- Two fully articulated 'Scythe' arms - Very strong curved blades mounted onto arms with powerful servomotors. This allows the walker to swing the blades with force to destroy objects in front of the vehicle. The swing radius is ~8 metres.
- Two Mounted E-Web Heavy Repeating Blasters - Manned anti-personnel turrets designed to take out infantry and prevent boarding. Gunner's head and torso is exposed while firing.
- Hardy - The Kosa features a thick layer of Durasteel armour that is designed to take hits and slough off the walker. A more resistant Turadium chassis underneath provides further protection for vital components. This means that the Kosa can sustain a great number of hits before it is rendered inoperable.
- EMP resistant – due to a relatively low number of electronic systems, and thick layer of metal, the walker's function is not impeded from EMP attack. However, constant bombardment from EMP technology will eventually render it non-functional.
- Single Operator – The simplicity of the design allows the walker to be piloted by a single operator, however the topside blaster emplacements cannot be manned without extra crew.
- Poor mobility – The walker is heavy and slow. The large amount of armour on the legs prevents mobility, resulting in poor turning speed. While it has good grip strength, the scythes may have to be used if the walker encounters steep terrain.
- Poor visibility – reliance on old-fashioned viewports limits the visual range to the front of the walker. A full 360 view can only be obtained by exiting out of the topside hatch.
- Anti-tank vulnerability – The walker has no protection or counter to high-yield armour-piercing weapons that are designed to destroy tanks.
DESCRIPTION
In an age of technological improvements and increasingly sophisticated walkers comes an ugly, inelegant hunk of metal.
The Kosa Mk-1 is a brute-force solution to an entrenched enemy, designed to absorb hits and tear apart fortifications. It does this via its 'scythes' – two long curved pieces of Doonium metal attached to each arm. Powerful servomotors in the limbs give it the strength to tear buildings and terrain to pieces. It also serves an important role in clearing away dense foliage to create a path for ground troops. Its armour means that these walkers could often be tasked with clearing terrain without a defensive detail.
The Kosa features an archaic control design, relying largely on mechanical components and a single pilot chair. The lack of electronic systems means that the walker remains functional against all but the most aggressive EMP attacks. The vehicle also functions well in humid environments, where delicate electronics are normally compromised.
The Kosa is nicknamed "The Coffin" among soldiers, due to its rectangular shape and claustrophobic interior.
