Kneex was in his early teen years when the Order showed up. Up to this moment in his life, he would never expect something out of the usual for him. He knew that he could tap in some level of the force, but it wasn't something of note, actually his parents advised that it could lead to trouble. So he took efforts to hide his potential. In any case, the Silver Jedi Order found him and invited to the Order. It took sometime until a decision was made, his parents were reticent in letting him go, however in the end they considered that could be dangerous to their son and let him join the Order.
The Jedi training was rough. The rodian wasn't physically or mentally prepared to handle it, so took a couple years until he could say that he learned to fit in. Kneex wasn't especially talented in anything, but he managed pull it off.
