SPECIAL FEATURES
- All piping, trim, and buttons are made of embossed silver plated metal to resemble songsteel.
- Wool resists and staves off freezing temperatures.
- Detachable armorweave single shoulder cape for wiping off blood or excrement.
- Specialized “hard-case” styled duraplast slots and pockets by the wrists and hips for stowing sensitive materials -shielding datapads or slicer materials from some EMP/ION damage.
- Secured razor blades in front collar to deter an enemy from pulling the user down.
- Ten pockets for holding various tools or roses of the trade.
- Loops and straps inside coat to secure more sizable items if discretion is key.
- As expensive as a Core-world type speeder.
Strengths:
-With Speed and Grace: lightweight construction allows the user to retain stamina instead of wasting focus jumping around in heavy armor.
-Astonishing Protection: armorweave wool in combination with phrik plates can provide extraordinary protection from standard blaster bolts and lightsaber strikes -along with offering stable resistance against sharp objects like claws or fangs. All this, of course, only works if it strikes the protective plates.
-Functional in Style and Form: high quality slate gray and Prussian blue dyed wool resists wrinkling and staining to provide the wearer the peace of mind that an errant blood splatter would not ruin the coat.
Weaknesses:
-Bullets Need Not Apply: while plates and overall construction could possibly withstand a glancing shot from a bullet, most direct hits would painfully smash the protective plates of the coat into the user. Because there is no frame or fixed underlay, higher calibers can even cause the protection to rip and crush the user.
-Not Cool for the Summer: wearing such a frock coat in humid conditions or desert climates is ill advised. The wearer would have to contend with dehydration from all the sweating, and even risk possible heat stroke.
-Explosive Survival is not Expected: attempting to withstand explosive damage, whether thermal, implosion, or fragmentation is unlikely in this coat. Moreover, explosive bolts would most likely tear apart the fabric of the suit and compromise any protective qualities.
DESCRIPTION:
The second in a specific style of trench-coat, the Major designed this coat in the aftermath of being reduced to an extensive hospital visit after a blaster induced friendly fire incident while on a mission in the First Order’s capital world. Blaster damage is in a word, effective. In the light and haunting memory of such pain, she decided to focus her efforts on negating such a crippling blight upon her body from ever happening again. This is all wrapped up in a highly adaptable package that offers specific survivability from certain threats. Regardless of protection, motion is the focus of the design. Not being hit by something is of course the best defense....
Of the Major’s specific Fallanassi tribe: hunting, tracking, and markswomanship were lauded as worthy traits. Ironically, they had a healthy penchant for pompous designs and elegance -along with a focus on speedy, aggressive, fluid combat. It is of course an irony that a follower of the White Current would consider the violent nature of bloodshed and be raised with her family to be hunters. One has to wonder if something more sinister is not guiding the movements of the Major. Something of this world manipulating a Fallanassi is impossible; something otherworldy, however, is a different prospect altogether...
