- The Predator is built with enough size to give it resistance against a variety of attacks, and is shielded using ray shields to further bolster this effect.
- Equipped with vibroblade claws and teeth the Predator stands as one of the only droids made by Krovane Corporation that actually can be used against humanoids but within specific parameters.
- The equipped vibroblade claws also serve the secondary purpose of being able to till the soil around the Ranger Terraseeder so that it's purpose can be further effective in the envrionments in which it is used; this also goes for it's flame projectors.
- Built with an extra powercell the Predator is designed to move faster and perform better due to it's necessity in the ordinance it is deployed in.
- Like the Coarser, the Predator's networking components are kept housed in it's chest and safely away from external elements.
- Unlike other Krovane Corporation droids the Predator is not built with the inhibitions against attacking or posing a threat to humanoid or other sentient lifeforms; though this particular feature is highly monitored as a defensive measure.
- Pack Programming: The Predator is designed with the defense of Krovane Corporation personnel and property. It will engage any and all that attempt to attack or interfere with Krovane Corporation goals and enterprise.
- Quadraped: Built smaller than the Ranger but still quadraped, the Predator can move faster and much more deadly than the former in order to perform it's function far better.
- Claws and Teeth: While it is not equipped with any kind of ranged weaponry outside of the flame projectors, the Predator is large enough that it can rely on it's melee outfitting.
- Tilling: Can second as a ground tiller while not performing defensive duties.
- Rally Call: If in danger the Predator will summon other Predators to aid it in the case of an attack.
- Internal Network: While there are anttenae above the housing of the Coarser, all of it's network components are stored internally and thus much more easily protected.
- Electromagnetics: While it has a high resistance to them, the Predator is not nearly big enough to withstand the level that the Ranger or the Coarser are able and thus is somewhat more vunlerable.
- Weaker Materials: To promote a slightly larger number for production, though still limited, the Predator is made with slightly weaker materials than it's predecessors the Ranger and the Coarser.
- Communications Error: While the network components are housed internally, should the chest of the Coarser ever be compromised the unit will cease to function.
- Mandatory Programming: While the Predator is capable of being programmed to attack humanoid and sentient beings it can only do so in a defensive manner of the operator. It cannot deviate from this programming.
With the success in designing the Ranger and the Coarser, the scientists of Krovane Corporation found themselves at an impasse with their necessity for programming that did not involve the harm of humanoid or strictly sentient beings. While their tech was advanced it was highly vulnerable and required a level of caution when being deployed. And, as such, a measure was put into place by Lady Krovane herself that a new droid should be designed to protect this line of droids against the potential of being attacked by pirates or uncanny natives.
It was through this effort that the first prototype and design for the Predator came into existence. A droid that could still be programmed to follow strict commands, but could also operate in a pack like structure with Krovane Corporation personel and machinery. It was the perfect weapon in place of something far more volatile and militaristic.
