Water most important element.
It had been a long time that she had found herself back on Voss in this place she called home for so long. Having found herself drawl-en more to the nature then the enclosed classrooms.

Having walked careful out to one of the large stone that had been set in the water. Taking a seat with her legs cross she waiting for her student to come. Telling him where to find her for his listen for the day. It wasn't like for her to single out just one of her student but she could feel this one was having a hard time.

Coming to find herself once again offering to help bring a young one into the force fulling letting him taste his first really feeling in the force. It was time to see if this one had what it took to someday make a fine Jedi, one that the order could be proud of or was it just herself.

The directions he'd been given were a little tricky, Karrus hadn't admittedly spent a great deal of time out in the fresh air of Voss; much of it had been filled by remaining in-doors where the majority of the students of the Jedi Order were taught in their early years as what some called initiate's. The green, the cool midday breeze and the full sun shinning down around him was much more encouraging than he'd thought to give it all credit for. Perhaps it was the quiet that took to the Academy, knowing that unlike back on Eriadu, here there was no threat nor want for anything while the Jedi Knights and Jedi Master's had taken it upon themselves to find new students and being there to look after their needs.

[member="Maya Whitelight"] was apparently one such Jedi Master. Though Karrus didn't know her at all, it seemed that Master Whitelight had taken an interest in him. He considered this naturally to be a lucky day, perhaps that Master Jeralyr might have spoken to her in passing though assumptions they were and nothing close to the truth that he could've known without question.

Walking briskly across the clearing, gardens to either side of himself, the youth followed the path of small stones and tidily cut hedges until he turned the corner and slowly came to a halt, curiously peering across the stepping stones where Master Whitelight appeared to be waiting for him. The area was placid, few others had come near the path let alone walked it on his side and so despite his nervousness, he slowly approached; offering something of a thoughtful hum before trying to enact the best of formal bows that he could do, having seen the others do so before to their elder Jedi.

"Um...-Hello Master...".

With out even opening her eyes she could feel Zarack coming from far off. This was for another day and time of how to make sure that one couldn't be felt a ways off. As she said in her mind that lesson was for another day. Today it was the basic for this student that was now before her.

"Good Day, Little one, please sit next to me on the next slab." as she waited until she felt he was ready to take the next step.

"I hear great things about your from Master Jeralyr." after which she let this sink into him. "Now he also said that you having begin much of your training." as she now open her eyes to look at him, with her pink calming eyes. Letting it all be taken in that she was not like most Master that walked these grounds. It was here that she was the most at peace with herself but also with nature itself.

"What do you see around us?" as she let him tell her. This only brought a smile to her lips. "Now close your eyes and listen?" as she waited.

"Now what do you feel." knowing this would take some time as it was the sense that the force would have to be used, this would also give her some idea how far he was in his training or how much he had been listing to in classes.

Karrus did as he was instructed, quietly lowering himself into the stone slab before [member="Maya Whitelight"]'s own. Not entirely certain what to expect from a Jedi Master, he'd come into the meeting rather uncertain as even the Jedi Knights that he'd passed had rarely stopped in their duties to acknowledge him. By no means a wrong-doing on their part however, unbeknownst to Karrus, he could be quite reluctant in his approach towards others.
That Master Whitelight spoke of hearing good feedback from Master Jeralyr was even more surprising though it stirred a hint of pride within himself, smiling a little in partial embarrassment and glancing off to his left wondering what exactly they'd spoken about in his regard. "Thank you, Master..." He murmured in sincere gratitude, not quite knowing what else to say and listening further to the Jedi who sat in front of him. Unsurprisingly, there was a feeling of tension about Karrus as his mind raced over a few of the first questions that came to him as he watched the other with great intrigue. Such things like her training and skill, her place in the Jedi Order and what she expected from himself, especially.

"I have attended one or two lessons, Master..." He replied softly, his gaze shifting to the stone at his feet, legs crossed and leaning forward with his weight pulling on his calves; "I don't always know when they're going to happen but sometimes I jus'...-Sorta walk and watch the others train. I don't really know where I should be but...-I'm trying!" He forced a slim smile through his anxiety in the hope that what he was doing might satisfy and meat whatever standards he was expected to.

His attention soon turned to their immediate environment as she asked him what it was that he saw. It was a little curious as far as questions went as the answer seemed obvious to him, "Tree's...-Plants and stone...-The stream.." He replied a little absently as his eyes sought to see whatever it was that she was asking of him, "Nature, right?" he added with a little more enthusiasm, turning back to glance to Master Whitelight. It was then however, that she asked him to close his eyes; an exercise that he knew from watching the others within the Academy walls yet not understanding the depths of the art, he did as he was asked and soon closed his eyes. He was then told to listen, as if to remain attentive and yet not long after asked what it was that he felt. This was a little confusing to Karrus though he staved off his answer, waiting and wondering if maybe he was doing something wrong. "I hear the water running passed us...-And the wind through the tree's, Master." His words came slow, caution in his tone as he suspected he was likely to get this exercise wrong.

Feeling the tension that was coming from this young one. Letting her own present be a calming reach him. Letting him just feeling around him before speaking some more. "Its what you can't see, hear or smell that I want you to reach out to." as she waiting for him to reach out before she started again feeling that he was still having some trouble.

"Everything that grows or breath have the force within, think of how a plant grows first one must plant a seed in the ground then there must be water and good soil for it to take root, just like the force you must let go of everything that you can touch or see, its more of seeing what is not there. as she just let her hand reach down and touch the running.

It would feel like a while, sitting there before [member="Maya Whitelight"] before the boy who had been sitting in silence with his eyes closed for so long, finally managed to catch a glimpse of something beyond the physical. Karrus had not responded to her but he had listened and he had tried to understand. He had been desperate in wanting to succeed in finding this 'thing' that could not be seen nor felt upon the touch of his fingers but rather sensed through the mental and the spiritual body, (so to speak). This wasn't his first time trying to meditate though it was his first that came with guidence and company, the Force he would not claim to know but that excitement and that anxiety that he'd had, had diminished enough for so that he could now claim to have calmed his mind enough to be open to the possibility of a successful trance.

His shoulders slowly rose and gently fell with every breath that he took, Karrus did not know how long they'd been sitting upon the smooth stone but he didn't want to think of it, nor how hard the surface the two were perched on, felt against his backside after such a time, had he the moment enough to distract himself and pay attention to such things, he might have found a numbness that gave a hint to the many minutes that had passed. He did not however.

A change came to his expression given, though not large, his brows furrowed a little in a sort of confused and ginger frown. His previous concerns had left him and yet not establishing a sense of whatever it was he was being asked to do, he did question something of a slight touch to the back of his mind, inexplicable in words yet felt like the two of them were not solely alone. The air around them had cooled and it offered a savory chill to what had previously been a lush and well warmed day, the cold came with a slight but invigorating return of his body's natural five senses, energy that might have been lost in his earlier anxieties no longer a ware on his mind. All so difficult for the youth to acknowledge in his young and juvenile mind, yet this did not stop it from being.

Ignored, Karrus continued to sit in his place, silent and as better focused as he could be. Awaiting some sort of sign to tell him that he was doing or looking in the right direction for the answers to this particular exercise. So concentrated on succeeding that he was completely blind to what was already there in front of him, around the both of them, everywhere among the life that flourished so in the gardens of the Academy.
