I am not so sure if other countries may have a specific day in which they celebrate the lives of men and women who gave their own lives to keep our countries safe from war. However, today, the 11th of November was once called "Armistice Day."
The term Armistice Day was coined by the United States on this day in history because of the signing of the Armistice to end "The War that would end all Wars." or "The Great War". To us in current day, it would be World War One. Many countries called it the same as "Armistice Day" and others have formed it into other terms such as "Remembrance Day," and "Veterans Day" because there have been other wars that have come and gone.
Either way, For many of us, This is our day of remembering the lives lost in wars, no matter which side they are on.
So to any on the site who are currently serving the armed forces, or are a veteran, of every nation, I salute you in your bravery and dedication to join the military. Thank you for your service, and may the rest of your year be grand.
