SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
- Devastating, precise firepower against ground targets that absolutely need to be wiped out.
- Meiro Deactivation System and anti-PD shielding make them harder to shoot down without strong PD/anti-missile systems, although still possible.
- Tactical Nuke: If you NEED to absolute annihilate something or some group that is relatively immobile or create large amounts of damage across an area/can be used for radiological area denial, it could be an effective choice.
- High cost of production due to high quality components, only found on relevant space submarines.
- Not very effective if launched against space targets due to the fact it does not have HPI cloaking and leaves a very distinct large and distinct thermal plume immediately when fired that gives away the location of the submarine. Nukes also do not work well in space and one would be better off using the stealth torpedoes instead.
- Tactical Nuclear Warhead*: A tactical nuclear weapon is not a cure-all to every situation. Friendlies within range WILL take damage. Heavy radiation levels make it impractical to secure a location for both droids and regular troops for two to three days making it not useful if you want to actually use anything in a given location. Bad press is guaranteed if used in areas with civilians. Radiological warhead activation can be almost instantly detected by technology/sensed through the Force once the safeties are off at launch, the missile must be fired from comparatively long range to avoid damage to the launching vessel, and the warhead size is tactical, not strategic-it can devastate buildings/smaller sections of cities for example but will not be wiping them off the map.
*Player characters can use this to escape the worst effects of this or it completely if reacting fast enough by this for example, it's not a "gotcha!" weapon!
DESCRIPTION:
The second tactical nuclear configuration of the Koshmar Groundstrike Missile, with a variable tactical nuclear warhead that can be ranged up or down in size (up to a maximum of approved site rules on what constitutes battlefield level or whatever governs these kinds of things).
