I've been mulling this idea over for a while now and I've decided to commit to it. So as you can tell from the title, I'm going to be holding a writing competition. And because I know you all have short attention spans, I'm going to go ahead and list the available prizes first.

The competition will be held in the corresponding thread in the Auction House. All OOC discussion is to take place in this thread. Only competing stories should be posted in the Auction House thread.

• All submissions must be complete short stories with a beginning, middle, and end
• Each submission must be between 5,000 and 8,000 words long
• Only one submission per writer
• Submissions do not need to be related to SWChaos
• Submissions will not be considered SWChaos Canon

The contest will run until the first of September.

Submissions will be judged both on general writing skills (spelling, grammar, punctuation, exc) and on the quality of the story itself. Each story should have a believable plot, likable or dislike-able characters, and show some form of character development.

What is the full length Chaos has as a limit? I only reached it once, recognized there was a limit, so edited to keep them less than the limit. I know its more than 4k words, but not how much more.

Also, would the winner, if they have their own Canon Company, be able to have one of the two merge with theirs so as not to break the rules?

And I think the max post length limitation has been removed, because Draco just tried 30K and it went through without an issue.

Pretty sure there isn't a Max Word Count anymore or its exponentially larger than you remember bub. Its above 30,000 words these days. Is that what you want? Or did you think it was still in the 5-10,000 word range?

Alright then. We'll aim for stories between 5,000 and 8,000 words long.

I may end up asking a few people for their input, but I'll mainly be handling this myself.

Imperial State Hypernautics is not a canon company, so it shouldn't be an issue. As far as merging a canon company into another company... Don't do that. If you're writer account is ineligable for first place prize due to existing canon company ownership, simply state as much in your entry or figure something out with the Factory Judges.

Again though, this is an OOC contest. Which of your characters gets the reward, how they get the reward, and why... is up to the winners to decide.

I have already seen merges consisting of Canons, so I know they're able. But if you don't think I should, I'll bounce back a step.

Mandal was the reason I was going to write.
