Leira Rhys
Character

Name: Leira Rhys Faction: None, previously The Sith Empire
Rank: None, former Pawn of Vereshin
Age: 13
Height: 5’3
Weight: 110 lbs
Personality;
Deeply emotionally scarred, Leira is a sullen, serious individual. Ones’ first impression of her may be that she is rude and arrogant, as when she does speak it's usually to correct what she perceives as an error, or, on the opposite end of the spectrum, a shy, grumpy child. These assumptions could be strengthened considering Leira’s rare, but snarky and often hurtful, sense of humor or weakened upon forming a deeper relationship with her. Leira’s softer side is shown when she interacts with those who have proven themselves to be trustworthy to her (a very impressive feat, given all that she’s been through), those younger or more vulnerable than her, and animals. At her best, she can have a very light hearted attitude, cracking jokes and making sarcastic remarks, offering words of advice, and fiercely protecting those she cares about; Even her seriousness become an endearing trait, as she is truly wise beyond her years, pragmatic, and clever. At her lowest, she can be selfish, as nobody has ever truly cared about Leira except herself, manipulative, and terribly impulsive. Anger is Leira’s most powerful emotion and her moral downfall, as her power through the force grows and festers with it, making her a destructive force and giving her not only the ability, but the desire, to hurt others through blind rage (which, in her case, is often accompanied by fear). All that being said, her deepest desire is to be at peace with herself. Even this pursuit, ironically, seems to bring chaos into the young teen’s life.
Stats:
Strength 5/10
Due to the circumstances of her life, Leira is surprisingly strong for someone her age, though if placed against an average man of average strength this would be more of a 2/10
Dexterity 8/10
Being small and thin, Leira is very agile and flexible, especially when using the Force
Intellect 9/10
She’s not very well educated but she is very clever and catches onto patterns and trends quickly. She is also emotionally intelligent with the ability to be manipulative, lie convincingly, and easily tell when other people are lying.
Charism 2/10
She’s not the warmest person in the galaxy, due to her cynicism
Skills:
Lightsaber forms trained in: None yet
Force Usage: Very untrained, her most powerful moments being when she was angry, scared, overtaken by Vereshin, or both. She is very strong with the Force but she cannot control it, causing her to lash out and hurt others and sometimes herself. Through Vereshin she learned to hone pyrokinesis and was able to manipulate time enough to escape his grasp but still has a very shaky, unreliable understanding of both concepts.
Biography:
Born on an Alazirian greenhouse farm, Leira was working as soon as she could walk, helping her parents grow and harvest vegetables and making trips to the market (it always helps to have a cute toddler around when you’re selling things). Though a seemingly peaceful life, Leira suffered abuse by her father in private and was threatened to keep it a secret from her mother, who died when she was 10 of a degenerative illness. The abuse only worsened after her death and with the abuse grew Leira’s fear and more importantly her anger; Her first use of the force was completely accidental. It was the usual argument between the pair, complete with screaming, crying, name calling, physical abuse; Except this time when something clicked inside of the then 11 year old girl. It was as if she could feel the aura of every object around her and her own father’s appeared to her as a dark enigma; Though the use of the Force is described by many as enlightening and an incredible gift, Leira felt its’ immense power all at once under all of the stress, and as her father opened his mouth to hurl more insults at her, without thinking, she sent a potted plant flying across the room and into his head. Initially she believed he was just unconscious but upon further instruction, figured out her father was dead. Leira, being an eleven year old girl, had no idea how to process what had just happened; She killed her father with the Force, something she’d heard about in stories but never seen used, and she didn’t even fully realize that what she had used was the Force. Emotionlessly, she laid a towel over his head, stuffed a backpack full of necessities, and left the home, never looking back. Leira has blocked this incident from her memory completely.
It didn’t take long for Alazirian authorities to notice that there was a young girl digging through the dumpsters of the nearest town’s diners, so one day she was picked off the street and put into the system and placed in an orphanage. The rigidity of the rules at the facility didn’t sit well with Leira, especially with all that she had been through. She constantly found herself in trouble, flinging things through the Force whenever she got upset, sneaking out, (to literally do nothing, she just didn’t like the feeling of not having a choice of where to go and what to do), even physically getting into fights with her peers.
The worst choice she ever made was running away from the orphanage to go fish through a scrap pile, though, as that was when Vereshin got his hands on her.
A wild young girl, her Force signature was strong, discernible by any seasoned Force user. It was alive with rage, fear, desperation, all the ingredients present for a powerful Dark Side user. Being a powerful sorcerer, he linked his signature to hers’ after just one brief conversation where he offered her bread and credits. Then to seal her to him for good, took over her body and forced her to slaughter everyone in the facility she lived in through pyrokinesis, even bringing up some of her anger at the staff and other children to manipulate her into thinking that she was the one at fault for this crime.
For an entire year she did his bidding. The twisted sorcerer dragged her along for his “adventures” (if one could even call it that) through time and his studies of it; Leira experienced multiple battles and historical events that could’ve been traumatic for her, but the truly terrifying thing about her time with the twisted sorcerer was watching him try to change an inevitable future. She never learned what it was he was trying to avoid, but along the way she picked up bits and pieces and learned that she was involved even if they hadn’t met that day on Alazir and that she brought about his downfall in one way or another. Though somewhat satisfying for her to know she was the one to bring him down, she also felt pity and dread for him. He was cursed with this power, to reverse time and change everything, therefore damning himself to a meaningless time loop. The only way Leira was able to free herself, and maybe only temporarily as he could easily find her and imprison her mind once more, was by learning the basics of the technique herself and tricking him into sending them both back to a time where their minds were separate entities and they weren’t in the same location. After scavenging for a few days, Leira booked it to Coruscant, a planet where everybody could disappear into a crowd….
