- Elemental: High
- Susurra weave: The outfit makes very little noise due to the integrated Susurra weave.
- Efficient plating: The plates which serves as the main protection against blasters and other energy attacks are light and strong. Importantly, they are only placed where blaster attacks are the most likely to hit - namely by the shoulders and upper chest and wrists which are the areas which or often exposed when peering out from cover. This minimizes the encumbrance that the plates brings whilst still offering blaster protection.
- Tough cloth: The cloth which the Kroket is primarily made of is tough and serves as good protection against kinetic attacks such as vibrosword slashes, slughthrower bolts and shrapnel from explosives. The outfit also had thicker pieces by the legs to proved them with extra protection from injuries which could cause too much blood loss or a total loss of mobility.
- Elemental protection: The outfit worked well in extreme weather conditions and could even withstand certain fire, ice or electric attacks, for instance.
- Light: Despite all the protection the outfit provided, the material choices still made it relatively light compared to other non-armour classed outfits. With it mainly consisting of cloth, it allowed the wearer free mobility and along with how little noise it produced, the Kroket was well suited for stealth-based operations. Naturally, it's light nature also allowed the wearer to either carry more other items or keep their stamina while moving faster and for a longer period of time.
- EMP: The Kroket offers little to no protection against EMP blasts. Hiding any electronic equipment inside it in the hopes of having it survive an EMP attack is almost as bad as just leaving it out in the open.
- Lightsabres: This outfit does not protect well against lightsabres. In fact, lightsabres cuts through it with relative ease.
- Partial plating: The plating only covers a small part of the body which means that the parts which are not covered by the plating can still be hit without any notable protection against blasters. The lower core is one of the more significant areas without any plating.
- Not armour classed for a reason: There is a reason for why the Kroket Outfit is not classified as armour. With its minimal plating, it is more similar to a blast vest. While it varied from case to case, an attacked Kroket-user would not be able to shrug off the effects of the attack as if they had been wearing armour - instead, it will minimise their injuries.
The Kroket Combat Outfit was designed by Mathieu Brion with a lot of help from his friends. Working with cloth was really not his strong suit but with good advice and plenty of direct help along the way, he succeeded. The end product was a reliable outfit which was light and had relatively good protective properties considering its nature.
One of the main advantages of the Kroket was how light it was. This allowed users to carry more equipment without growing more tired or stay more active than usual. Ultimately, this gave the user to be disproportionally mobile in relation to the gear they carried, whether it be a rifle or a mortar. The emphasis on mobility could also be seen in the thicker protective pieces of cloth around the legs which reduced the risk of a wearer becoming immobilised because of a leg injury.
Part of the reason why the weight of the outfit could be so low was because of the good choice in lighter materials. The protective plates, primarily designed to defend against blaster bolts, were relatively thin and only covered select areas along the upper body. The positioning of the protective plates was efficient, however, as it covered the most exposed areas for a soldier who peered out from cover. This does not include the head but a helmet worn in addition to the Kroket Combat Outfit could solve that issue.
The cloth was protective too and could withstand both elemental and kinetic attacks. One of the most significant advantages to this was that explosions going off nearby would not cause as much damage as they could have done to someone without the Kroket. The shrapnel and heat were both elements which were thought of in the designing of the outfit. Still, these were not armoured plates and a slug fired from a close range could still cause real damage to whatever wore the Kroket.
Without any integrated electronic equipment or any ways to protect against lightsabres without having the price rise significantly, these two elements were weak points of the outfit. Still, for general purpose combat, it was a good choice for anyone who valued mobility and staying on the move with enough protection to get them back home alive. It was even well suited for covert operations as its light nature, camouflage pattern and Susurra weave allowed for silent movement.
