Large fast paced threads and keeping track

Do you use the @mention system to relay who you are interacting with in a large invasion or Rebellio

I had a conversation earlier today and I wanted to see what the general population on the board thought.

This deals with large, face paced invasions and rebellions.

I have a poll right here and feel free to answer as you like with additional comments posted thereafter.

I had mentioned that personally, I do not expect every writer to read every post in a rebellion or an invasion if they were not specifically tagged to be interacted with. Mainly because these threads move so fast and are so chaotic.

My method to tackle these large threads are to state my location, write who I am directly engaging, ( or near by) and hope that they interact back. Anyone else I am not expecting to go over what I'm attempting to do because it would just be unfeasible for writer to read a thread that could quite literally go into the hundreds in a single night.

The only difference is if I post an ATTN All in the ooc and in the thread with massive bright red font so that whatever condition I am doing, ( like battle meditation for example) is at least known. How the writers react to it is up to them, but at least I gave them notice.

However, I won't fault a writer if they were not directly affected by whatever I am doing. If anything like that were to show up, I would simply just PM them or tag them in the OOC as a "hey I posted to you here in case you missed it."

How about you? Thoughts and such?

Do you tend to skim posts or do you read the entire posts for your interactions?

I read the entirety of all posts, with the exception of Fleet, since I don't play a Naval character. I only skim what's happening in the sky to see if anything the Fleeters have posted affects ground positions.

Tag. Read. React.

That's what I do, but they are underlined as a rule by being understanding to other writers and not expecting anything on an outcome set in stone.

Oh...and not take it TOO seriously, because, y'know, fun and enjoyment and creating something engaging for all like it's come right off the silver screen.

I tend to skim as many of the posts as possible, but I only read through the ones that are at my location.

If there is too much going on at my location, I limit that down to just who is tagging me.

Frankly, the tag system is there for a reason, followed by PMing if the tags don't work.

I'd love to be able to read all of the posts in a rebellion/invasion/etc. but it's just not feasible for me personally with RL constraints. It can be a lot to sift through when you wake up and there's 30+ new posts, but I applaud those who can keep track of what's going on at multiple locations in a thread.

So typically I skim those that are at my location and do my best to thoroughly read through any posts that I'm tagged in before reacting. Of course, I still miss things sometimes. I also try and follow fights/story lines that catch my eye :)

I am pretty lazy, so it's impossible for me to sit down and read every post in a Rebellion/Invasion thread, considering there are like 20 new posts in a second.

I read the posts that I am tagged, and check what's happening around my character occasionally.

Related to what Six-O said, it depends on my actions. If i'm fleeting, I read all the fleeting posts and skim most of the rest (typically for any content that might interact with fleeting). Similarly, were I not fleeting, I likely would do the same to posts mostly in space.

I only read the posts in which I'm tagged. I sometimes skim through the posts in a nearby location, but not always. If I need to know what's happening around, I usually just ask the writers for a short overview.
