- Designed with terrain traversal at a vast scale, the Ranger is built to move across flat terrain almost unimpeded. This is done by utilizing a variety of flexible studded ball bearings on it's feet attached to easily dispersed rods; making for a soft padding against a high range of terrestrial surfaces. This includes ice.
- Atop it's disk like head, as well as inside it, are it's visual receptors and a variety of communications equipment that allow it to communicate with and command other droids operated on the same planet on which it is placed.
- Designed with durability in mind, every inch of the Ranger has been modified to withstand a vast majority of elements a planet may be capable of throwing at it. Including agrinium coating, ray shielding around key components and a phrik frame.
- Constructed with a B-10 "Tensei" Droid Brain, the Ranger is capable of operating independently from it's designated operator unless directly linked up. This allows it to take command over other droids in the area that are designated to the same purpose of terrain modification or alteration.
- Meshed with silver carbon nanotubing, the Ranger is protected extensively against electromagnetic or ion attacks to prevent it's purposes from being interrupted by unwanted interference.
- Equipped with a nitrogen cooled and thermal heated storage unit, as well as the necessary components to regulate contents, the Ranger is capable of transporting organic life across worlds to place them where they are needed.
- In tandem with it's storage unit, the Ranger is equipped with a dispensary to dispense organic material across a planets terrain zones in order to seed them for future growth and flourishing.
- Large and in charge: Due to having an almost one hundred foot size, the Ranger is built to withstand a great many things that most other droids aren't capable. This includes being able to be equipped with a shield generator projector as well as additional safety measures depending upon the planet it is placed on.
- Agrinium coated: The Ranger sports a high resistance to radiation as it is required to be able to traverse highly toxic worlds for the purposes of trying to cleanse them.
- Phrik housings: Despite it's utilization of phrik as a bone structure, the Ranger also has phrik housings in which it's key components are stored.
- High grade communication: As it's purpose is to regulate the operation of other droids in the vicinity of it, the Ranger is equipped with high grade communications equipment.
- Humanoid Safe: Like most droids created by Krovane Corporation the Ranger is programmed not to engage in violent actions towards any humanoid or being with a strict range of sentience.
- Huge target: While the Ranger is built large on purpose, this also poses a significant problem should it come under attack by nefarious enterprises.
- Sonic Impulse: It has little to no protection against sonic weaponry outside of a basic environmental system to prevent basic interference from planetary means.
- Long Legs: Though tall and difficult to scale, the Ranger is prone to fatal malfunction should any of it's legs be destroyed as it will no longer be able to traverse the surface of a world without the use of all of it's appendages.
- Communications Error: Should the head of the Ranger ever be compromised the unit will cease to function and most, if not all, droids in the area will begin to run rampant and operate their purposes as they see fit.
- Humanoid Complication: Should humanoids or specific sentient species attack the Ranger it will have little to no way to defend itself outside of sending a distress call to it's operator.
In lieu of Krovane Corporation's desires to build better worlds, improve the lives of the masses and provide a better way of life for the galaxy, it's scientists began to develop prototypes. Prototypes of droids capable of performing measures that could be associated with terraforming worlds that were considered to be either barely habitable or impossible to inhabit. One such model was the Ranger Terraseeder Command Droid; a droid built large and with the ability to traverse planets and command other droids set to the same purpse: Making a world a better place for the people who desired to live there.
Upon acquiring the necessary materials and finalizing the schematics, the scientists began their work in promoting the construction of the Ranger. While it was an ambitious project, it was one that Krovane Corporation was confident would help the galaxy as a whole once it had been completed.
