---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :
Perceptive- Months spent scanning the dunes for the slightest of movement and tracking Tusken War Parties have left Kwelin with an almost painful awareness of his surroundings.
Hunter- Kwelin is very well acclimated to serve a faction (or himself) as a tracker/scout/marksman, particularly on arid worlds.
Intermittent Explosive Disorder- Has been known to overreact to outside stimuli (Sometimes, not always, the nature of the disorder makes episodes sporadic), will and has lost his temper to the detriment of both himself and those around him. These situations can crop up over seemingly mundane or inconsequential scenarios. How weakness has affected Kwelin thus far: After the death of his father both him and his brother Fretu sold their dad's land and moved to Mos Espa. Fretu got on with an interstellar freighting company with good pay and benefits, Kwelin ended up pulling a three year stint in MECF for nearly killing a Lorrdian in a bar fight. (Started by Kwelin because of a perceived facial gesture)
Left Hand Free- Lost his left hand's ring and pinky fingers in an ambush by Tuskens during a patrol on his twentieth birthday. He probably won't be punching anyone with his left if he can help it.
APPEARANCE: Generally wears short cropped hair and some stubble, missing a couple fingers on his left hand, covers with a leather glove with the appropriate fingers removed. Tends to dress functionally, simple one color garments made out of durable material.
BIOGRAPHY: Born to a pair of well off Moisture farmers along the edge of civilization by Tatooine's infamous Dune Sea, Kwelin and his younger brother Fretu where far removed from the Galaxy sized problems that assailed many of the trillions of beings scattered across the cosmos. There issues were always more localized. While wars waged and worlds burned the Orlov clan fought a never ending skirmish with roving clans of Tuskens that would disappear into the dunes as quickly as they'd emerged. Kwelin's father Udin fought stubbornly against them for a time with the help of his extended family until his wife Sahit was killed in one of the attacks, forcing him to acknowledge the need for outside assistance. Udin swallowed his pride and made an alliance with folks who before he'd only viewed as competition. The other large farms found themselves in similar situations and for the sake of survival agreed. For some years the Orlovs, Ziadsefs, and Muckites patrolled the land between their respective farms and prevented most Tusken patrols from making it anywhere near the proper settlements. A militia was formed under joint command of the three landowning families and for a time small villages began to crop up between them, lending manpower to protect against the natives in exchange for water and a semblance away from the widespread corruption and crime present in most of Tatooine's larger settlements.
Kwelin joined the militia on his sixteenth birthday and was followed by Fretu a short two years later. Being raised how he was by his pragmatic father, Kwelin quickly distinguished himself among his comrades and became a well respected member of the community, despite a mean streak and sometimes cavalier attitude towards violence that most attributed to his traumatic early years on the edge of civilization. By his Twentieth birthday Kwelin had been placed in charge of one of the militias "Always Ready" Squads that roamed between the settlements daily and patrolled endlessly in search of tusken activity. Normally the groups would either take care of the problems themselves or radio in for reinforcements if the enemy made a show in force. On the same day as his promotion Kwelin responded to a distress call from an AR squad that Fretu had been assigned to and arrived to find himself and his fellow militiamen hopelessly outnumbered by hundreds of tuskens. They held for a time before pulling back with what little remained of Fretu's squad and made a defensive line with what militiamen they could signal between the Orlov and Muckite farms. The tusken war party slammed into the forty or so militiamen like a wave, overwhelming them in spite of heavy casualties. Kwelin shot his own brother in the shoulder before dragging the pair of them under a few of their comrades bodies as the line fell. Fretu and Kwelin survived to find that the alliance their father founded with the other farms had been almost entirely wiped out by the tuskens and that the Ziadsefs had only survived by conceding their farm to a Hutt named Guardo operating out of Mos Espa. Who in turn saved their land from annihilation before enslaving the survivors. Fretu blamed his brother for not allowing them to die with their family instead of surviving to see the horror that had become of their father's ill fated plan. He then left his brother among the bodies and the wreckage to build a new life far from Kwelin and his now dead past. Kwelin took to the dune sea and hunted tuskens, scavenging a living off their deceased victims and the predators themselves.
Kwelin continued like that for years, sneaking and shooting his way across the dunes in search of a peace he'd never find or a number that would quench his anger. Not finding it he ventured after his brother, before almost immediately being arrested for nearly beating another humanoid to death in a Mos Espa Cantina.
