  • Structure Name: Lechner School of Galactic Possibilities
  • Classification: School
  • Location: Lechner School of Galactic Possibilities
  • Affiliation: Alwine Daye Alwine Daye founded the project and heads the construction and curriculum of all the schools that carry her name.
  • Accessibility: The Lechner School of Galactic Possibilities build, buy, or rent, wherever they can. The priority is to always be in urban centers, close to where immigrants and refugees are housed, but the school can also rise in make shift tents during times of need.
  • Description:
The Lechner School of Galactic Possibilities can look like almost any. The first one that was built on Eve, the capital city of the Scintilla, is a grand building, fifty floors tall and its silver exterior shining in the sunlight. It's surrounded by a small urban garden, and can easily be confused for a higher learning academy of sorts. Another place on Eve, this time in the Red Light District, is situated above one of the bigger casinos, and many of the lower end entertainment workers' children go to school there. Unless specially commissioned, the school will look like other buildings around it, and sometimes it can even be found in set up tents among camps.
But big or grand, the purpose of the school remains the same across all branches. Students can be anywhere from toddlers to elderly, as what is taught applies not only to formal academics, but a lot of learning about the galaxy, and bringing those who come from backwater planets and other places where neither education nor basic information about the galaxy were available to them.

Among the curriculum of the Lechner school, students will find galactic geography, basic, introduction to food and drink around the galaxy that are not harmful to you, up to five languages most commonly spoken in the area the school is, economics and finances, current galactic affairs, galactic history, working with droids, basic operations, speeder driving and piloting, mathematics, literature, basic mechanics, and more.

The teachers who work for The Lechner School of Galactic Possibilities are chosen from around the galaxy. Many of them have prior experience and excel in their fields, but recently fresh teachers who've just completed their own studies have been permitted to join. Starting teachers earn just enough to cover their needs, and contracts for raise by semester or by year are available.

The Lechner School of Galactic Possibilities keeps itself clear of politics. Although it is known that its founder, Alwine Daye Alwine Daye , is a prominent leader among the Agents of Chaos, she does her best to separate the organization from her school. Any planet or space station that wishes to have a The Lechner School of Galactic Possibilities branch on it is welcome – even if they belong to places that are opposed to the Agents of Chaos ideology.

The first few branches of the Lechner School of Galactic Possibilities enjoyed large budgets made by a few donations. After they were constructed, fund raising events began to be held regularly to generate an income to pay the teachers and other staff, but also build more and more of the schools. Recently, graduates have begun to make donations as well.

Main place on Eve

The first and most funded branch of the Lechner School of Galactic Possibilities lies close to the heart of Eve, the capital city of the Scintilla. In a section where the skyscrapers turn bit by bit into more ground level buildings and homes, stands one tall building that is set apart from the rest. This is the first school that opened, and funding to it is the biggest one. Fifty floors tall, it houses an endless amount of classes, presently in fifteen languages simultaneously. The last ten floors are dedicated to more advanced studies, for those who have finished their basics and which to prep for higher learning academia institutions around the galaxy. Lechner School students in other branches who do extremely well are sometimes offered a scholarship to complete their studies in the big Eve branch, improving its reputation.

Slums of Eve

The branch in the Slums of Eve was not one that had been preplanned. Not even the slums were preplanned at any point, but they still came to be as a natural and organic growth of a civilization and then many civilizations moving into the sphere. The people of the slums, their situation bad as they may have been, still wished for their children to learn better and do better. One of the gangs in that neighborhood made the petition, and a school was opened there as well. Building a fancy structure seemed like it would turn the place into a magnet for trouble and violence, so instead it was decided that the school would sit in a small building, only four floors high, and teach the children the basics that were required when they were not busy working.

Spira

The Spira branch is another school that does well. This one was initially not meant to be on the planet at all, but personal relations made it possible to open a good kind of branch nearby the Red Lady. While the red ladies themselves hardly have any need of it as they can afford private education, it was actually the children of the entire staff in the building that had immediately signed their children up, as their own wages could not support the proper financing of the relatively large families they tended to have. Among those who can't afford private education, the Lechner School quickly became among the top institutes they could find on the planet, and a surprisingly high percentage of those who have attended the school moves on to formal higher education.

Coruscant

Much like in the slums, there is a branch of Lechner school in the Undercity of Coruscant. This specific branch is considered underground even in the underground, for it to discreetly targets those who wish break free of the constraints of the undercity, something that is severely frowned upon by the various gangs and criminal forces who control the various sectors. Here specifically the school takes on a more nomadic approach, and changes location every few weeks, often into this or other abandoned apartment. A network of FFU (Free From the Undercity) agents maintain the communications and for now, the safety.

None

The Lechner School of Galactic Possibilities invests rarely to never in providing security. In many cases, the locals take care of the security themselves as per the situation and the needs, and the measures taken can vary not only per world but also per neighborhood.

Alwine Daye Alwine Daye had not had the privilege of education as she grew up. There, born and never having stepped off of Stewjon, she was subjected to be trained and forever maintain the role of a servant. Sometimes she cleaned, sometimes she worked in the scullery, sometimes she was set to work in other menial jobs, and always, always, did she serve those who were considered her batters for no other reason than being born to the right family.

When Alwine was at last freed of the clutches of Stewjon, she was exposed to the rest of the galaxy for the first time in her young life. She had been overwhelmed at first, simply gazing at the stars from a ship, and then at the diversity of creatures, languages, and essentially everything else.

On Stewjon, Alwine had always dreamed of joining the warrior caste of the women (the Shield Maidens), but was denied because of her petite height and built. Away from Stewjon, this suddenly stopped being a matter, and she joined the Knights Obsidian of the Confederacy, at last making her dream of being a Warrior come true.

But sometimes, getting our wishes does not make us happy. Alwine was a combatant, and during her times off, she spent almost every moment just trying to catch up. Learn how to read faster and better, without needing to use her finger or mumble words. Learn how to write, so that she could compose her own messages and read the literatures of those who had experienced the galaxy in so many different ways. Learn how modernized finances worked, and so much more.

While she knew she was no longer on Stewjon, it was a random afternoon that she comprehended that Stewjon was different from the galaxy in more than one way, and that though she had been raised in a society where the dichotomy was warrior or servant, she was now away from there, and there were so many more different choices except for those two. And she knew, that she had to be better schooled if she wanted to use some of those different choices.

The longer Alwine spent as a warrior, the more her mind wandered off to think of other things. She knew she no longer wanted to be one, but then, what could she be? And if Stewjon had not so shackeled her for nineteen years, what could she have become?

Slowly, the idea of helping people like her began to grow in her mind. At first she made the attempt of helping those who were like her when she came across them, but instead of teaching them herself, she'd become proficient with knowing who to turn to when what was needed. When she found herself helping with that for much more time than she'd ever anticipated se would, her idea grew into a school. And though the idea continued to swell and expand in her mind, she at no point found herself being able to make the move to start it.

When Alwine left the Southern Systems, the idea of her school floated at the top of her thoughts. She did not yet know where she would go and what she would do, but the notion of now finding planets that needed that sort of help and giving them a hand seemed right to her. All she needed was to get more funds, for while her savings did not leave her wanting, they were far from being enough for something like that.

She joined the Agents of Chaos, and was granted a free entry from Discordia, the head of the Agents, to try her hand in anything she wished, aside for the Wild Hunt (the combatants of the Agents of Chaos). Alwine, who had always felt she had a good grasp on speaking when not confined by the restrictions of a ridiculous society she was forced into, opted for the Speakers, and was quickly elevated to their leader.

With more funds now and more importantly, a better network of people she could reach, Alwine quickly found the way to rich patrons of the Scintilla itself, and pitched her idea. Her only requirement was that the funds would never come out from the Agents of Chaos, for she did not wish the two to be entwined. Though she completely agreed with the Agents' ideology and had become one of the more zealous missionaries of it, she still did believe that education should be denied on the grounds of that, and so she let it be known that the schools would open anywhere they are welcome. In some instances, this worked, though as common sense would dictate, there are several planets that completely refuse to even consider having a Lechner School on them.

With the first investments, the first school was opened. For Alwine, her dream had come true, and with every additional branch that opens, the realization of the dream only becomes better. The success of her school was instant, and both students and teachers flocked to it, especially in the first months.

The Lechner School is ever expanding, adding branches in more and more spots of the galaxy.
