Hello Hello.

So I came to this RP Site and WOW there are a lot of people and a LOT of clicky stuff and reading to do. I'm not entirely sure where to start!

I guess the rules would be a good place huh?

But what to do....

I've always been a Mandalore fanboy. Maybe a Mandalorian Warrior? (Me and all the rest of the galaxy huh?) -sigh-

I'll think about it. Is that too common? I don't want to clone a character people have done a thousand times. Ideas?

Nothing common about a Mando; you can say the same about Jedi and Sith.

You're a unique writer, hence you'll make your character unique and that wont have been done before, so go for it!

I don't know. There's so many people here. I'm just a bit nervous I'd get lost in the crowd here.

I do have a question off the bat here. You guys say the character need avatars. What are the rules on that exactly? Can we just get something that approximates what our character looks like? Credit the art if it's not ours? Can original art be used?

First, avatars- You can use any image you like, provided it's PG-13 rated. It should represent what your character looks like for the sake of everyone else, but you can use original art, borrowed art, photographs of actors, etc. There's no rules about it beyond stick to the PG-13 rating of the site.

Second- There's a lot of variation to set you apart from an "average" mando. If you want to go that route, have at! [member="Ra Vizsla"] is great and can definitely help you get started there.

But there are lots of different options too (and you can always write more than one character!). Whether you want to be a force user (Jedi, Sith, Dark Jedi, Neutral FU, Witch of Dathomir, Knight of Ren, etc), a politician, a slicer, a smuggler, a pirate, scholar- And even then, that's just the "job." How unique or interesting your character is, it's far more than their profession. It's what you do with the person underneath that. And there, the possibilities are literally endless.

Please don't hesitate to ask folks if they want to RP, or hop in to open RPs once you have your character squared away! There's a lot here, and a lot going on, but folks are friendly and happy to help out or work with a new player to help get them involved

Regardless, welcome to the site. It's a blast. Feel free to throw up questions and the like.

As Ra, Irajah and Connor are all saying don't be afraid to get out there and do what you want just because someone else might be similar. Your flavor as a writer will keep your character fresh and unique. If you're concerned something as simple as using a different weapon, selecting a different species, or having something to do on the side can really set you apart from the crowd. I know I'm a Hutt crime lord, but I'm also a Mandalorian and have some connections with the Witches of Dathomir. Little side plots go a long way in giving your character new avenues to explore.

Above all just worry about having fun with what you're doing and the people you're doing it with. Don't worry about being unique, I'm sure you'll have something you want to write that the rest of don't, or can't. It'll come to you, just go out there and be yourself
