- A millimeters-thin disc of neuranium with mono-molecular edges. It is designed to engage both armored and unarmored targets, inflicting damage through slashing and kinetic force from the hypersonic velocity of the disc.

- Can Opener: The Lacera has a verpine linear motor installed within the barrel that accelerates the disc to hypersonic speeds. This extreme velocity imparts the projectile with an extreme, outsized kinetic potential, roughly equivalent to the muzzle energy of an autocannon round. Thus, when fired at full power, the disc can punch through virtually all forms of infantry armor (even those made from beskar and materials of a similar grade) with almost contemptuous ease.
- Stealth: The Skuggalegt polymer coating makes the Lacera extremely discreet, making it very difficult, if not impossible to pick up on sensors or scanners. The weapon also has an integrated silencer, making it effectively dead silent at the point of discharge.
- Stretch: An extraordinarily high muzzle velocity allows for engagement at incredible distances with match grade accuracy. The disc only loses its accuracy past 1000 meters.
- Silencer: If the discs are treated with synthetic Void Stone, not only are discs themselves rendered extremely difficult to manipulate with the Force, but the weapon as well. In addition, a target that is struck by the Void Stone may find Void Stone embedded in their body or armor, potentially impairing their ability to use the Force.
- Double Blade: Antimatter disc ammunition can be risky to carry. A penetrating shot to the disc magazine could set all of the discs off at once, triggering a violent matter-annihilation explosion which could vaporize the wielder.
- Storm Surge: As the Lacera exclusively utilizes a verpine linear motor to launch its discs, it is uniquely susceptible to EMP and Ion-based assaults. Unlike a typical slugthrower which utilizes chemical propellant, the weapon quite feasibly be disabled should it be hit by powerful ionizing discharge that overcomes its defenses.
- Blast Back: Antimatter disc ammunition will likely pose a severe hazard to the wielder if it is used at particularly close range, especially if the wielder fires at a target while inside the three-meter blast radius.
Commissioned for Khal’vyssa with her promotion to the rank of Kissai, the Lacera is a hybrid Sith lanvarok-verpine shatter launcher. Modernizing the traditional Sith lanvarok, the weapon is enhanced with a Verpine linear motor to accelerate the disc to blistering speeds. This dramatically elevates its utility in combat, making it quite a viable option to use against heavily armored enemies where the discs fired by the ancient version would have simply bounced off of armor plating.
In technical terms, the Lacera fires a ~330 gr neuranium disc projectile at a muzzle velocity of 2.5 km/s. This projectile is propelled by electromagnetic (Verpine linear motor) means, giving the weapon a muzzle energy of ~67 kJ. This is generally more than enough kinetic force for the disc to shatter virtually all types of infantry armor on impact, in addition to being a potentially significant threat against lightly-armored and thin-skinned combat vehicles. As such, the disc’s damage profile has more resemblance to that of an autocannon round than it does to a standard lanvarok disc. Even in the potentially unlikely event that penetration fails, the projectile can impart extreme amounts of blunt kinetic force on impact, generating concussive waves of overpressure that can blow open body cavities, shatter vital components, smash bones, sever limbs, and liquify organs.
The Lacera adds another ranged option to Khal’vyssa’s arsenal, one that harkens back to Sith martial tradition while displaying extreme efficacy against heavily armored troopers, trained Force-sensitives, and various other targets.
