STRENGTHS
- Calculated Precision: The Kzaevas is most effective when coordinated and directed towards a particular target or area, the droid brain keyed to unleashing destruction upon identified targets with a very direct and precise targeting system and algorithm.
- Ruination is Key: A main focus of the bomber is sheer destructive capability. It is geared towards making fast and precise runs on key targets that can cause the maximum amount of damage possible, meaning that the ship itself has a fairly impressive arsenal for such a task.
- Simple Minded: The standard droid brains that control the Kzaevas are very simple by design, intended to be cheap to produce on a large scale. They lack the ability to perform complex maneuvers and are best utilized under the control of an organic pilot or director marking targets for them instead of the bomber itself acting more independently.
- Speed is Our Shield: Given that the bomber is meant to be fairly cheap and easy to produce, the hull itself and some minor armor reinforcements are the only real defense mechanisms of the craft. The Kzaevas relies on speed and maneuverability as its defenses rather than any form of armor or shielding.
With the Order of Wonosa gaining more and more control over Formos, as well as Faldos after a trial of the world's previous governor, the cult found itself with many leftover and discarded smuggler ships and assets. While a fair bit were scrapped or sold, the ships were kept mostly intact and studied for potential usage in the cult's slowly growing military forces. One of the first projects to be undertaken by the engineers of the cult was that of a dedicated and standardized starfighter.
While the designs for a fighter would be hotly debated, the basic idea of a bomber became more and more apparent given the abundance of ordinance and weaponry that came with the smuggler ships. However a lack of pilots within the cult as well as a general lack of fresh resources meant that any new ship would have to meet a certain set of qualifications, as their High Priest Alisteri Haxim was unwilling to sanction the production of any ship that couldn't properly protect the pilot within. As such the corporate minds of the Formos Industrial Coalition proposed the idea of using droid brains to control the bombers, allowing for them to be coordinated by other vessels rather than relying on a living pilot that could be shot down and lost.
Thanks to the credits and smuggler circles of Faldos, droid brains soon found their way into the hands of the engineers and the first of the Kzaevas bombers entered prototyping. The tests provided exactly the result the cult wanted, a relatively cheap but powerful bomber that could unleash destruction on whatever it targeted even if only a single pass could be made. The designs were also quickly sent out to the wider Sith Order, as Alisteri saw no reason to restrict something that could allow for less lives lost in deadly fleet engagements.
