Joury’s lightsaber was constructed from a series of carefully-made plans, drawing on several sources to inspire her concept, ranging from notable lightsabers constructed in the past; her own Master’s lightsaber, Sitara; and, on her own heritage and experience, designed for the fighting style she is developing. Joury sought out unusual materials, and developed the design concept for a lightsaber that echoed all she had been, was now, and hoped to become.
The components themselves, and the overall design, doesn’t really deviate from anything which hasn’t been thought of or done before, only brings different concepts together into a single concept. Which isn’t to say that she didn’t put her own signature on the design. On the contrary, she did exactly that.
As her own fighting style may have originally began with training in Forms III and VI, she truly embraced Forms IV, V (both Shien and Djem So) and VII (Both Juyo and Vaapad), as well as Jar’Kai and Trakata. The result is a style which focuses on speed and cunning, precision-strikes delivered quickly and unexpectedly, without opening herself to unnecessary risks, and then combines aggressive unrelenting counterattacks, meant to utterly devastate an opponent, ending the risk quickly and skillfully rather than to be drawn into an enemy’s terms. It uses Force-based techniques, unorthodox holds, acrobatics and athleticism, all combining into a style which is well-met against one opponent or many, be they armed with blasters or blades. However, in a single duel, the style becomes strategic and subtle, meant to frustrate an opponent’s attacks and respond with sly, quick, efficient and unnoticed yet masterful techniques, which gave her the appearance of effortlessness in one-on-one combat. As some have said, “Joury attacks like a hurricane, striking with all of the sudden fury and relentless violence of a storm, but she finishes like a whisper or a gentle kiss from a false lover just as blade enters your heart,” and it was this philosophy which informed her design. The natural curvature of the rancor tooth pommel allowed quick transitions to and from reverse grips, while the blade adjustment and dual phase nature of the blade itself made fighting close-in while dueling or in confined spaces just as possible as battling several foes on an open battlefield. Joury’s enhanced cardiovascular system, reflexes, and strength wove together into her style, and her lightsaber was an acknowledgement of her abilities.
Tightly-wrapped with rancor hide for better grip and the use of Force-imbued wood from an Ankarres-Brylark tree inlay to the sheathing (see Below), which together with the casing uses Iridonian Damascus, left the lightsaber surprisingly lightweight and easily manipulated for more delicate, subtle techniques, and yet gave it enough heft and balance to allow for larger, more powerful striking methods to be equally as effective. Joury also placed a miniaturized deionizer and energy sink into the rancor tooth, which sat just beneath and over the weapon's pommel cap, fitted securely into place.
In secret, Joury cast a blood trail spell on her lightsaber, an ancient technique used by the Dathomiri Witches for many centuries, making her able – with undistracted focus and meditation – to locate it were it ever to be lost or stolen, and even – if left without interruption – to see where and with whom it might be. The choice of a layer of wood between Damascus steel for the blade was not merely ornamental, as the wood’s Force-enhancing ability gave her powers and abilities an added push behind them, and its calming aura would ensure that she not become overzealous and leave herself open foolishly, yet promised that her lightsaber would be remarkably resilient against damage as well.

- Lightsaber is resilient against damage and can take a surprising level of punishment due to the durability of the materials used and the overall concept of its design.
- Ankarres-Brylark Hybrid wood gives her Force abilities an added boost, and provides a calming aura to help her to maintain focus and not become over-confident, reckless, or lazy.
- Blood trail spell ensures Joury can find her weapon, no matter where it might be, if it becomes lost or stolen, and can even – with unbroken meditative focus – see where and with whom it might be.
- Force-activation means no one except Joury can ignite this blade, and the wood used makes it even uncomfortable to be near for Darksiders.
- Designed exclusively to fit her own fighting style and abilities, this lightsaber is difficult to wield given its power and design, requiring her to maintain focus and discipline when employing it more than what is usually needed by other designs.
- A highly-specialized design, the materials were rare and costly and construction was painstakingly slow, making this lightsaber extremely difficult to repair or replace should it actually become damaged or destroyed.
- The lightsaber has the same weaknesses as many other designs, making it hard to easily penetrate materials such as phrik.
- The lightsaber, though able to continue working underwater, will still short out if it comes into contact with cortosis-weave type armor or shields.
- Though attuned decidedly to the Light Side of the Force, and to Joury in particular, there remains something sinister about it which often makes other Jedi to pause or feel momentarily anxious or uneasy when it is drawn and ignited by her. Not helping matters, it flashes red for just a split-second, almost barely imperceptible, before settling into the deep purple of its usual coloration.
- Lightsaber holster, able to be fitted onto Joury's Utility Belt, uses resin to mask the weapon's Force signature. Detailed leatherwork shows the Sigil of the Silver Jedi Order. (see Below)
