Kyber saber

While surfing the interwebs, I discovered something quite interesting. A lightsaber made purely from kyber crystals, and being immensely powerful. Apparently it's set to make an appearance in an upcoming Lego Star Wars show.

This has been a question on my mind. What properties would a sword / blade / weapon sculpted from a large, attuned crystal have?

According to the show, it can shoot beams of... Some sort of blaster bolt? Anyways, that, and it's probably extremely in tune with the Force.

Most if not all of the Lego Star Wars stuff is basically "what-if" stuff and not really canon. That being said, it's obviously geared more towards casual entertainment than consistency. As it is, that thing would be waaay too OP. I'm not saying it's not possible though. I think it would be interesting to see how a Force smith or Alchemist went about creating something like that on the board.

That's what I was thinking as well. It's not technically canon, but it definitely would be interesting to see someone here try to make a blade out of crystal. As a matter of fact, that makes me think, what about crystal swords in general? Basic crystals shaped into blades and imbued with the force. That could be a fun project.

Crystals, except with Force Imbuement or Alchemy, are rubbished for blades. Super sharp, like obsidian, but they will chip and shatter a LOT... Plus, There isn't going to be much you can imbue a crystal with you can't imbue metal or leather with or such. However, crystals can have other effects besides powers for FU. For a Nexus, or Force Battery, or some such thing in that vein. Combine the fact they can still take a few properties, and while you are looking at a LOT of dev, it could be quite deadly. Think more athame or such that battle sword.
