Last Stand of the Anselmi

[media]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9szldJEzD5U[/media]

The subjugation of Glee Anselm had been completed. The planet was now under One Sith control and protection. The former ruling Council of Ten had been deposed, and a new one had risen in its place. However, there had been a few notable changes. The Council served more as advisors, rather than an actual ruling body. The Sith had also added a totalitarian twist, and amongst them there had been elected one for the position of Supreme Leader. Of course, all of the council members had been handpicked and approved by the Sith, so which of them got elected for that position did not matter. They would all bend to the will of the Dark Lord. In truth, he or she had little actual power. The so-called Supreme Leader was little more than a puppet. All that remained now was to crush the Anselmi rebellion.

During the Sith invasion, the Nautolans had been pushed back by the Anselmi. It was all a part of a Sith ploy. The Sith Assassins had been placed in various key positions, pushing the Anselmi to wage war, and in some cases, directly supporting their armies. The former government of Glee Anselm proved incapable of dealing with the threat. Now the Sith were here to take care of the matter. The propaganda machine was hard at work, and it was believed that the Anselmi could be used to increase Sith popular opinion. They were all bricks and pieces in the game played by the Sith.

Since the official takeover of Glee Anselm, agents of the Sith had taken command of Nautolan forces. They were once more rising from the sea, and they were pushing the Anselmi back. It had only been some weeks since the start of it, but so far it had been a very successful campaign. However, their gains had not been made without taking heavy losses. The Nautolans were genetically stronger, not to mention better equipped, but the warlike Anselmi were ferocious. In the end, without the Sith Assassins working undercover and leading them, the Anselmi stood no chance to stem the tide. Glee Anselm belonged to the Nautolans now, their war justified through Anselmian aggression.

The re-conquest had been planet wide, and as such, the Anselmi had been fought on multiple fronts. Tanek had led his forces, while other Sith had taken charge of offenses elsewhere. Other Sith had joined in with Tanek's group as well. They had executed their orders to the letter, and captured their objectives with lethal efficiency. The Togruta liked to play a fast-paced, high risk high gain game. He had felt the hate stirring through his camp after almost being on forced march more often than not. But when they caught their enemies unaware, arriving before what was thought possible, it had all changed. The Togruta had gambled, but it had paid off.

The Anselmi were a warlike people, and furiously independent. They were divided into many different tribes, or nations as they would call them. They may have attacked the Nautolans simultaneously, but their unity did not stretch far beyond that. Now, however, pushed back on all fronts, the Anselmi had been forced to unite. From all over Glee Anselm, Anselmi refugees and remaining troops had flocked to what they considered to be their holy ground. Here, the warrior tribes had united under one banner, to face a common enemy. Here they would make their last stand, and here they would be crushed.

Similarly, the Sith armies had united, finally meeting up and forming into one grand army. The numbers on both sides were great. No doubt the next day would litter the battlefield with corpses. It was the way of the Dark Side. Only the strong survived. And the Sith needed the strong to keep fighting for them. War never ends. Tanek and his forces had arrived just this morning, but the troops had been gathering for a few days. Scouts were posted all over the terrain, surrounding the Anselmi encampment. There would be no retreat. There was nowhere left to go but into the Netherworld.

It was now, on the eve of battle, that the Sith commanders and their entourage met up in a large tent. A war council was held, where the fate of tomorrow was decided. Ever the traditionalist, Tanek was dressed in the dark Sith garbs. Naturally, he was all in black. Black pants, boots, the hooded Sith robe, with the tunic and undertunic underneath it, which complimented his muscular form well. Living a life in constant conflict, as was his philosophy, had its perks. Being subject to the constant physical strain that came from being Darth Vornskr's apprentice didn't hurt either. Or, well, it did, but it helped make both body and mind hard as stone.

Looking across the war tent, he made note of some of the individuals there. He didn't really know anyone there well personally, but he was aware who to expect. Some, he knew, had been there since the start of the Sith invasion. Others had only joined now, to finish the Anselmi off. The girl, [member=Melori Raaf], he heard had been involved in claiming a building and marking it as a point of strategic value to establish a Sith base. Melori laid the foundation, upon which Sith means to control the populace was built. The leader of the assassins, [member=Darth Ferus], was there as well. He had played an integral part in the initial uprising of the Anselmi, and would play an equally great part in their fall. It was almost poetic. Reports coming in from his theatre of war had been particularly gruesome. For the Anselmi. He was accompanied by one of his promising assassins. Her name had not been mentioned in any reports. The Rattataki, [member=Saiah], was not the kind you heard of. Had a report mentioned her, something had gone wrong. You didn't hear of her involvement, you only heard of her results. Tanek knew she had been keeping herself busy. While not favouring the role of a general, Saiah was fully capable of breaking armies. As always, when gathering large numbers to serve in an army, logistics had to match. Saiah had been a step ahead of one of the Anselmi leaders, harassing their supplies every step of the way. What little they had received had been poisoned. With their moral at an all time low, they had quickly fled when a Nautolan army had descended upon them.

It was difficult not to feel pride from being associated with the Sith. Tanek couldn't help but feel that had the Anselmi leaders seen who had gathered in this tent, plotting their demise, they would've committed collective suicide.

Vengeance stepped into the war tent last. He had been there by Tanek's side when the planet was taken but after drying off had been pulled away to a frozen tundra to "cool off". He chuckled looking across the table at him.

"I am glad I made it in time." "I really do owe you for that unexpected swim last time I was here."

Vengeance laughed.

"Only a Sith would try and drown his own support just to win a game." "That set of robes still smells like sushi."

He looked around the table at the other Sith. One or two were familiar to him the rest strangers. Not that Vengeance really cared. He was here for the slaughter plain and simple. The rest could wait until later. Truthfully he had spent so much time bouncing from war zone to war zone he had not had time to pay attention to who his fellow Sith were. Eventually it would most likely come back to bite him he knew. He looked up at Tanek glancing down at the tactical map.

"So this is the final push the one to end it all?"

He smirked.

"Round two then?" "You won the first round with the water works, care to make it double or nothing?"

He chuckled. For Vengeance it was still just a game but it had the double duty of additional training to supplement what he was already getting at the temple and all the other operations.

The Sith was sat near Tanek, and gave a small nod from beneath the heavy cloak he donned, then his eyes pivoted over to the over Sith, greeting each one with a subtle change of expression. Mala's hand reached across the table and grasped a large map of the area, along with the plans for the attack; flicking through the latter idly. He unfolded his map and studied it for a while as his colleagues spoke amongst themselves. Darth Tauros then proceeded to grab a pencil and begin scratching marks and notes onto the important parts of the vital piece of paper. He highlighted a small section, just next to a large swamp, splaying it out onto the table.
"Here is where the Anselmi are currently gathered." he spoke with haste, and clearly wanted to get this over with. "We are over here, about twenty miles away." another cross was marked on the map. "The majority of the terrain from here to there is swamp and marsh. We cannot go on foot." Mala said, placing a large hand up to his chin, stroking it slowly. "My Varactyl may be able to get across, but I suggest STAPs or Speeder Bikes."
He waited for the others to speak, opinions on how to get across the wasteland. How he hated this planet. Too much water - but then again he hated planets with too little. Dathomir was just right. A little hot, a little cold, dangerous, feral, everybody trying to kill eachother, but it was just right.

Darth Timoris

To err is human, to forgive divine. And I'm no god
She recognised some of those gathered. She'd been trained by and had trained the leader of the Assassins. And she remembered to speak to him about her former Master and sister (for she considered both titles to be redundant now) and check if the rumours about her defection could be verified.

Saiah was a true Sister - of the Covenant - as was Sitara and of course Greta, she even shared the same Master with the latter. And she knew Vengeance and Darth Tauros from her time on Dagobah of course.

Only a short while ago she knew no-one whereas now she was struck by how she could be on some odd planet and be with a group of people she knew well enough to call them by their name.

So she listened and waited for instruction. Sometimes you took the lead and others you simply followed orders. Today was definitely a time for doing your duty and sucking up any arrogance. She was here to do a job and reflect positively on her Master.

While Saiah was indeed not the kind of person you heard of, she was there indeed. She stood between [member="Tanek Santii"] and [member="Darth Ferus"], clad in her assassin armour, made distinctly hers by a blue pattern running from the top of her hood, down her back, to the lowest hem. Her pale, grey eyes darted to @Vengeance as he entered. She had not met this one before so she looked to the two red people, Tanek and Ferus, for confirmation of his identity. A small nod from either would suffice for her to stand down. She raised no obvious animosity to the newcomer, nor could surface thought leak through the alchemised tererantek leather lining the inside of her hood. Yet, her mind played with the hilt of her lightsabre, ready to bring it into her hand.

The Rattataki had been among the Anselmi for months previous to the invasion of Glee Anselm, sowing the seeds of the war they currently reaped from richly. As such, she had gained a few insights and planted a number of informants. Many were dead, of course, but some stayed loyal to her false promise of amnesty when the Nautolans came rolling in with the Sith at their backs. She watched as [member="Darth Tauros"] marked the placements on the map. When he came to silence, she interjected with her own information regarding the Anselmi supply lines, which she had been harassing ever since the Sith invaded. Her finger traced a line across a river on the map.

"My network tells me of a shipment from an external source being transported down this river to their main encampment. I expect it to be antidotes to the poison I have been using. With the large quantities in question, I was forced to downgrade to a more common type. If we stop these supplies, we can keep their morale low, if they receive it their spirits will rise. I suggest a small raiding party of no more than 50 good men. I can lead it myself if needed."

Again her eyes surveyed the faces in the tent, scanning for reactions, anomalies, traitors?. She noted [member="Melori Raaf"] , whom she knew only by face and first-name, foremost from the Covenant of the Black Rose. She had to admit she knew far too little about her. Then again, Melori had never been a target of her investigations nor were there any strong suspicions against her that required investigations.

[member="Sitara Qin"] [member="Greta Kohler"]

Ahh, Glee Anselm. This was Greta's first visit here. She had not participated in the domination for the planet as the girl was still the midst of the early stages of her training back then. With that now out of the way, she felt that the least she could do was to at least participate in the after fight. She was dressed in the simple outfit she usually wore, a close fitting suit made out of Glisterweb silk and black armourweave that hugged her body nicely.

Going over the brief mission details, she had learnt that the person in charge of this attack would be no other than the up and coming star, the Togruta knight, [member="Tanek Santii"]. He was one of the reasons, the acolyte wanted to join in the particularly wet battle for the land of the Anselmi. He was quite the inspiration, and being the staunch One Sith loyalist that she was, Greta was immensely in awe of the hard work and efforts he had put in for the empire. His efforts had not gone unrewarded, as he was recognised for them as he thoroughly deserved the promotion to Knight. Helped that he looked rather cute too.

Getting her head back into the game, the young acolyte listened as the rest of Sith collective gathered in the tent began to put forth ideas, strategies and what not. The only figure she recognised was her fellow sister of the covenant, [member="Melori Raaf"]. From what she had gathered so far, this would be the last stand, the one that would crush whatever opposition still stood up against them. It was also then that a Rattataki, hooded up in a black robe, spoke up, putting forward her idea of an attack of the encampment down the river. Raiding party, hmm? Sounds fun, it did. Greta then spoke up, for the first time since the meeting started.

"Raiding party? Sounds like my kinda thing."

The War Tent was filling up. Tanek made a point of trying to be as well informed as possible. To this end, he had a Nautolan, whose name he was constantly forgetting and mispronouncing, run around camp and gather reports.

He needed no report to tell him who [member=Vengeance] was, however. The two had infiltrated the Nautolan government building together, and taken it down. Tanek gave [member=Saiah] a confirming nod, easing her suspicion. He was one of them, and authorized to enter. What was it he felt when he saw him enter? Guilt? Did the Togruta Knight possess such emotions? He had not intended Glee Anselm to become his fellow Sith's watery grave. "That... was unexpected." he said, making eye contact with him. Truly, he had not intended for either of them to drown. Tanek had been just as surprised to see a wall of water come crushing towards him. "In the end, it all worked out." in no way was he making excuses. In fact, come to think of it, he felt no guilt at all. The Dark Side was constantly testing them, yet they had endured. To him, this was what it meant to be Sith. They were both stronger for it.

He was about to respond to Vengeance's challenge, but got distracted as [member=Darth Tauros] spoke. Tanek stood silent, listening as Tauros said his piece, followed by Saiah. Only when they finished, did he offer his opinion. He shook his head "They have a large army. We need ours to crush them. We don't have the resources to get everyone on a speeder bike." Due to the Sith's main points of interest being underwater, and the few spots of land the planet had to offer often being covered by swamps, they had brought with them a low amount of ground vehicles. They'd need to find another point of entrance. Thankfully, he had come prepared. It was all about knowing your terrain, and your own strengths. After all, why else would they have deployed there if they did not have some way to reach the enemy from their position?

"I agree, we should send a raiding party. We will rob them of any relief." Whether the raiding party stole the supplies, or simply destroyed them, he'd leave optional. "Acolyte Kohler will lead the raid" he looked from Saiah to Greta, assuming she was up for the task. She looked stunning in her outfit, which complimented her figure well. The blonde beauty proved to be a constant distraction at the corner of his eye. Tanek felt confident about letting her lead. The young Acolyte's name was not unknown to him. He had heard of her deeds on Telti. From this, he also knew she had experience leading troops.

"We should hit it tonight. It'll be the final blow to their moral before our attack." Now it was Tanek's turn to point at the map. "When the time comes, this will be our entry point." His red finger pointed at the sea near the Anselmi camp. They could follow the same river Saiah pointed out, following its current out into open water. "Our army is amphibian. We will rise from the sea like a tidal wave and drag the Anselmi down into the depths." not literally, of course. That sounded highly inconvenient. The Nautolans had underwater vehicles aplenty, armoured transports that could land troops on the shores like beached whales. For those non-amphibians, who were pretty much everyone in this tent, that seemed like the safest way to travel. "With the speeder bikes we have, we can send a force across the marshes to flank." Did anyone volunteer to take the lead on that one? How many bikes did they have? 50? 100? 200? Tanek hadn't counted. "We strike at dawn." he said, looking around to see if there were any objections or questions.

Vengeance chuckled at Tanek shaking his head at hearing his swim as the result of an unintended side effect. He shrugged not voicing any other concerns until the briefing started. At each point he nodded getting an idea of what was going on. He was tempted to insert himself into the raid but stopped when there was mention of Speeder bikes over Swamp. He smiled remembering the little trek in Dagobah. Stepping forward a little bit Vengeance spoke.

"I do enjoy a good flanking maneuver and it would not be my first trek over swamp land."

He nodded motioning towards Melori.

"I think she should lead that one." "She has plenty of experience traveling such terrain." "I will join in support to ensure maximum penetration." "If we time it right and hit the same time as the main force it would go along way towards breaking any resistance they may have."

He turned looking at Melori.

"You up for that?"

"It's good to see you taking up a leadership role so well, [member="Tanek Santii"] ." A voice sounded off from the entrance of the tent. Darth Ferus, Hand of the Dark Lord, stepped in rather silently. His signature was non existent, as one could expect of the Assassin, and he was wearing his simple leather armor over his red skin. Blue eyes glanced over to the rest of the group, givning @Vengeance @Greta Kohler @Saiah @Darth Tauros and [member="Melori Raaf"] . All good Sith, all here for the same cause.

To kill the Anselmi.

Within the Lords hand was none other than the same sword he had taken from the Anselmi High General. It was still coated with the blood of those slain, despite the passage of time, and it still looked fresh. An alchemic ritual, one the Zabrak intended to use with this final blow against the Anselmi, kept the blood fresh and coated, absorbing and condensing to be placed within a Basin. Once there, it would have it's own used fuel to become alchemized and stronger.

This was all a means to his own personal eds, but he was here regardless.

"Simply point me in their direction, and I will get to work."

She stood down as [member="Tanek Santii"] signalled that [member="Vengeance"] was no threat. One could call her overly sceptical, but it was a trait that came with the job. A little smile formed on her lips as she pieced together the event of Vengeance's near drowning from their chatter. She could imagine it, and for some reason she found it amusing. Perhaps it was the mental image of them being surprised by a torrent of water that took on a humoristic quality.

As [member="Greta Kohler"] was nominated to lead the suggested raiding party, Saiah nodded. It could be a good chance for her spies to observe the abilities of the Acolyte. "I concur. Acolyte Kohler should lead the Raid on the river shipment." Her eyes darted back to the Togruta, and the look in his eyes as he beheld the blonde was unmistakeable. Again, it was a tool of the trade for Saiah to notice and remember such things. Was it mutual? She looked at Greta. Yes, possibly. Her smile adopted a certain wryness, but as the conversation moved on she let the smile fade into a restful neutrality.

As it was then suggested that [member="Melori Raaf"] were to lead the flanking charge crossing the marshland on speeders, she again had to concur. Melori appeared to be capable as a fighter and if she knew the type of terrain then there would appear to be no one better suited for such a task. "I see no reason to object."

[member="Darth Ferus"], Big Red, the Aspect of War, finally entered the tent. Of course he would be on the front lines, pouring blood into his pretty new weapon. It was what the man did. Playing the theatre of war like a Nautolan jazz record.

He gave a curt nod, approving of the decisions made by the Sith around the table with him. The Zabrak furrowed his tattooed eyebrows, envisioning the looks on the faces of the puny Anselmi as the One Sith and Nautolans took over the last few precious remains of their home.
"How many ships do the Nautolans have?" the Zabrak's voice piped up again, tapping a vague tune into the wooden table as he thought. "I could lead the Nautolan assault from the deep - inside a ship of-course." he suggested with a slight smirk. They would definitely not expect another Sith bursting out of a 'beached whale' on their swampy beaches.

Her suggestion of being part of the raid was met with unanimous agreement among her fellow Sith cadre gathered here today in this small little command tent. The togruta knight who was in command of the operation had decided to place her in charge of the raiding party. That took the acolyte by surprise. She was just intending to be part of the raiding team, not expecting to lead one, especially when there were more senior Sith around. Nevertheless, she was not one to back down from challenges. She was no stranger to being in leadership positions anyway, as she had been a military officer, long before she even became Sith.

Greta gave the fellow Sith a bright smile followed by a playful wink. She noticed that his gaze seemed to linger onto her longer than it was required to. The girl smiled at the thought of that. But it was time to get back to the matters at hand. Clearing her mind of the aforementioned thoughts, she focused her attention back on the discussion.

The knight wanted to the raid to happen tonight, as it would be a big blow to the morale of the Anselmi. Greta agreed. She'd been in a couple of night raids before, and they were especially devastating for the defenders. With only darkness for company, even if they were warned of an impending attack, they would only have their searchlights for company. The frantic searches would yield nothing but increased paranoia as the morale of the defenders would dip even lower. It was then that she came up with a strategy, a morale-shattering one at all. Greta then spoke up, eagerness present in her tone.

"I suggest that we let word to the defenders that a raid would be taking place tonight, but say nothing more. That should keep them up all night, up at their posts, waiting for an attack they had no idea on when it was coming and where. Let the suspense eat them from the inside out, while the paranoia spread among them. The Sith won't be the only enemy they face this night."

Melori listened as different people spoke. As long as she wasn’t given a task that involved swimming or going under the water she was fine.

Swamps? At least it wasn’t Dagobah. “I can handle the terrain if need be,” she offered. “And I have a name you know,” she said to Vengeance. “And from memory, you’ve always liked the idea of being under me, right?” She stifled a smirk.

She shook her head, “Maximum penetration,” she muttered under her breath but a smile played across her lips.

“And two of us should be enough – unless someone wants to join us?” She glanced around. Her preference was action over words and in truth just wanted to get on with the task in hand and end the discussion. It was an aspect of her development her Master was now working on – but for the present she was not comfortable in making speeches.

Vengeance smirked at Melori her comment about enjoying idea of being under her too good to ignore.

"What can I say I like my women aggressive." "It doesn't hurt I seem to recall you like the idea of being.....................on top."

He held the smirk focusing on her for a moment. What did he just say my, did he really just stake claim on her? Nooooo of course not that would be suicide right? Then again he did say women plural. How scandalous of him. Surely he would pay dearly for it. The better question being did he care what the price was.

Vengeance let it hang in the air more than a little amused at the exchange he always seemed to have with her any time they were on the same missions. It was not until she asked about other volunteers did he look at the rest.

"Yes the more the merrier."

Tanek looked across the room one more time, listening as his fellow Sith spoke. The conversation was promising. Truly, the Anselmi were doomed. "Excellent" the Togruta chimed in. "Melori and Vengeance will do the flanking attack. Take as many soldiers as you want. Your only limit is the amount of speeders available" there certainly weren't enough speeders to take away too many troops from the main force to weaken it considerably. "Melori will take lead." it was but a suggestion, though spoken like a command. Mostly because of the following conversation, between Melori and Vengeance. They were of course free to structure the flanking force as they themselves saw fit.

Tanek turned to Tauros with a shrug. "They have enough. And we will all rise from the deep, save for Vengeance and Melori. But feel free to take a command position. Would the left flank suit you?" he said, sounding as if he was trying to accommodate the Knight, but the pace with which he moved on to the next topic suggested that he either didn't expect or had little interest for an objection.

He was about to add some final thoughts, before he was interrupted by the presence of Darth Ferus. How long had he been standing there? He had barely noticed the man enter. "Glad you could join us, Darth Ferus." he offered the Darth a respectful nod.

With all matters settled, it seemed appropriate to conclude the meeting. He considered the words of Greta Kohler, standing thoughtful for a few moments, before nodding slowly. Ultimately, it was her call. "I approve. Let dread keep them awake." a tired enemy was not something he would object to.

"I believe we have our plan. Everyone knows their tasks. Tomorrow, we complete the extermination." gradually, the Sith would start to drift out from the tent. Perhaps some would linger to socialize, but Tanek would at least move out and get some rest before the next day. Greta would probably get the least rest, as she would be preparing herself and whatever troops she felt she'd require for the river raid.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Large waves crashed against the shore near the Anselmi camp. It was a windy day, the sun was just rising from the sea. Something appeared on top of the water. Small at first, similar to mere logs riding the waves, they grew larger, thicker, until it was quite unmistakable what they were. They were transport ships. The Nautolan army was attacking.

Multiple of these would land on shore, and open at the front. Then out from the opening, troops would rush out. They would likely be under fire as they attempted the beach landing. Next to these larger transports were smaller one-man amphibious speeders, that would transport a horde of Nautolans with great speed up to the shore.

The Sith from the meeting the night before were all at their designated and preferred positions. Darth Ferus was unsurprisingly at the vanguard. He would wreck havoc on the Anselmi front lines. The soldiers under his command would have to keep up as best they could. Commanding their forces on the left flank, was (presumably) Darth Tauros, unless some last minute changes had taken place. Tanek himself had yet to emerge from the depths. He was behind the main lines, commanding the reserves. His task was to observe, for now, and apply pressure or support where needed. Who had the right flank again? Perhaps it was one of those Nautolan officers who had proved their worth in previous battles, or perhaps it was one of the other Sith from the war tent. He had completely forgotten.

Vengeance looked over at Melori while standing beside one of the speeder bikes. It was finally time to get down to it. To finally finish securing the planet he had spent so much time and effort to help secure the first time.

He smirked at Melori.

"After you gorgeous our victims aren't going to kill themselves."

He chuckled getting on the speeder bike and firing it up. With his right hand he raised a single hand rotating at the wrist in a circular motion telling all of the troops with them to mount up and get in formation. He was not sure exactly what route Melori was going to lead them but two things he did know.

It would be at neck breaking speed and anyone that fell behind would be left behind. It was part of what he liked about her.

"Lay waste to our enemies, and leave none alive!"
Tauros's booming voice echoed like a gunshot around the camp of the Anselmi, magnified by the Force to inflict pain on those who heard it. Then the Nautolans came, bursting out of the water on the left of the camp, piloting machines and bearing weapons of war. Tauros emerged out of the largest of these machines, riding his Varactyl, with his blades pointed forward, one the average length, the other slightly shorter.
"FIRE!"
The Zabraki Knight ordered, as his Varactyl, Denla began to race forwards, trampling the shocked Anselmi. Denla's light and swift feet made light work of the marsh between the sea and the camp. Her beak snapped and her claws swiped, all the while her master blasted and severed the Anselmi, hot smoke rising from their wounds, contorted looks on their faces,
Tauros heard the roar of speeder bikes thundering down the hill; '[member="Vengeance"] and [member="Darth Timoris"]." he said to himself and then spoke into his Com-Link to [member="Darth Pyrrhus"]:
"We caught them off guard, Tanek. Vengeance and Raaf are coming from... Wherever they are, probably snogging each-other's faces off and my troops have begun to penetrate the camp. Over."
The Sith quickly shut down the com-link after his fellow Knight's reply, and continued the attack.

Ah, the vanguard. All of one, technically. The Zabrak, as he was still a Zabrak during all of this, did not have any troopers or soldiers with him. This had only one reason, that being Ferus would most likely only injure those around him as he charged through. Injure or kill, most likely the later. That was the sort of feeling he was having now, and asides. He needed all the kills he could get with his blade.
On his walk to the Anselmi Stronghold, for he walked while the rest got into position, he casually traced a finger over the dried blood. Unrecognizable words slipped from his lips, impossible to understand. The blade would begin to take on a red glow as he continued with this ritual. Alchemy without a basin. While the blade could not be changed, the power of the blood he would take would last long enough for him to get to a basin and permanently store the blood.
It wasn't long until he reached the first gate. It was a small one, guarded by perhaps five or six of the Anslemi. They knew Ferus's face upon seeing him, and he made no attempt to hide it. A shout of alarm from the first one was all that could be heard before the Sith went into action. Quick as any bullet he flew outwards, taking the very sword they revered to end them.
The first was quick, with the blade thrusting through his throat mid call of alarm. As the blade was withdrawn however, the blood of the Anslemi guard was pulled out with it, leaving a dry husk. Blaster fire rang off as the remaining four tried to take down the Sith, but their shots only pelted the dried corpse of their brother. Ferus, always on the move, quickly carved his way through the group. With each death, another dried corpse would fall, and the red glow on the blade would get stronger.
Such was the nature of his ritual. He needed the blood, and from the dead he could collect it. But only when they died of course.

Darth Timoris

To err is human, to forgive divine. And I'm no god
Vengeance. She couldn’t make her mind up about him. He had his qualities – his desire to kill those that wronged him was a significant plus point. And he made her smile – and sometimes at the points he wanted to!

Regardless, she enjoyed the banter and allowed it to continue unabated. Let’s see if he could back up his words with action.

And she accepted the command to lead the flanking attack on the left and once the speeches were over, headed outside to count the number of available speeders.

There were eleven serviceable. Which was perfect as that meant one each for her and the one that was sailing ever so close to the line in calling her gorgeous – and her squad of Sitherhood troopers. There was nothing wrong with the rank and file soldiers, but Melori preferred to keep close to her those she trusted with her life.

Did that now include Vengeance? Perhaps? They’d worked together before and were both still alive. Perhaps after today he could show what he was really capable of. And by ‘after today’ she really meant tonight.

She ignored the fact he appeared to be taking control by signalling the troopers to get in formation. And she suppressed a smile at the fact they did nothing until she gave the faintest of nods. These were her troopers – hand-picked and had helped keep them alive on Dagobah. And despite their allegiance to Darth Timoris – they had long memories of what had been said in the swamp. If the Acolyte fell behind, she figured none would stop to help him out.

Since being scared witless on one of these during a mission, she’d taken to practising and planned to have one custom-made with a mood changing skin. It was frivolous but appealed to her sense of humour.

So without any warning, she gunned her engine and they were away…

Vengeance chuckled partially out loud and partially to himself. He knew from the very beginning the loyalties of the troops around him. He didn't even flinch when no of them made a move until she nodded to them. He was used to working alone and it suited him just fine. He had not really attached to anyone in particular.............that is until he met Melori. There was something about her that he couldn't shake. He shrugged with a smile as she gunned the engine of her speeder shooting forward. He gave her a few seconds head start before he gunned the engine of his own speeder weaving in and out of the other speeders until he was a hair's breath away from the tail end of hers.

Even then he teased and toyed with her the consequences be darned. He closed his eyes for a brief moment at these speeds it was not long before they were close enough he could practically feel the battle up ahead just kicking off. The smell of death, the screams of the dying were like the warming rays of sunshine on a cold day.

In his excitement he threatened to pull ahead of her in the formation getting there before her. The itch crawled up is spine and through his skull to the point he could already see his own saber springing to life to taste the first drop of blood on this world this day.
