• Porcupine: The Lancer Class Starfighter is equipped with several swivel mounted laser cannons, controlled by a droid brain, allowing it to engage enemy vessels behind it and to the sides, as well as concentrating a devastating barrage of firepower forward when needed. This allows the Lancer Starfighter to engage several enemy targets at once, giving it an edge in dogfights.

• Blind Side: The Lancer Class suffers the same issue as ancient TIE fighters did. The wings of the vessel prevent the pilot from visually seeing what is to their sides, and the heavy armor around the pilot prevents further view both above and below. To counter this, the interior of the cockpit is filled with a digital screen system, displaying a simulated visual of space around the ship using cameras. Should these cameras be damaged or disabled, it could leave the pilot at a serious disadvantage an lethal risk.

The Lancer Class Heavy Starfighter is the first vessel produced by the joint efforts of the Brotherhood of the Maw and those following Lord Odion, a recent arrival to the ranks of the Sith. Taking inspiration from the X-Wing starfighter still prevalent in the modern galaxy, the Lancer Class is designed to fill a similar role in the Brotherhood of the Maw's fleet. Capable of serving as a space superiority fighter, as well as a light bomber thanks to its proton torpedo launcher, the Lancer Class can fill a number of roles within the Maw's fleets.
