Know When To Fight (PM to join)

Tython
Republic Space

This had been long coming, ever since the One Sith had taken Coruscant and cut straight to the heart of Republic Space we all knew this had to happen. We had been busy, fighting back and trying to preserve unity, but finally we came around to actually do it. Move all the valuable material from Tython; the Archives, Artifacts, Holocrons, so basically two encyclopedias, a sword and half a holocron. Maybe a bit more.

It didn’t mean we were abandoning Tython though, it was still very much the planet of the Jedi, it just meant that we were being realistical. So close to the One Sith… it was foolish to keep everything here still, it would be transported off planet and redistributed to various different key locations in the Republic.

I stood outside the Temple, and watched as the transports arrived to carry everything away. Some people might consider this a cowardly act, they would say we needed to stand firm in the face of danger. But this needed to happen, in my opinion and the opinion of other Masters of the Order.

And so it would happen.

Of the transports descending toward [member="Michael Sardun"] and the temple, the foremost was a battered old YV-929, the Gypsymoth, Captain J.Q.Merrill commanding. Two encyclopedias, a sword, and half a holocron about summed it up, in Jorus' estimation, and that was after the modern Order had scoured every known temple, catacomb, and Flesh Raider camp at one point or another.

He set down on the landing pads by the front of the temple, and disembarked, shrugging on his jacket. It looked like rain. "Afternoon, Master Sardun. What you got for the convoy? Any complications?"

It certainly was a good idea to do what they were doing. When he had been Knighted, Zaren had proclaimed the title of Protector of Tython a long time ago, and when the stasis pod he had been buried in had been recovered by the Jedi Grandmaster, she had made him aware that there was already a Jedi Master who was the Headmaster.

Of course, that didn't conflict with the Jedi Knight's title, he understood that. But now, it was more or less something that had been relatively quiet; his ascension to Headmaster of Tython's Jedi Academy. He had been contacted quite recently by the Jedi Grandmaster that with the unfortunate death of Darron Wraith, as the Protector of Tython, it was his duty to take the mantle of Headmaster.

She hadn't said so in so many words, but that's what he had broken it down to.

Previously, he had tried to do what [member="Michael Sardun"] and [member="Jorus Merrill"] were doing. He had gone to Phylis Alince, and she had tried to copy what she could into digital copies, and send the rest to other places. Kiskla had agreed with him, but at the time he hadn't been the Headmaster of Tython, unfortunately. Now that he was, he could do what was necessary for the protection of Tython.

Walking out of the Temple, I saw Master Sardun and a new addition to the Jedi Council. Wasn't he special? Of course he had other things to do, like following the lead that he had come to find about a lost holocron on Tython. His jurisdiction. His responsibility.

Descending the steps, he bowed to both of the Jedi Masters. "Where do you plan on taking... The information we have left?"

"Not just the info, Bishop, the holocrons an' the artifacts too, as many as we can move. And the academy. This planet's way too close to the Sith front lines, way too hard to defend, an' its security's been compromised with Apparine's defection. I'm frankly amazed we ain't been hit here yet. When the war's over, we'll be back. For now, it's evac time. This ain't a safe place anymore.

"As for where it's headed, some'll go to Ossus, some to our temple on Ruusan at the Valley of the Jedi. Temporary fix, but the best we can do."

"Yes, I tried to discuss this with Master Alince. She intended to make digital copies of the more important things that we stored here." With a shrug of his shoulders, he looked at his wrist and the chrono that was there just kept on ticking. "I have a lead on a hidden Holocron quite a distance from here. I was just on my way to my speeder."

There it was. If it was true, it was Odan-Urr's Holocron with additional information upon it, but what that information was, was unknown to him.

Zaren nodded his head. Heh ad permission from a member of the Council, now he was ready. "I'll give you my frequency number." He paused for a moment whilst he thought upon it, and then he said, "38X-2N3." Bowing again to the Jedi Master, he turned and headed to his speeder around the corner.

Once he was upon it he started it up and his hands clenched the handles. It wasn't everyday that he used a speeder, usually he just used the Force to run across the land, but now, time was of the essence and a speeder certainly moved faster than him at max speed.

Bringing the speeder close to [member="Jorus Merrill"], Zaren said, "I'll keep in contact."

Then he was off.

Zaren's speeder tore through the land scape.

Grass was certainly left leaning in the direction that he had sped towards, and Zaren slowly pulled out a datapad that showed the location that he had to head to.

It was several miles away, in what appeared to be the ruins of a failed Jedi Temple built into the side of a mountain. It was most likely the temple that Odan-Urr had been at so many thousands of years ago. It was most certainly an old one, probably a praxeum of some sort.

Soon enough, he saw it in the distance.

A small crew of Jedi Knights emerged from the Temple, bearing armored carry cases. Jorus took a moment to crack the lids and take a gander at the three Noetikons. Not the most useful things in the world, from what little he knew, but they'd been handy in time gone by, and the Jedi had taken pains to secure them -- well, slip of the tongue. To take them. Security here remained abysmal.

He close the lids and carried the Noetikons aboard the Gypsymoth himself, entrusting them to the care of Miktik, Beyyr and company. That right there comprised the bulk of the Order's remaining possessions on Tython.

The ruined Academy was large. It's higher platforms may have collapsed, but it was still a tall powerful building. Slowing down the speeder while he grew closer, he smiled. It truly was a sight. When he focused upon it he felt like he could imagine what the temple had once resembled.

Tall spires daring to touch the clouds, and then he was shocked out of his reverie as he got off of the speeder and walked into the ruins. There wasn't much for him to do at this point, except search.

Now was the time to do it.

He expanded his presence out in a force sense, intending to cut down on the searching time and finding the Holocron easily enough by sensing it's presence through the Force.

In the rubble of the Jedi Temple stood Zaren. searching for what he had come for. A Holocron that could quite possibly hold information about the past. Information that not even the temple that he had gone to when he was a Padawan had held.

Now that he was actually in the rubble, he felt as if it couldn't have been much more than a research facility, an outpost. A large portion of the outpost was still standing outside, but he was certain that inside the outpost, the part inside of the mountain, it would still be in good condition.

Passing through what must've once been a doorway, he blinked several times so that his eyes could adjust to the darkness, and then he continued forwards, rubbing his eyes as if that'd help. It was calling to him, and he meant to get to it.

He was in the mountain now, and if his senses were correct he was quite close.

He moved through the winding halls of the outpost, his senses guiding him through the halls. He never understood as to why the ability of Force Sight was so unique. In his time it had been used quite frequently, almost daily. But then again many members of the Jedi Order were miralukan, or half miralukan, and therefore it was quite possible for them to teach other members of the Jedi Order how to use the ability quite easily.

There was quite a bit of alien Jedi too. In this time, and his own time.

Pulling his comlink out of his pocket he sent a message to [member="Jorus Merrill"] reading:

I am near the end of my search. Once I find the Holocron, I shall take care of it.

Zaren continued into another room, and when he turned his head to scan the room, he casted a force sight, and as he focused it for a moment on a single location, he felt a powerful focal point in the Force, and he slipped his lightsaber into his hand as he strode towards the wall.

Seeing the shape in the wall, he pressed the familiar button gently, and then the purple beam extended out with the glorious sound of...

Snap-Hiss.

And he cut a large circle in the wall, making a wide berth to avoid actually destroying the Holocron, and it fell to the floor just before he snatched it out of the air and held it against his chest.

Turning off his lightsaber, he contemplated sending another message to the Jedi Councillor, but instead started to make his way back to the Jedi Academy. Once he safely secured it, it would be time to bulk the meagre defenses of Tython and to actually make it's defenses... Formidable.
