Notes: This is mostly done out of fun, I am ex-army and the chance to write some badass army stuff is always going to get my brain functioning, it might be a lot of redundant info only fit for a trivia night but I can't help myself. I just hope you enjoy it!

GENERAL INFORMATION
Unit Name:
Diarchy Incendiary Brigade
Affiliation: The Diarchy
Classification: Special Forces (Flametroopers)
Description: The Diarchy Incendiary Brigade is an elite unit known for its stark white armor that echoes the designs of historical flametrooper units, such as the First Order. The armor is modified for heat resistance and psychological impact, featuring menacing visors and streamlined, imposing silhouettes. The unit carries the emblem of the Diarchy, a symbol that inspires fear and loyalty. The general mindset is one of absolute obedience and relish in the destructive power they wield, embodying the Diarchy's philosophy of order through domination.

COMBAT INFORMATION
Unit Size:
Small (The unit comprises several squads, each with no more than twelve members.)
Unit Availability: Rare (Highly trained and difficult to replace due to specialized training and equipment.)
Unit Experience: Elite (Trained extensively in incendiary combat and psychological warfare tactics.)
Equipment:
  • Customized heat-resistant armor
  • Advanced flamethrowers with extended range and fuel capacity
  • Thermal detonators
  • Standard issue sidearms for close-quarters combat
Combat Function: The Diarchy Incendiary Brigade is utilized to initiate assaults on fortified positions, sowing chaos and fear with their incendiary weapons. Their tactics often involve rapid, overwhelming strikes designed to break enemy lines and morale. In larger battles, they serve as the spearhead, softening enemy defenses for follow-up infantry and armored units.

Strengths:
  • Fear Factor: The visual and psychological impact of their white armor and flamethrowers often demoralizes opponents before physical engagement begins.
  • Environmental Dominance: Specially equipped to handle and create extreme environmental conditions, making them particularly effective in urban and fortified settings.
Weaknesses:
  • Limited Engagement Range: While devastating at close to medium range, the unit lacks effectiveness in long-range combat scenarios and is vulnerable to sniper and artillery fire.
  • High-Profile Target: The unit's distinctive appearance and reputation make them priority targets on the battlefield, often drawing disproportionate enemy fire.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Diarchy Incendiary Brigade was formed shortly after the establishment of the Diarchy, conceived as part of a broader initiative to develop specialized forces that embody the new regime's aggressive expansionist policies and philosophy of order through power. Inspired by historical precedents set by the First Order and other earlier imperial factions, the Brigade was equipped and trained to handle the most challenging of the Diarchy's military engagements.

Their training was conducted in secret, with members selected for their loyalty to the Diarchy and their psychological predisposition towards aggressive, unrelenting combat styles.

As they continue to serve at the forefront of the Diarchy's expansion, the Incendiary Brigade's reputation grows, not just within the Diarchy but across the galaxy, as a symbol of the fiery destruction that awaits those who oppose the new order.

UNIT COMPOSITION

  • Total Strength: Approximately 144 troopers (3 companies of 4 squads, each with 12 members)
  • Special Roles Within Squads:
    • Point Trooper: Spearheads the squad's advance, equipped with enhanced armor and the first to deploy the flamethrower.
    • Support Troopers: Carry extra fuel and specialized equipment, such as thermal detonators and heavy weaponry for breaching operations.
    • Rear Guard: Equipped with standard issue sidearms and tasked with squad protection from rear attacks and flanking maneuvers.

DEPLOYMENT STRATEGIES

Rapid Insertion:
  • The brigade is equipped with high-speed assault transports designed for quick entry into hostile territories. These transports are armored to withstand heavy anti-air fire and equipped with minor stealth technology to minimize detection during infiltration.
  • Deployment is typically preceded by aerial or orbital bombardments to disorient the enemy and soften defenses, setting the stage for the brigade's entry.
Surprise Assault:
  • Operations often begin at night or under conditions that limit enemy visibility, such as during storms or in dense urban fog, leveraging the brigade's specialized equipment for low-light and obscured environments.
  • The use of sudden, overwhelming force is a hallmark, with multiple squads simultaneously attacking key points to disrupt enemy coordination and command structures.
Coordinated Multi-front Attacks:
  • Where possible, the brigade coordinates with other Diarchy forces to launch synchronized attacks on multiple fronts, maximizing confusion and disarray among enemy ranks.
  • This tactic is particularly effective in large-scale battles where the brigade can serve as the tip of the spear, with follow-up forces quickly exploiting the breaches they create.

ENGAGEMENT RULES

Psychological Warfare:
  • Beyond mere physical destruction, the brigade is trained to employ psychological tactics that instill terror. This includes the use of propaganda broadcasts during assaults, playing recordings of previous victories, or broadcasting the sounds of their flamethrowers to preemptively unsettle enemy troops.
  • Troopers are equipped with helmet-mounted cameras broadcasting real-time combat footage back to Diarchy command centers, which can be used for live feeds to demoralize enemy populations or rally Diarchy citizens.
Precision Targeting:
  • Priority is given to the destruction of infrastructure critical to enemy morale and operational capability, such as supply depots, communication hubs, and troop barracks.
  • Advanced reconnaissance drones are deployed prior to assaults to identify and mark high-value targets for precise, swift strikes.
Rules of Engagement:
  • The brigade adheres to a strict code that prioritizes mission objectives over individual combat engagements. Troopers are trained to bypass smaller engagements and focus on achieving strategic goals unless directly threatened.
  • Captured enemy combatants are often used in psychological operations, either through direct propaganda efforts or as part of broader strategic misinformation campaigns.

RETREAT AND REORGANIZATION

Controlled Withdrawal:
  • In the event of an unsustainable offensive, the brigade is trained to execute a phased retreat, using controlled burns to create fire barriers that hinder enemy pursuit.
  • Rear Guard troopers play a crucial role during retreats, providing covering fire while other squad members withdraw in structured formations.
Emergency Evacuation:
  • Each squad is equipped with emergency signaling devices to request immediate extraction. These signals are coded to prioritize the rescue of units based on their tactical value and the status of their mission objectives.
  • Extraction points are pre-determined and revisited in squad briefings, with alternative sites designated in case of compromise.
After-Action Reorganization:
  • Following any retreat or mission completion, squads undergo a rigorous after-action review led by their squad leaders, focusing on lessons learned and opportunities for tactical improvements.
  • Troopers receive medical evaluations and psychological counseling to maintain combat effectiveness and address any trauma resulting from operations, ensuring readiness for subsequent deployments.
These expanded operational protocols ensure that the Diarchy Incendiary Brigade operates as a highly effective, psychologically daunting force, capable of executing complex military strategies with precision and adaptability.

LOGISTICAL SUPPORT

  • Resupply: Specialized transport units that carry flamethrower fuel, spare parts for armor, and additional armaments.
  • Medical: Each company is supported by a medical unit trained to handle burn and trauma cases typical of incendiary combat.

BASIC TRAINING MODULES

Incendiary Weapons Proficiency:
  • Extensive training on the operation, maintenance, and tactical use of flamethrowers, ensuring each trooper can handle equipment malfunctions or combat damage under stress.
  • Emphasis on fuel mixture knowledge, nozzle adjustment for range and spread, and environmental considerations that affect the behavior of fire.
Environmental Conditioning:
  • Troopers undergo rigorous training in various environmental simulators, including extreme heat, urban ruin landscapes, and chemically compromised atmospheres, to prepare them for any combat scenario.
  • Training includes navigating and operating in these environments while fully equipped, optimizing their effectiveness in real-world conditions.
Combat Readiness and Physical Fitness:
  • Intensive physical conditioning to build endurance, strength, and agility, ensuring that troopers can carry heavy equipment and move swiftly in armor for extended periods.
  • Regular drills that simulate the physical stress of battle conditions, including obstacle courses designed around the gear and weaponry specific to flametrooper duties.

ADVANCED TRAINING MODULES

Tactical Fire Manipulation:
  • Advanced courses in controlled burning techniques, teaching troopers to create firebreaks, traps, and barriers that can alter the battlefield to the Diarchy's advantage.
  • Training in the use of incendiaries not just as weapons but as strategic tools for area denial, enemy routing, and psychological impact.
Psychological Operations (PsyOps) Training:
  • Courses on the psychological effects of warfare, particularly focusing on how to exploit fear and demoralization among enemy troops using their incendiary capabilities.
  • Role-playing and scenario-based training that involves acting out encounters with civilians and enemy combatants to refine techniques in psychological manipulation and information extraction.
Urban and Close-Quarters Combat:
  • Specialized training in urban warfare tactics, focusing on the challenges of fighting in densely built environments where incendiary weapons can be both highly effective and hazardous.
  • Close-quarters battle techniques that integrate the use of sidearms and flamethrowers, ensuring troopers can switch seamlessly between weapons as combat scenarios dictate.

DOCTRINAL EDUCATION

Diarchy Military Doctrine:
  • Detailed education on the Diarchy's military philosophy and strategic objectives, instilling a sense of purpose and unwavering loyalty to the regime.
  • Studies include historical precedents of incendiary warfare, lessons learned from past military campaigns, and current strategic doctrines adopted by the Diarchy.
Leadership Development:
  • Emerging leaders within the ranks receive additional training in leadership skills, decision-making under pressure, and managing trooper welfare to cultivate effective squad leaders and future commanders.
  • Mentorship programs that pair experienced officers with junior leaders to foster leadership qualities that align with the strategic goals and values of the Diarchy.
