STRENGTHS
- Cloaking Device: The Screech Owl is capable of cloaking itself for short periods of time, allowing it to slip through space unseen.
- Mine Mine: The Screech Owl is equipped with a rear facing compartment capable of holding up to ten magnetic mines. In a dogfight, should an enemy starfighter be pursuing the Screech Owl, these mines can be deployed in groups of two with a time delay of five seconds to allow for the Screech Owl to distance itself from its pursuer before they activate.
- Energy Hog: The Cloaking Device, when activated, draws immense power from the rest of the ship. Once activated, the Screech Owl will not be able to fire its weapons for two minutes after the cloaking device is deactivated. The cloak itself cannot be reactivated for roughly half an hour between uses as the power grid recharges.
- View: The layout of the Screech Owl prevents the pilot or any of the occupants of the vessel from seeing what is below or behind the vessel, forcing them to rely on sensors. Should sensors be knocked out, the Screech Owl will be vulnerable.
- Speedy: The Screech Owl, with so many other systems crammed into its limited frame, can only sport a class two hyperdrive, limiting the vessels speed from star system to star system, and potentially being outrun by a pursuer should they know its destination.
When Aloy Vizsla, leader of the Nite Owls approached the MandalMotors research and development department about securing for herself a new ship, they initially refused her, saying any such vessel would have to come after their current projects. Several broken holo screens, hurt spirits, and having learned several new curse words from around the galaxy, the engineers got to work. In record time, they developed and constructed the Nite Owl, fitting it with a cloaking device, numerous types of shielding, and several different weapon options all per request. When the engineers threatened to file a complaint with the Mand'alor over her actions in securing the vessel, she simply pointed her new freshly polished laser cannons at them till they left her alone.
