Beneath the armor, Kreslin has short black hair with grey streaks throughout it, a seemingly high mixture despite the relative age of the man. Hazel eyes stare out from a heavily creased brow, and a long burn scar runs across his left temple to the corner of his ear. Kreslin has dark skin, the only inheritance from generations of his old life growing up on Tatooine. Built broadly across the chest, Kreslin keeps the slave scars across his back well hidden beneath his armor, determined to keep the last traces of his past well behind him.
BIOGRAPHY:
Kreslin had no special childhood. He had no happy memories of his youth, or strong bonds of friendship with others. Instead, his earliest memories were of the blazing heat of Tatooine, the lash of s slavers whip, and the cries of the hungry every night as he lay curled up in the corner that was his home. Kreslin never knew his parents, for his mother gave birth to him in the poor conditions of the slave pits of a notable Hutt Lord. The efforts of the slaves only medically inclined comrade saved Kreslin's life, though it was too late for his mother.
As he grew, it was clear that Kreslin had a strong build, even compared to the other children older than Kreslin. He was selected for Arena training, and by the age of ten, he was approved to join his masters gladiator school. The next decade of Kreslin's life was spent training in the gladiator school, fighting against the other up and coming warriors, and trying to remain beneath the radar. In his graduation fight, Kreslin fought one of his 'classmates'.Kreslin came out the winner, though the burning blade scar to his head would never fully heal. Following his first fight, Kreslin was sent along with the other half of the surviving students to become a full gladiator in the service of his master, and would begin to make a name for himself.
While not the strongest gladiator, or the faster, and no where near being the best, Kreslin began to build a reputation for efficiency and success against the odds. He earned numerous wounds over his career, but he continued to rise in prominence among the other gladiators, and finally began to make money for himself after being promoted to the top ranks of gladiators, though it was a pitiful income. It was towards the end of his twentieth year when Kreslin met Galia Westwind, a Mandalorian warrior who frequented the Palace of the Hutt. He expressed his admiration for the young warrior, though saying he was still too green for his own liking. Over the following weeks, Kreslin and Galia grew closer, and eventually a relationship was sparked. Galia promised that if Kreslin won his next fight, a challenge against the Hutt lords personal champion, she would secure his freedom, and take him away from Tatooine to join her people, as a proven warrior.
Determined, and eager for a new chance at life, Kreslin marched into the arena ready to do battle, only to come face to face with an almost mirror image of himself. The first ever meeting Kreslin had with his father ended with the blood of his father on his blade, and near crippling wounds to Kreslin himself. Broken, both physically and mentally, the Hutt lord was more than happy to sell off the soon to be dead Kreslin to Galia, who took him off world. In flight to her Clan's home, Galia provided Kreslin with what medical care she could, keeping him alive long enough for him to make it to the world of Recluse, the home of Clan Westwind.
Kreslin was nursed back to health by the careful attention of Clan Westwind, and when he was able to get back on his feet, he and Galia were bonded before the Clan's Alor, and Kreslin was officially recognized as Kreslin Westwind. For almost two decades, Galia and Kreslin traveled the galaxy together, collecting bounties as partners, and fighting where the money was good. This eventually brought the pair, and a majority of Clan Westwind, to Mandalore, the homeworld of their people on the eve of the Sith Empires invasion. Clan Westwind fought on the ground of the homeworld, defending the section of orbital defense weaponry they had been assigned. The Clan's ranks were devastated, but they did not break. As other Clans were wiped from the field, or fled from the doomed fight, Clan Westwind held their ground, their lives being spent to keep the orbital guns firing just a bit longer, allowing more of their people to escape.
When the time finally came for the decimated remnants of Clan Westwind to withdraw, Galia and Kreslin were caught in an artillery blast launched at random from a Sith position. Both of them survived the blast, with Galia emerging mostly unscathed thanks to her armor, those shrapnel had pierced clean through Kreslin's leg, pinning him to the ground. As other members of the Clan worked to get Kreslin clear, a dropship landed nearby, unloading a score of Sith warriors who had been sent to finally silence the defenses. As Kreslin was dragged to the last shuttle departing from Mandalore, he was forced to watch as Galia turned back to buy him, and the rest of their Clan time to get clear. The last sight he saw of the woman he loved, was Galia being stabbed through the back by a Sith warrior, just as she had driven her knife into another's neck.
Kreslin and the remnants of Clan Westwind returned to Recluse, their spirits shattered, and the halls of the Towers of Sunset empty. It was here that many of the wounded, including the Clan's Alor, would succumb to their wounds, as most of the Clan's medically gifted members lay on the fields of Mandalore, targeted specifically for their specialty. No warrior stepped forward to take up the mantle, and one by one, the members of Clan Westwind began to scatter across the galaxy. When he was healed, Kreslin departed as well, intent to throw himself at the ravages of the galaxy, to try and forget the pain of all he has lost, and to prepare himself for the vengeance he has sworn to take.
