got Some Kick] As expected of any sort of rotary cannon, the KM-813 produces a high amount of recoil that requires a second or two to readjust aim to compensate for it. This also makes it extremely difficult to use if the user is in any way injured from their chest to their arms.
DESCRIPTION
The KM-813 'Scrapper' cannon is a multi-purpose weapon for use by heavy weapon specialists. It is a very experimental and prototype design that only has had a few produced for field testing. As opposed to its distant and ancient ancestor, the Z-6 Rotary Cannon produced during the Clone Wars, the KM-813 features a quad barreled design, producing a slower rate of fire compared to its aforementioned relative though still rapid enough to outclass fully automatic rifles by a wide margin.
The KM-813's greatest distinction, however, is its versatility on the field. It's primary function as a rotary cannon allows it to do as any heavy gunner would do, and lay down an impressive field of fire. The KM-813 requires an external power pack that connects to the rear of the gun in order to be supplied with the power it needs to fire in either of its modes.
The KM-813 is well suited for those dealing with anything from infantry to armored targets at medium range as it has the option to switch from a high powered rotary cannon to a slow firing, semi-automatic blaster cannon that can fire anti-armor rounds that tear through heavy units and vehicles alike. The addition of a deflector shield projected over the area where the gunner holds the weapon also provides additional protection to the wielder.
