The KT-14A was made simply to be the beginning of a line of weapons purposely meant for Hunting, all though it can be used for personal defense. The two different modes and ammo types the pistol has allows for users to attack both lightly armored targets, and heavy armored targets with the Low Power Cells and Tibanna Gas Canisters Respectively.

- The Pistol has two settings for fire, along with two ammo types; Low Power Cells and Tibanna Gas Canisters. The Low Power Cells are able to be used to fight against thin armored targets, or targets with no armor at all. The Tibanna Gas is meant for heavy targets, and can one shot any target that someone would use the Low Power Cells for.
- The Range for the Low Power Mode is further than the Tibanna Gas Mode.
- The Stopping Power of the Tibanna Gas Ammo is extremely different than the Low Power Cells, the Tibanna being used to work as a heavy ammo type in comparison to the LPC.
- Due to the double ammo type and the design of the blaster has made it heavier than most blaster pistols that match its size
- Although the Recoil for the Low Power Cell is rather low, the Tibanna Gas Recoil makes the weapon very difficult to operate, thus making the rate of fire slower with the TG Ammo than the LPC Ammo.
- Due to the nature of the different ammo types the Tibanna Canisters have less Shots Per Canister (SPC) than the Low Power Cells.
