The Victory Class Star Destroyer was meant to be the greatest, most flexible tool of the Old Republic and later the Old Empire, yet it failed miserably, at least to a certain degree. And so, when a secretive order was placed for a line of Heavy Cruiser by an entity identified only by the Risen, Kuat Systems Engineering jumped at the chance.
Using the Victory Class as a model, the engineers at KSE began to imagine a larger, more heavily armed and more compact design for the original class. First, they did away with the idea of Octuple Barbette Turbolaser Cannons replacing them with more powerful Solar Ionization Cannons.
Beyond this, with input from the greater Techno Union, the Kuati engineers added an abundance of extra weaponry including Incenrator Class Plamsa Railguns to be utilized in a point defense role.
In the end, the engineers created a warship that was unique in most ways, but reminiscent of the past.
