The Laren Interceptors were developed prior to the launch of the Charger II Prototype. The idea of the Laren was to create and develop a droid fighter designed to take out missiles. This specific job would enable vessels like the Charger II and the Raskova III do their jobs as escorts. It also launched a [SIZE=10pt]full fledged[/SIZE] droid fighter investment from Primo Victorian Shipwright.
The design of the interceptor came from the ancient Sith Empire archives. Primo Victoria took the design and made it smaller. Utilizing a heuristic processor data from the interceptors successes and failures allowed the interceptors to reason and formulate solutions. Additionally, data from the droids are also used to study missile movements and designs allowing for the study and creation of better anti-ordnance processors.
Equipped with the new Tasha Plasma Cannons, these cannons enable the interceptors to take out or disrupt missiles.
