KORMOV ALTEN
NAME: Kormov Alten
FACTION: New Imperial Order
RANK: Captain, Imperial Armada
SPECIES: Human
AGE: 32
SEX: Male
HEIGHT: 5'6"
WEIGHT: 170 lbs
EYES: Steel-Blue
SKIN: Pale white
FORCE SENSITIVE: No
STRENGTHS :
EXPERIENCED LEADER: Kormov was not blessed with physical attributes or height over his fellow soldiers. Instead, he rose through the Imperial Navy's Ranks (at that time, a part of the Sith Empire) by maximizing his subordinate's traits and abilities. However, Kormov is respected by nearly all of his troops because he accepts total responsibility for his mission. In Kormov's eyes, his subordinates likely failed or misunderstood execution of their mission because of him. Court martials, demotions, and other disciplinary measures occur far less on his ship. This has created a safe environment where any of Kormov's subordinates can voice their criticisms of their commander, many of them saving countless lives and likely the Stargazer itself from destruction.
BOOKWORM: Kormov read whatever book he could lay his hands on. Once reaching the Sith Fleet Academy, Kormov read intently on the star fighter and ship tactics and battles of old, as well as writings of notable Sith and the Order of the Grey. Today, he delights or intimidates his fellow Captains with witty banter in political and philosophical discussions, and continues to consume books on tactics. The knowledge gained from these books has saved the Stargazer form considerable casualties.
NEUTRAL :
SENTIMENTAL: Kormov has always had a soft spot for the men under his command, endearing Kormov to his followers. Unlike other Captains, he takes his lunch in the common mess and making it a point to speak with the engineers, cargo officers, and pilots. This helps further Kormov's understanding of each department, it's strengths and weaknesses, and of various issues far below his notice that he can fix. However, this attachment also makes Kormov more complacent then he should be. Punishments are sometimes delayed well beyond reason, leading to occasional departmental inadequacies.
WEAKNESSES :
UNFIT: Kormov was never a strong physical specimen, shorter then the average imperial soldier. He suffers from mild asthma attacks and various combat wounds, one which left him with a considerable limp in his left leg. His marksmanship with his blaster pistol is iffy above short distances, and surviving for extended periods of time in harsh environments would be difficult for him.
THINKER: A well thought out and intelligent individual, Kormov prefers time to think about possible strategies. In the pitch of battle this isn't an issue to Kormov, as he spends considerable time before any planned engagement researching the area he intends to strike. However, sudden surprise changes to the battlefield or ambushes often overwhelm Kormov, who relies on rudimentary and basic commands to his ship until he can properly analyze the battlefield and formulate the most maximized strategy. He relies heavily on his bridge staff during these times.
APPEARANCE:
Kormov stands at a short 5'8" and a weight of around 170 lbs. His face is pale and gaunt.
BIOGRAPHY:
Kormov was born on Muunilist, and when it was time for him to pick a trade, he decided on joining the Sith Empire's ranks. A wealthy human, his first command position was as one of the squad leaders in the 711th Tie Squadron. From there he was promoted to the commander of an IPV, and was progressively promoted to captain of the Stargazer, following the NIO attack on Dantooine. Kormov began to resent the Sith leadership, almost exclusively force-sensitive, and their senseless and bloody orders, specifically during the Sundering of Mandalore. After Irveric Tavlar's proclamations at the Sith Assembly and the beginning of the NIO, Kormov followed Tavlar's new faction and defected from the Sith Empire to join the New Imperial Order.
In any free time he has, Kormov is an obssesed Dejarik player, winning many competitions in his youth and during his time as an IPV commander.
SHIP:
Kormov commands the Stargazer (pictured above), a standard Gladiator Class Cruiser, known for it's defensive capabilities against fighters and well rounded utility. Gladiators are often deployed in place of larger ships to deal with smaller threats in a more cost effective manner, or as picket ships designed to screen Capital Class ships from incoming fighter attacks.
