STANDARD FEATURES
- Standard Military Sensor Array
- Standard Military Targeting Systems
- Standard Starship Safety systems
- Other Standard new military tech things
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
- Compartmentalized Design
- Jerry Rigged Systems
- Underbelly Docking Bay
- Several Hangars
- Massive Hangar
- AI Assisted weapons tracking and maintenance
- Docking bay: Can hold up to 1 Cruiser sized ship
- Ancient tech: Complex maneuvers such as tactical micro jumps and other decidedly modern tactics often cause too much strain, leaving its tactical options limited in battle and dire situations
- Engine Failure: Engines prone to random failures
- Limited Hyperspace Range
- Quirky Ships: Random systems frying, doors opening or closing randomly, missfiring turbolasers and other strange, random occurrences are common
- Whatever ship is docked in the docking bay counts towards total fleet length in measured engagement threads (Invasions, skirmishes, etc)
- Broadsides: Like many ships of the Old Republic era, while its most intimidating weapons are located on the surface of the ship, the bulk of its point defense and anti-capital ship turbolasers are located along either side of the ship, reducing much of its firepower to broadside attacks
- Hull Damage: While the hull and bridge are reinforced with Mandalorian Steel and Beskar plating respectively, the deflector shields of the vessel are weak in comparison to current technologies. As a result, hull damage and direct attacks to the hull can rock the ship, throwing off workflow during battle.
Heavily modified, the ancient design was originally what the Venator-Class star destroyer would be based off of. As such they have a similar shape and share many design qualities such as the massive dorsal hangar, though rather than running the length of the ship like on the Venator, it only ran a quarter of the bow's length. This still allowed it to dump a massive amount of fighters quickly, but left the interior of the ship vulnerable to attack while the doors were open. Rather than the two command towers typical on later Republic warships, the ship that would become the Legacy-Class battlecruiser instead had a single bridge which was connected to a greater superstructure where vital systems such as powerful shield generators and point defense controls. Once modified by the Mandalorians, the newly christened Legacy-class battlecruisers also sported beskar armor plating on the command tower and connecting superstructure, making what would normally be a vulnerability, one of the safest places on the ship. The newer retrofitted models currently in service also had the added benefit of the now standard compartmentalized structure that allowed the ship to sustain full perforation during battle and survive to fight another day.
Despite the advancements in technology that allowed the last few remaining vessels to plug along into the new galaxy, many of the techniques used to build the ship were severely outdated by modern ship standards. Sometimes this was to the point where systems could not be removed or modified and could only be kept running. One such place were the engines. Incredibly small by modern standards, the engines were constructed in such a way that removing them or changing their power output caused various systems of the ship to shut down completely. As a result these vessels were still utilizing Clone Wars era engines even after the Gulag Plague making them substantially slower than even modern Super Stardestroyers. The power system also proved to be finicky, forcing the Mandalorians who called these ships home to learn how to modulate the ship's power so as to not cause ship wide system failures. They hyperdrives were also heavily modified during the Clone Wars era, likely due to the Ruusan Reformation, which saw greatly reduced hyperdrive range. Being as old as it is, each Legacy-class had different quirks and problems that it needed to deal with, including the personality. Each ship during the clone wars was equipped with individual AI to aid in ship maintenance and weapon function as prior to the commission of the Clone Army, the Republic had been short handed. These AI have all developed personalities as their memory wipes weren't always fully completed either due to lack of knowledge or simply because their technology was too different now.
Despite these hardships, the few remaining ships in active service were loved by many and the ones that remained as townships on Mandalore home. The few remaining serve both House Skirata and ManalMotors as command ships or mobile bases.
