Lansal Akira
The Last Akiran Vigilant
Lansal was born and raised in one of the Nysillin farms that dotted the clearings of Felucia. For centuries, these farming communities had been defended by the Farmers' League, a militia made up of the rural farmers and led by the Akiran Vigilants, an eccentric order of Force-using Warriors whose traditions were built from century-old tales of warriors from the sky who defended the villages from innumerous threats.
When Sith control over the planet began to tighten, demanding higher quotas from the villagers, the Vigilants and the League began to conduct open war against the Empire, which invited Sith reprisals. Lansal's village was targeted in one such action and was destroyed despite the intervention of the VIgilants, with most of its survivors enslaved to work in the growing factory complexes in the cities of Felucia. Those that remained free, including Lansal, joined the League. He displayed Force sensitivity and was trained as a Vigilant, and was soon leading raids of his own.
The war took a sour turn once the Empire fell apart, as marauding Sith warbands now pushed deep into the jungles, enslaving Jungle Felucians into their armies and directly attacking fortified villages. While the League and Vigilants could hold out against such attacks, the Sith also began to use chemical weapons manufactured on-planet. In a desperate gambit, the Vigilants struck at the chemical processing plant in Niango, aiming to force the leaders of the Sith warbands to personally defend their prized facility. They took the bait, and in the climactic battle in Niango, the Sith leaders were slain to the last and the chemical plant destroyed. The Vigilants, however, paid a steep price. Already depleted from years of fighting, every last one of them died in the battle or the ensuing chemical smog. All except for Lansal.
The bittersweet victory would not last long, as other desperate Sith warbands showed up soon after, and Lansal was left to fight a losing guerrilla war on his own, rushing from village to village to assist what remained of the League while trying to eradicate the many jungle monsters that had been twisted by the Dark Side after decades of Sith occupation. The Felucians held out until the Ashlan Crusade finally arrived to purge the Sith from the planet, and Lansal pledged himself to their cause.
Now operating as the last member of the Vigilants, Lansal works to ensure the Crusade helps rebuild Felucia's infrastructure and purge the jungles of Bogan monstrosities. The power vacuum left in the destruction of the Vigilants and most of the League has also led to competing militias springing up on the planet, and Lansal works hard to make sure they cooperate. Most importantly, Lansal aims to rebuild the Akiran Vigilants and preserve or rediscover the lost knowledge of his order.
