Bracca was a wasteland for old junk, including hundreds of decommissioned Republic ships scattered about from shipyard to shipyard. Kyra was home alone again, looking out the glass panel with a sad expression, wondering if she would ever experience life outside the apartment. It was a rather stale life, one that Ky continuously wished was different because the young girl felt abandoned, forgotten, and even uncared for. This brought her to tears many times and it was usually the droid that was left to care for her when Kyra’s parents were away for work who made the child feel wanted. After the incident, Ky was alone. No parents, no droid, just a young girl with the need to be wanted, accepted even.
The day turned into night quickly and Kyra was growing bored of sitting around with nothing but a hologame table to play. It was repetitive and boring, so she did what any curious young teenager would do. Kyra packed up a few things and a snack just in case she were to get hungry while away, then she left the apartment with an adventure on their mind, hoping to come across something cool to keep her busy the next few hours. She was always worried about getting caught, so Ky figured leaving the building when the sun was down would be her best bet.
With Kyra on the prowl for some fun, Bracca was full of it and more. What she didn’t know, was that the streets are a perilous place for a teenager, or anyone for that matter. It wasn’t five minutes and Ky was already brushing into people by accident. “Come on, kid. Shouldn’t your parents be reading you a bedtime story?!” The stranger blurted out while continuing to walk past. Kyra was taken aback by the incident, almost bringing her to tears, She fought through it and marched on to see what else Bracca had in store for the teenager.
In the distance, the sound of a engine roared to life and caused Ky to twist their attention toward the noise. It was a ship of some sort, or at least that is what Kyra thought it was. The teenager propped herself behind a small crate, looking out from the side to get a better look. Unfortunately, it was too far and she would have to progress closer to see exactly what was going on. “There’s something fishy goin’ on here.” She muttered quietly. Ky had a feeling whoever it was, they were up to no good.
Once the coast was clear, Kyra jumped up and sprinted ahead to the next crate. The engine of the ship was still on, so that meant she would have enough time to get a closer look, but it would also mean that Kyra could potentially get caught. Either way, she was prepared to risk it all just to see why there was a random ship outside the shipyard. Something was going on and Ky planned on finding out exactly what it was, even if that meant risking her own life in the process.
Just when Kyra went to peek out from the edge of the crate, a hand was placed over her mouth and she was dragged off to the ship. Ky tried screaming at the top of their lung, but the hand that covered her mouth was enough to muffle to scream to nearly nothing. There was absolutely nothing left for her to do, so the teenager was placed on the ship inside a small holding cell. Kyra was cuffed and caged, what else could possibly go wrong for her? She was outside for only a short time and now Ky was on some stranger’s ship with no idea on what to do. She could scream some more, but the walls of the ship were too thick for anyone to hear from outside.
She was alone once again, scared, confused, and regretting her decision to leave the apartment. Nobody was around, nothing said to her or why she was even there in the first place. The ship was long gone from Bracca and on its way to Coruscant. It was a long way from home and Kyra was amid a kidnapping. Being cuffed and inside a cage gave her little to no hope, so she felt like there was no choice but to wait this entire thing out.
Hours later, a door slid open and a droid stepped through, making its way to the cage without saying a single word. The door opened and Kyra was free, or so she thought. The droid quickly reached in and grabbed the teenager’s wrist, pulling her from the cell and dragging her to the exit of the ship. The grip was so tight, it felt like the droid was ready to snap her wrist if any sudden movements were made. She held back the tears and walked alongside the droid with absolute confusion.
Once they were off the ship and outside the spaceport, they stopped briefly, and the droid began to look around as if it were scanning everything inside to ensure it was safe for them to continue. With a yank of Kyra’s wrist, they continued until they finally entered some sort of club. The sound of pod racing was heard and Kyra was finally getting annoyed with the grip of the droid. “Hey! You are starting to hurt me, you creepy-lookin’ droid.” She raised their voice and yanked back on the droid’s hand.
