Physical Description:

To no one's surprise, Kyric takes after his father. With luscious locks as dark as night and an amber gaze befitting a Sith, his appearance could be described as intense. He certainly carries himself that way.

Much like his father, he's forgone a traditional kiffar clan tattoo, alongside the traditional robes befitting a Jedi. Kyric prefers modern fashion to ancient garments. He's likely to be seen in a jacket, jeans, and boots more than anything else. There is no visible lightsaber on his belt, but he carries both a vibro-bowie knife and a blaster on opposite hips. Little hooks and pockets attached to his belt belie many hidden tools to be used as necessary.

Skills, Training, & the Force

Due to a difficult childhood without either of his parents in the picture, Kyric didn't begin training in the Force until he was a teenager. That does not mean he didn't pick up any skills from the difficult upbringing that comes with living in the Suicide Slums. As the oldest boy in a group of four orphaned children, it was up to Kyric to provide for and protect them. He had a knack for fighting at an early age, preferring a good bare-knuckle brawl to a shootout. With time, alongside an evergrowing danger, he picked up a trick or two around the vibroblade and a blaster.

Once his father found him, Corin began teaching Kyric the intricacies of the Force. He showed a prodigal understanding of the Force itself. They determined he had the same affinity for psychometry as his father from their kiffar heritage. Since Corin couldn't complete his training, Kyric was left with Dagon to build off what the typical padawan would know.

[Kyric]

In place of using a traditional thread tracker, I've elected to try something more akin to comic-book storylines. The individual spoilers will include a short grouping of stories that typically follow similar themes, and a connecting storyline, listed in order.

The arcs themselves aren't necessarily in chronological order. This is to avoid the nitty-gritty of continuity where reading the individual arcs is a lot more important to flesh out what the acts are about. The acts are in chronological order.

Prologue: The Sins of the Father(s)
In a hilarious twist of fate, Kyric was dragged into the affairs of a criminal organization of spice runners and slavers by none other than his half-brother, Damien Dooku.

Act I: The Whims of Fate

Unable to deny the weight of Legacy any longer, Kyric finds himself on the precipice of something dangerous as threats new and old lurk ever closer. His father's shadow, though far-reaching, can no longer deter the will of the Dark Side.

The Lost Days
Kyric spent nearly a decade in preparation to become an Alliance Marshal. He couldn't be happier when he finally started his dream job. Unfortunately, good days never last. A brutal shootout with a group of criminals outside the Suicide Slums on Denon saw him burned. With no job and nowhere to go, Kyric turns to the stars in search of meaning.

Synopsis: Called into action yet again by his loving mother, tensions rise in Monument Plaza as the ongoing protest against the Senate's departure grows. To top it all off, an aimless Padawan finds herself trapped in the middle of it all, caught at the crossroads of her destiny.

Synopsis: Following what Kyric thought to be a lead presented to him by his cousin Tansu, the boy ends up in a club on the eve of the Dark Empire's invasion. An encounter with a sordid figure from the kiffar's past leads to a tense stand-off with some dangerous figures.

Flight of the Swallow
Never one to believe in coincidence, Kyric chases Jedi Master Inosuke Ashina to his homeworld of Atrisa. Out of his element, but not out of options, the young Wayseeker pleads with the old Jedi Master to complete his training and help him finish his father's final battle.

While the Karis lineage does not rival the likes of Skywalker and Sunstrider in pure power output or potential, force-sensitive sentients within the bloodline are known to showcase unique variations of existing force techniques.

Kyric's overall ability in each of his skills will be defined in a scaling system of colored pips. The more pips, the better. Green represents novice-level skill, whereas purple represents an innate mastery that transcends other abilities in his repertoire.

Innate Talent(s) and Unique Techniques

Center of Being
Mastery: ||||||||||||
This ability is the cornerstone of Kyric's strategy. This technique allows him to give himself entirely to the Force, enhancing his defensive capabilities while in a state he refers to as Centered. His talent for this skill manifests in the ability to enter this meditative state from any position, at any time, so long as he is conscious. Moreover, Kyric can manifest other force abilities while Centered.

The drawback of this technique is the increased strain placed on his brain while in use. Given his lack of mastery of these abilities, Kyric's brain is forced to "catch up" to the actions of his body, creating a psionic rubberband effect. Overuse results in his brain forcefully shutting down non-essential bodily functions until death.

Kyric has not manifested the ability to see echoes of living tissue within the Force. He is limited to only viewing echoes of inorganic matter. However, he has shown an ability to sense and view even the faintest emotional signature on an item, at near instantaneous speed.

Kyric's Tsubame Gaeshi is a technique he has begun developing in secret following his encounter with Inosuke Ashina at the Hirata Sanctuary. The technique allows Kyric to project an illusion of himself that carries with it both his presence and intentions to counter precognition and other sense-based techniques.

Force Progression

Act I saw Kyric rely heavily on Art of Movement, Endure, and Concealment throughout his service to the Light. He battled many enemies throughout this arc and he showed a preference for a lot of his old tricks. While he's picked up some new ones, the Kid has continued to hone his tried and true techniques.
