Guys and gals, it has come to our attention that the Galactic Alliance currently has a rank title which nobody holds yet.

Chief Governor
Boom.
But we don't know what to do with it.
So here we need your help.
Governor governs one independent individual planet.
Chief of State governs the whole Alliance.
What do you want Chief Governors to do?
All ideas are welcome, no matter how wild they are.
;)

The Admiralty
Hmm.

I think this is a tricky one, because of the inherent nature of the Galactic Alliance - which is governed by a system where each planetary government is independent. This means that giving the Chief Governor some kind of influence over the planetary governors could send the wrong message.

I think what we could do is make it a more ceremonial role, kinda like the EU president, in that he guides the debate sessions between the various governors, acts as the go-between for all the governors and the Chief of Staff.

Things like that, maybe?

Could always have "Chief Governor" the delegate/intermediary between planets in a hex.

That way he doesn't hold "Power" over them, but more acts as an intermediary and representative to the Governor of State. And if you break it up by hex, it would allow for a few positions. OR you break it up by 3 hex segments and we start naming "Sectors" if we end up with too many hexes to keep track of.
