Let it go, sweet daughter

Let go of the mistakes you've made. I forgive you.

Let go of your condemnation, live free. Embrace what you can't change.

... Open your eyes.

As if on command, both violet eyes flew open.

Her head was a fog, and her heart pounded away in her chest. That same dream again. she thought, trying to collect the remains of her sanity as she awoke. Taking a pouch from off her utility belt, Kira took out some loose leaf tea that had been carefully prepared for her by Manu, something to give her release from the sleep issues she'd been having recently.

Her eyes ached from lack of it, and so did her head.

Lazily, her eyes glanced around the transport. Many were sleeping now, some still awake with a datapad pulled up close to their face.

She sighed and hung her head down, rubbing the sweat on her hands down her linen pants. In a quick one-two motion, Kira was on her feet, scooting out from the seats confines.

No sooner did she walk to the back to get a refreshment, and the entire ship was thrown, her own body along with it.

People started to wake, shifting uneasily.

Kira scrambled, trying to regain her footing, swaying as she balanced to her feet again. The young teenager frowned, glancing to the right of her and trying to focus in on what was outside the ship. An enemy. Someone was here...and someone wanted her dead.

All the muscles in her body froze, and Kira stared blankly at the screen ahead. The captain of the ship appeared to relay a message to the passengers, but the frequency was interrupted and his image fizzled out, leaving everyone around her in a panic. As calmly as she could, Kira reached through the Force, trying to send her Jedi Aura of peace on those surrounding her, but there was so much fear.

Another hit.

Kira crumbled back to the ground. The screams of children reached her ears, too innocent to understand what was happening, too young for their lives to end here, today. Surrounding her, Kira felt an all-consuming panic from the men and women onboard, parents trying to gather up anything and everything in a pointless attempt to save their children. The fear was overwhelming and Kira grasped her chest, taking hyperventilating breaths and faltering.

Another blast. Direct, precise.

Windows around her burst and she felt the pressure build inside her head, the air escaping her lungs. Then there was darkness, and the darkness was consuming, she kicked and clawed and fought, but it wasn't letting her go.

Tears streamed down her face, mixed with sweat and blood. Her honor called for her to fight, but inwardly she trembled and bowed her head, resigned to a fate that was impossible to kick against. Anger soaked in through her blood.

Helpless child. "Ressa..." she whispered hoarsely, remembering her words.

Ressa... Ressa, you were right.

Her strength waned, her hands shivered, but she lifted her head just in time to see a burst of light, brilliant and beautiful.
