A grenade that cleans, simple in theory, ridiculous in concept. The user simply has to pull the pin and set or toss the grenade body into the room needing to be cleaned. The casing erupts into a cloud of nano-bots that coat the surfaces of the room, generating a map of the area. The networked brains then apply over a thousand unique design theories to determine what's furniture and deliberate decoration and what's trash. Once established, the colony will deep-clean and break down any garbage such as empty food containers, degrading organic matter, dust, dirt, and other common detritus, leaving behind a fresh lemon scent. The reconstituted matter and droids will then converge where the grenade originally burst and reform into a new one, ready to be used again. Left over material is left as small cubes, easily picked up and discarded when the Spring Clean Grenade is retrieved.
Great care was put into ensuring that living organics could never be targeted for cleaning or even dead bodies. All known species genomes are recorded and black-listed. likewise living and recently dead plant matter are also excluded to protect houseplants and fresh food that may be left out. Likewise droids, walls, and other structures are protected from disassembly along with most things generally to large to be considered 'trash.' Any tampering or even attempt to access the codes governing the grenade or nanobots will result in them turning on themselves before rendering the gadget forever useless.
