Private Lack of Morality

It was a nice and simple day on Dantooine. Ralen had decided to take a stroll outside of Khoonda on this particular day. He wandered far enough that he came across another one of the local settlements.

He stayed for the afternoon, enjoying a nice meal made by a local of the settlement, before he began to take his leave. As he was at the outskirts however, a group of pirates had arrived and began to pillage the settlement, setting it up to be lit a-flame.

Even though he was still at the settlement, able to stop it, he made no move to. He simply looked on, the small smile on his face– the decoration of a smile on his face, never fading. His head was titled almost in curiosity as to what the pirates would do next.

Though, he couldn't focus on them alone for long. He felt a presence coming close. One that made the force surrounding them lighter, and easier to breathe around. A Jedi, if he had to guess. As soon as they came closer however, the settlement was set alight, engulfing it in flames.

Yet Ralen Zevros didn't even flinch at the acts.

Her blade hummed and thrummed as she warded off the blaster fire from the pirates. They had already done their evil deed, she had been too late to prevent it. She was not too late to protect the last few townsfolk that had not yet run away. These that remained were trying to save their town. Ala would fight beside them.

Upon seeing a Jedi joining the fray, the pirates decided that they had already accomplished everything that they desired too. As they boarded their skiffs, they kept Ala at bay with a final volley of blaster fire. She deflected them, most redirected back at the repulsers on the skiffs, but it was not enough to damage the hovering vehicles and the pirates escaped.

There was another presence, something that she had sensed upon arriving, but only now she turned to face him.

"You...Force wielder...your assistance was gravely needed," she said sternly, before turning to help carry buckets of water to put out the fire.

He looked towards the Jedi, his head tilting even more to the right, as he followed when she went to help put out the fire.

"No, it wasn't. I see no reason why I should interfere with other's lives. I see nothing wrong with what they did, so I fail to understand why you believe I was needed."

He followed the Jedi as she was using water buckets to pit out the fire. The way he was walking, the way he carried himself, it was like Ralen was oblivious to everything around him.

"You, on the other hand, decided to act. I'm simply curious as to why. You aren't the first Jedi I've come across, and you won't be the last. But, no matter how similar you all may be, you all have subtle differences that you decided should dictate your actions."

Water hit the flames, and Ala threw the bucket to one of the youngsters who was refilling them for her. She took the next bucket offered her and through the water again. With each through, she directed the water's dispersion through her connection to the Force. She had very little time for a debate with someone who would not lift a finger to help, but she did shoot the guy a glance. It seemed silly to give him an 'evil glare' given that it appeared he was blind.

"Your lack of action is in itself an act of evil...either help or leave this place," she said, scorn evident in her tone.

Ralen's face never changed, nor did his demeanor. He continued around the scene as he had done before.

"There is no need to have such a harsh look, nor scornful tone, Jedi. You act as you wish, and I do not hold that against you, but I ask you do the same for me."

He slightly paced around the spot, but still showed any lack of anything around him, bothering him.

"I often wonder why it is I'm blind, yet see clearer than others. Can you tell me why you refuse to see that which you reject?"

Ala let out a large, "Harrumph."

She threw another bucket of water, but then was redirected by the townsfolk to their barn. It had caught alight, and within its hold was their whole years worth of grain.

"No time for philosophy," she said as she ran over the wooden building.

Standing before the barn, she stretched forth her hands. The air around the fire shimmered, and warped in a spherical shape. The fire quickly grew, but did not go beyond the barrier that she projected around that part of the barn.

Ralen came to a stop and tilted his head, still remaining in a state which made him appear to be in a dream-like daze.

"If I were to assist you with your perceived 'issue', would you indulge my curiosity?"

He came to a stop, facing in the Jedi's direction awaiting her response.

"Would that be a sufficient trade, Jedi?"

His tone never changed from its soft-spoken nature.
