Lessons start Now

[member="Darth Erebos"]

Where usually one would find an awaiting apprentice sitting in a training room or the like, Jacen was not content to do so. Instead while waiting for this Sith knight who was to train him he was down in the docks of the Sith temple. Jacen was a mechanic before he came to this place afterall, and working on ships and vechicles was something that helped pass the time when need be. He didn't like just sitting around doing nothing, not even waiting in some empty room for the sake of having force lessons taught to him. He needed to have his mind going at least.

It had only been two weeks since he arrived among the Sith and already Jacen felt they were a little "too serious". Perhaps it was his own dispoition at play but he wasn't the type to take things as much as they did; not yet at least. Even if coming to this little garage to fix up a broken shuttle or two would seem some sort of indisgression he didn't care. This was his time afterall, so why not use it the way he wanted to?

Darth Erebos walked into the designated training hall he had been told to go to, to train a new apprentice to the sith and wasn't very surprised that the room was empty. 'So is he simply late or simply not here?' The Sith knight thought as he moved a hand out and snapped his fingers, causing a force echo to emanate throughout the room, saturating it in the force and clearing it so very well to his eyes.
The Birth right of the Miralukan was Erebos's which made him see with the force and what he was looking for he found soon enough. A trace of the force marking it as a footprint of [member="Jacen Saar"] within the chamber.
'He must have come here and was too impatient to wait for me it seems.' The thought was obvious and he then followed the small trail of force energy to the garage of all places. Walking down the docks he looked around until he saw Jacen, fiddling with some machine or another and walked silently up behind him.
"Is this how you relax?" He asked, his tone friendly enough but through his mask's vocal filtration it took on a more droid and deeper tone than it actually was, but his body language showed he was more curious than anything. What had made the acolyte decide to spend his time here was the mystery to Erebos but also the seeming un disciplined nature of the young man as well.

Jacen stopped and glanced back, seeing [member="Darth Erebos"] for himself. A miralukan. Not the first Jacen had seen, but the first he'd seen in a long time. He never could get over how near human they were if not for having no visible eyes at all. After that he turned back to his work, pullin out a fried flight modulator before reaching into a nearby box for another.

"Try to think of it as saving the life of the next guy who flies this thing." he said, not facing the Sith but indicating the shuttle. "These little carrier is lucky no one tried to take it out for a joy ride." He losened another panelt while adding "Everything is on the verge of frying. One wrong move and a person's entire trip would've ended really fast."

Erebos simply nodded to [member="Jacen Saar"] after hearing that and took a seat near him. "So tell me how long do you think this will take to fix?" He asked as the faceless face plate of his mask seemed to stare at Jacen.
The kid was interesting, Erebos had to give him that and his simple way and, to him at least, apparent affinity with machines made him an excellent candidate to learn Mechu Deru even though it was a skill Erebos didn't know he could at least see someone with the potential to truly master it.

Still fiddling with the inner working of the ship from the panel he removed Jacen answered "As much time as I need." He finally poked his head out, it stained with a little grease which he began to wipe, before asking "Why? You need me for something?" He didn't even give [member="Darth Erebos"] time to answer before saying "Wait a minute. Are you the one I was supposed to wait for back in the training room?" He chuckled a bit to himself before saying "Here I thought you were late."

Under the mask Erebos frowned a little, he had wanted to keep up his little game a little longer but what can you do. "In fact I am... Darth Erebos what did you wish to learn from me anyway?" He then asked as he hadn't been requested by name but he had been requested as an instructor by the administration and he wanted to try his hand on single one on one training.
He took out his own gross guard Lightsaber and then let it go, letting it hang lazily in the air as he moved into a meditative posture. "I can already tell that working on a machine such as this shuttle is somehow your way of meditating, I've heard of it. I think it's called a moving meditation and one can get a lot of work to done when doing it." He said as he then moved his hand up to gently grip his own chin and then chin of his mask as he began to think a little, putting half of himself into a meditative state while he listened and processed whatever [member="Jacen Saar"] would tell him or answer him.

Jacen only wiped a little more grease off his face before hearing [member="Darth Erebos"] introduce himself. He was about tp speak before seeing his weapon revealed. An impressive looking device, that was for sure. Jacen heard about the lightsabers and the various shapes they had. Some that could hold two blades, others that could spin, and even some that acted like cross-guards on ancient swords.

He leaned back on the ship, watching the Sith get into a medivative state before asking what Jacen wanted to learn. He shrugged and answered "I don't rightly know. For a long time I didn't even know I was capable of half the things I've heard of. You Sith seem to fasicante with raw power and how to effectily use it at killing people. A nice touch, mind you, but right now all I'm good with is a good ship and some good tools."

Erebos seemed to chuckle a little. "Well that is true but I see through the force and I can tell you can use it. Sith use different methods of as they put it increasing their power or draw power from. Some use cruelty, rage even pain or any other strong emotion you can think of. I for one use something called a cold rage it gives me the ability to feed off of rage but only get around 70-80 percent others would get from harnessing pure rage but as a trade of my mind in clear and I can easily outwit or calculate what my opponent might do faster and more accurately than those that really on pure unadulterated rage."
He then explained as he moved the saber back to it's place on his belt and stood up and looked at [member="Jacen Saar"], cocking his head to the side a bit to see if he could understand what he meant but all in all he saw he was purely untrained and to get to build such a raw and untrained recruit was quite the treat for Erebos.
"Most sith would tell you and try and make you belive you are better than every other non sith out there but it is simply arrogance that makes them say that. As the saying goes there's always someone stronger." He said, his tone showing he was smiling under his mask.
Suddenly and without moving besides looking at a large hydrospanner on a table not far from them, Erebos raised it into the air and brought it in front of Jacen and gestured for him to grab it. "Try lifting this just slightly above your palm." It was a simple task for those trained but it was also a very good foundation to begin learning from.

As he listned to [member="Darth Erebos"] the man began to sound all the more resonable as he explained the ethods of the Sith. Acting on negative emotions seemed their thing, and given how angry Jacen felt towards his family for lying to him he had plenty to spare. Then the fact that even though he would train to be strong he would never be the strongest there was. That sort of ambition was arrogant, as Erebos had put it.

Then, once Erebos had pointed it out, Jacen took the floating hydrospanner in hand before hearing the Sith's request. He had done this sort of thing before, making things move with a gesture or thought. But usually that was out of instinct and not control. He had to make it move on his own will, not impulse.

Looking down at it Jacen began to focus on the spanner, trying to imagine it floating above in the air. Nothing happened at first, making him stop, but then he instead took a deep breath before simplying letting go. He let go of the spanner and felt it lift off his palms. His connection with his feels, not his thoughts, was what was helping to make it move as it did. He found it easier now to the point of moving his fingers, making it spin in the air.

Erebos watched patiently as [member="Jacen Saar"] tried to lift it to no avail but then the most curious thing happened he did it instinctively. Similar in fashion to how Erebos himself had begun his force training but still fundamentally different in it's application at the least.
"You rely on your instincts and feelings to use the force?" He then asked as he moved to sit down once again and watched the acolyte spin the hydrospanner above his hand. 'Curious how he managed to bring it up as soon as he poured his feelings into it instead of focusing simply and willing it up from his hand. I believe he could benefit greatly if he learned focus alongside his feelings, could be a good source of power for him.' He thought as he then flicked his finger and made the hydrospanner spin even faster and faster above Jacen's hand.

Just as [member="Darth Erebos"] had asked Jacen had seen where he wanted him to sit. He made his way over to the spot while answering "That's how I would always start. I could be angry or upset about something and then suddenly Bang! Something moves or gets knocked over. Or I wind up pushing someone without even touching them." He shrugged before seeing the hydrospanner spin faster. He moved his hand away to watch it go while looking back and asking "What great difference is there between the light and dark sides of the force? The more I hear about them the more they seem the same. Just the people who use it do things different."

Erebos had his own way of looking at the force, which wasn't that popular when he brought it up among his peers. "Well in all honesty the only differences is that the dark side relies on one's passions, emotions and the like to give someone great power quickly but in the end it also ravages and deteriorates the persons mind and body at a faster rate. The Light side requires serenity and oneness of spirit and while it is a slower path to power it also helps and relies on compassion and non-commitment with no bad side effects on the users body or mind." He explained it to [member="Jacen Saar"] as he understood the differences between the two sides. "But I haven't met a lightsider yet that would talk to me about it so my knowledge extends mostly to the darkside." He then said shrugging his shoulders a little.
"The way you use the force, with instinctual and emotional conduits is a boon for fighters but that also leaves you open to attacks from the force and you won't be able to master any really powerful and advanced techniques. Such as this one." He said as he pointed to a small point on the floor to the side and red force lightning erupted from the ground were he was pointing, a skill called the sith barrage.
"If you wish to learn strong abilities and powers in the force you must learn to harness your own emotions and instincts until they are simply an extension of your own will, but if you are more the fighter type then I can teach you how to harness them to empower your own body's strength, speed, agility and balance. Even increase it's rate of healing to a small degree."

Jacen continued to listen to [member="Darth Erebos"] give his explination of the dark and light of the Force. If the difference was emotion and serenity then Jacen knew he would never understand the way the Jedi do. His emotions were already in a flux, ever since he'd learned the truth about the Force and the people who wielded it. Although the idea of more power causing deterieration on the mind and body was someething that drew Jacen's concern.

While he did not voice it Jacen didn't like the idea of losing his mind and good looks if he devoted too much power to darkside abilites that drained him. If that were the case then he would need to be careful. Any greater powers, like the sudden bolt of red lightning that shot from Erebos, were learned by him would be kept in check. Besides he knew that not all of it required force abilites to fight.

He only nodded when Erebos finished before asking with a smirk "And what about lightsabers?"

Erebos could sense [member="Jacen Saar"]'s concern when the deterioration of the dark side was brought up and simply smirked a little under his mask at that but then came the question of Lightsabers and he took out of a pouch on his hip, a long cylinder and threw it to Jacen. "Here this should possibly help with that." He said in a tone belaying a smirk under his mask.
It was a Zuguruk Tyûk Saber, one of his companies product and training sabers that would serve the training of new recruits with lightsabers without the danger of cutting off a limb. Taking out another he turned it on and showed him that it would only numb the area hit by poking it into an unfortunate dock worker who limped away after being poked in the thigh, no visible damage on him.
"What you hold in your hand is as much a lightsaber as it can be without the ability to cut through everything that real ones have, familiarize yourself with it for a few moments while I explain the fundamentals. There are a variety of styles you can learn and prowess with the lightsaber is probably the more "safer" aspect of the dark side as it only means your power is within your own body as some styles require you to channel the force into yourself to achieve the complex moves of the styles."
He said displaying a few cuts and moves of the first style of Lightsaber combat.

Jacen caught the saber easily before examining it. As [member="Darth Erebos"] explained what power it held he was all the more enthused about it. To think such a simple looking craft could cut through the heaviest of metals and armors. A single sweep could take a man's head off in one stroke. He could see why the Sith and Jedi valued these weapons so, given the power they had.

He nodded to Erebos, gesturing with the saber, while saying "Now this is something I could get used to."

Erebos seemed to sigh a little. "Just remember these are simple training sabers they won't cut through anything, only numb organic matter so that it will be useless for ten minutes or so." He said as he turned his Zuguruk Tyûk Saber on and took a stance. "Come now let's see how good you are hm?" He said, almost mockingly to [member="Jacen Saar"] as he did a salute with his saber by putting int up in front of him then twirled it to the said and pointed it in a downwards angle away from him. "So want to see what someone trained with these can do?" He said with a smirk forming under his mask.

The challange was accepted. Jacen smirked at the Miraluka before activiating the saber in his hand. Both hands were on the hilt as he watched the crimson blade rise in shining glory. No weight was added, making it almost light as a father in his hand. He waved it a bit to see the beam following suit, a good indicator of how he was supposed to be careful with such a weapon. With a decent enough idea he began to approach [member="Darth Erebos"] with intent.

Once he came up to him Jacen, not fully knowing what he was doing, tried with a overhead stike and then followed with an attempt to sweep him from the side. He figured if he wound up killing the Sith then perhaps that would mean he was better than he thought. Nothing more.

Erebos watched [member="Jacen Saar"] as he approached and effortlessly side stepped from the over head strike and with minimal movement blocked the side sweep with his own blade. "Interesting approach but really is that all you have?" He asked as he applied a little Dun Möch into this lesson.
With a push of his blade he pushed Jacens blade away and swiped towards him, aiming for a large diagonal swath across his chest. "You are sloppy, predictable and wide open, undisciplined and unfocused." He said as he applied a swift forwards kick after the diagonal sweep. "Do you intend to die the first time you actually enter battle?"

Jacen should've known better. When [member="Darth Erebos"] deflected his attacks with ease he realized he was dealing with a skilled warrior, not a trainee like him. But his ambitious and "no surrender" attitude was winning out. He approched again only to quickly dodge the sweep the Sith made. He was lucky, A few more inches and he'd be dead for sure. He advanced again and now tried to copy him, making a sweep for his chest before coming in from the right for a parry.

Erebos Parried the sweep for his chest and then easily moved his saber to the parry that [member="Jacen Saar"] sent his way. 'He's talented that's for sure, He'll be quite the duelist someday.' Erebos thought as he then raised a hand and flicked his wrist towards Jacen to send him a small force wave at him. "When you are dueling, the Lightsaber isn't your only tool and weapon, You can implement force abilities for attack as well as increase your own speed and strength with it, just as well you can also apply other weapons you have or martial arts you've learned. Remember this as it just might save your life one day." He then said as he moved one hand a bit away and a large blade came out of the gauntlet which could be used as a short sword if need be, this display was for emphasis.
Then he charged Jacen with his speed augmented by the force and came in with a crashing overhead slash down with his strengths augmented as well, the intent was to hold Jacen on a defensive stance for a while and to see his limits for the remainder of the lesson.
