The Elysium Empire desperately needed an anti-fighter ship, as revealed by its' early engagements. However the Empire had limited resources and had been very demanding with its' allies, Veinstein Labs and Innovations, and MandalArms. Therefore King Valhoun decided to call on his people to design a ship. The result was a flood of possible designs, many of them poor, made by people with little or no engineering or naval experience.
However, among all of the designs, one, designed by a civilian of The Empire that chose to remain anonymous, was perfect. It was based off The Lancer-class frigate used by The Galactic Empire years ago, but it was updated, focusing more on combat capabilities than mobility. The ship was exactly what The Empire needed, but without production capabilities it was delayed for several months. Finally, King Heath Valhoun reluctantly requested another order from MandalArms, creating five of the new Lancer-II Class Frigates.
Now, four of the five ships have been produced and are ready for combat as The Elysium Empire continues its' growth...

- Slow and Heavy: The Lancer-2 is the exact opposite of The Lancer 1 when it comes to speed and maneuverability. While the base model is fast and able to maneuver accordingly to deal with the fighter squadrons it was created to combat, the Lancer-2 is heavier and more armed, thus limiting its' mobility.
